Chapter 749 Healing Fast

Joseph’s p.o.v. I listen to Doc as he explains to me and Inti that Jocelyn’s wound has healed to fast, that this can only mean one of two things in a normal situation. Either her Mate’s other half would lend her his energy to heal or her Wolf is going to be out for almost a day. I keep my eyes on Jocelyn and I can tell that she is communicating with Erylis, hopefully she is telling Erylis not to exhaust herself to much. Jocelyn’s gaze gets focused again and I see a small smile on her face. “Doc, can you tell me if there is another way for Erylis to get enough energy to heal me?” Jocelyn asks and I am not the only one that is staring at her. I know there is no other way for Erylis to get that energy and Doc slowly shakes his head, he isn’t aware of another way either. “Do you let Pups stay with their parents, after they have gotten injured?” Jocelyn asks and Doc nods his head. “Have you ever seen one of those parent recover faster than they should have? Did you ever contribute that recovery to their Wolf or Lycan using too much energy?” Jocelyn asks and I am wondering where she is going with her questions. “Yes to both questions. Even though I have to say, that they never needed as much time to get their energy back, as I would have expected from their injuries.” Doc replies. I let the questions and answers run through my head, but none of it makes sense to me at all and I hope that Jocelyn will explain her questions soon. “Mom would always tell us that we lost a lot of information over the centuries, but that my family had always made sure that their Pups got the right information. Indigo and I always loved listening to her lessons and I am glad that Erylis remembered a very important one.” Jocelyn says. Inti, Doc and I are looking at her, we want to know what her Mom told and maybe she can teach our Pups and Youngsters those lessons. “A Pup has the same capabilities as a Mate, maybe even more according to my family. A Mate can reject you, but a Pup stays yours until one of you dies and both can help your other half with healing your wounds.” Jocelyn explains. Okay, maybe we have to point out a flaw in that train of thought. She doesn’t have a Mate or a Pup and that is where her explanation derails. Inti points it out to Jocelyn, before I can. “You are right, Alpha. I never took a Mate and I never gave birth to a Pup, but does that mean I can’t have a bond with a Pup?” Jocelyn asks. Griffin is rolling around my head with laughter, he seems to have an insight that I don’t and I am about to ask him what is so damn funny. He flashes me an image from a scene that took place twenty five years ago, Mom and Dad helping me through my first shift. Of course, there could be a bond between Jocelyn and a Pup she didn’t give birth to. “You are talking about Faye and Jenna.” I whisper, when I have found my voice again. “Not just Jenna and Faye, it also applies to Christian and Joey. They are my family, Erylis and I both feel that way and even if they don’t realize it, that bond is there.” Jocelyn responds and I can see that Joey has been listening to our conversation. I nod my head, giving him permission to come back and he settles down next to Jocelyn. She wraps an arm around his shoulder and she wipes a few tears from his cheeks. “The best birthday present ever.” She whispers before she kisses his forehead. I hear our Youngsters start to hum and the Pups softly start singing “Happy Birthday” as they walk over to us. Joey is humming along with the Youngsters and Jocelyn has tears in her eyes. “Happy twenty first, Sis.” Indigo says as she holds out a little cake with a burning candle in it. Jocelyn closes her eyes for a moment and a single tear escapes the corner of her eye, before she opens her eyes to blow out the candle. Indigo holds up Jocelyn’s phone to show her a message from their Moms, we might not have known about her birthday but her family didn’t forget. “Okay, let Jocelyn rest for a while longer. I want everyone rested and healed as much as possible, before we leave tonight.” Inti says and Joey and I help her to lie down again. Jenna squeezes herself between me and Jocelyn, while Joey lies down on her other side and Faye and Christian are placed on her chest. She smiles as she wraps her arms around the little ones and her eyes slowly close, until her breathing evens out. I lean down over Jenna and place a kiss on her forehead, before I get down for some rest myself. I get onto my side, caging Jenna between my chest and Jocelyn’s side and I place my head on my arm. My forehead touching the top of Jocelyn’s head, my other arm hanging over Jenna, while my hand rests on Jocelyn’s stomach. Joey and I are the only ones that are still awake, Inti fell asleep a few minutes ago with his arm tightly wrapped around Indigo and I hope that they can find some sort of relationship together. It would mean that our Pack finally gets a Luna and hopefully my best friend can finally have someone by his side to help him out, to force him to take a rest from time to time. I just hope that Herold and I will also find a partner to share our life and our workload with, I know who I want to spend the rest of my life with. The question is, will she be willing to share her life with me? My eyes slowly close as I inhale her scent and I am telling you that it is getting stronger with each passing day, let's just hope that this goes both ways. “Jocelyn is ours, they all are.” Griffin mumbles, before I allow myself to drift off into a deep sleep.
