Joseph’s p.o.v. I run towards the north of the circle and as I jump over the SUV, I allow Griffin to take over. Landing on his paws on the other side of the SUV, Griffin start growling at the Rogues. Their decomposing scent hits his nostrils and I am heaving in the back of his mind, grateful that I am not in Human form at the moment. There are only six Rogues out there and I know that this will be over with quickly, they are no match for us. No one is reporting any other Rogues around us and I allow myself to concentrate on the six Idiots in front of us. “Alpha, more Rogues. Jocelyn can’t tell where they are.” A female Warrior reports and I am about to turn around, when the six in front of us start moving. “INCOMING.” I hear someone roar, but I doubt they are referring to the Rogues in front of me. “Kill them.” Inti growls through the mind-link and twelve of our Warriors run straight at the Rogues. Two to one might seem unfair, but we have had enough run-ins with Rogues to know this is the fastest way to deal with them. Griffin turns to jump back over the SUV, “Alpha, we are surrounded by Rogues.” Is heard over the mind-link and Griffin starts running to the right. There are Rogues on all sides and they have their eyes on the inside of the circle, probably hoping to get their hands on whoever they can. Not to keep them as a Mate or another twisted reason, No just to kill them. “You need to buy us some time, Jocelyn came up with an idea. Make sure none of those Rogues manage to get in here.” The same female Warrior calls out through the mind-link and every Warrior seems more determined to keep the Rogues from those that can’t protect themselves. Some of the Warriors stay close to SUVs, while others charge at the Rogues and the scent of blood quickly fills the air. Griffin teams up with a Warrior to take down a rather huge Rogue and my best guess is a banished Beta or maybe a Gamma, but he is no match for Griffin. Not that we are getting out of this fight without some injuries, but by the time we have taken care of all the Rogues, all our Pack-members are still alive. Griffin runs back to Ronion and both jump over the SUVs at the same time. There are only female Warriors inside the circle and only one female is still in Human form, Jocelyn. “Doc, tend to the wounded. Someone start re-heating dinner, we are going to need it.” She calls out, while she walks to the nearest SUV and opens the door slowly. “Come on, Joey. Doc needs to take a look at that shoulder.” I hear her say as she reaches into the SUV and helps Joey to get out, while he is holding his shoulder. Three Wolves are pulling body parts towards an opening between two SUVs and Herold grabs hold of the body parts to pull them out of sight. Once the body parts are out of the circle, the female Warriors shift back to Human form and open the doors one by one. Pups, Youngsters and others that can’t fight, crawl out of the SUVs and someone hands Faye over to Jocelyn, who is on her knees with Jenna wrapped around her. “You are safe, Baby. I will always protect you.” She says into Jenna’s hair and everyone can hear the vow she just made to that little girl. Griffin hands back control to me and I put on some sweatpants, before I allow a nurse to take a look at my injuries. She cleans the blood from some of the wounds and Griffin is already healing them, not much to worry about on my end. I look towards Doc to see him working on Joey, the wound seems serious and without a Wolf it will take a while for him to heal. Most of us are in the same state, injuries all over our body and our Wolves are already healing us. A handful of our Warriors have more severe injuries, but nothing their Wolves can’t fix and they will probably be good to go by the time we want to leave. “How did they get into the SUVs, Jocelyn?” Inti asks and I want to smack him on the back of his head for the stupid question. “I just blinked my eyes, Alpha.” She says with a straight face and I can hear everyone chuckle around me. Griffin likes the way she reacts at times, it breaks a tense situation and we are going to need it from time to time. Traveling in the midst of a war isn’t easy, but at least we can still laugh. I walk over to Jocelyn and crouch down in front of her, “Jenna, do you want some dinner?” I ask her. I hold out my hands to Jenna and she just shakes her head, before she buries her face in Jocelyn’s neck again. Jocelyn holds out Faye to me and while I place her against my chest, Jocelyn grabs hold of Jenna. We walk over to the Omegas that prepared dinner, well they actually re-heated dinner. One of them hands me a plate and I wait until Jocelyn has gotten her plate, before I guide her towards Indigo. No one says a word during dinner and for once I am not bothered by the silence, I even welcome it. “Joey will be fine, but he can’t drive until it is fully healed.” Doc says, before he and Joey sit down for dinner.“Indigo and I can take turns in driving, unless you have enough Youngsters to drive.” Jocelyn offers, but Griffin isn’t too pleased with it. “We have enough drivers, tonight you can let Erylis and Kardia run.” Inti says, before shoving some more food into his mouth. Jenna is grabbing pieces of sausage from Jocelyn’s plate and in between she gets some vegetables and mashed potatoes. Looks like she didn’t lose her appetite after what happened, once they are done one of the Omegas takes the plate from Jocelyn and hands her another bottle for Faye. This time when I reach out my hands, Jenna doesn’t hesitate to accept it and she wraps her arms around my neck. Snuggling close to my chest and while I watch Jocelyn, I hear Jenna’s breathing even out.
