Alpha Amarath
Jocelyn’s p.o.v. I knew someone would object to my suggestion, but hearing that pompous ass of a Gamma say that we were not fit enough. We already made up our mind, we wanted to run for a few hours and it was going to happen, one way or the other. What surprises me is to hear that it was the Gamma’s Wolf that was against it, but the Human half is a conning one and he knows just what to say to have me back down. I turn to Indigo to see how she feels about this compromise, “He is right about the girls, someone needs to look after them and everyone can tell that they are drawn to you.” Indigo says through our mind-link and even Erylis agrees with her. “Fine, Gamma Joseph. We will accept the compromise.” I respond, before I walk away from them. I know that, as an unmated female, I am at a greater risk than one of the males and I really appreciate their concern, but damn I just wanted to let Erylis run. It would have exhausted me enough to sleep during the day, but right now I doubt I will be able to sleep tomorrow and I know I really need another good sleep to help Erylis recover. I take Faye from Joey’s arms and just cuddle with her, while I guide Jenna to our SUV. “At least we can run and I really want to stretch my legs.” Erylis says in my head and I sigh as I help Jenna into the SUV. “Indigo is going to stay with you for the next few hours, Erylis needs to stretch her legs for a while and we will be right next to the SUV. You can look out the window to see her, Jenna.” I say and she rewards me with a smile, because she really wants to see Erylis. Almost all Pack-members saw Erylis, but the Pups don’t believe that she is a silver Wolf and now they get to see it for themselves. I hear a growl from behind me the moment I pull the dress over my head, but I don’t turn around to see who is growling or why. I allow Erylis to push forward and I hear Jenna clapping her hands, while she is leaning out of the SUV. With her snout she softly pushes Jenna back inside, but Jenna just grabs hold of her. “You are pretty, Elis.” Jenna says and I hear Indigo chuckling. Jenna isn’t the first Pup that has a problem pronouncing Erylis her name and we have gotten used to it by now. Indigo holds Faye close to Erylis’ snout and her eyes widen as she looks at the Wolf in front of her, her hands gently caressing her head.“Just in case you were interested, Gamma Joseph didn’t like your strip-show.” Indigo says teasingly and Erylis looks over her shoulder to find him still in the same spot, just staring at us. Beta Herold pulls him from his thoughts by jabbing his elbow into his side and then Joseph growls again because Beta Herold starts to take of his clothes. Indigo is hanging out of the window, looking at the same thing I am and she looks at me startled as we hear another growl. Sounds like we are not allowed to enjoy a nice striptease. “Any idea what that is about?” Indigo asks and I am laughing, because I know who released that second growl. “I don’t think Alpha Inti appreciates you enjoying a free show.” I state teasingly and we both start laughing. Joseph walks past us and before I can stop Indigo, I hear her say, “What? No free show, Gamma.” And I can hear a few Wolves snicker. I am so damn glad I am in Wolf form, because I think I am beet red at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, I would have loved to see Joseph take of his clothes. He is 6”4 with blond hair and gorgeous, ocean blue eyes, but I am grateful I get to hide in the back of Erylis’ mind. Erylis isn’t too shy in expressing her interest and she follows him with her eyes, while he walks to the far side of the circle. She is a little disappointed, when he disappears behind a SUV and she can’t see him strip down. “You wanted to see it, just as much as I did.” She growls softly and again I am glad that I am in the back of her mind, no one able to see the shade of red that is covering my cheeks. The convoy starts moving and Erylis is happy to stretch her legs again, picking up the pace as the convoy speeds up. We are still not at full speed and Beta Herold explained that we wouldn’t, because they want to be able to spot trouble. He also explained that most attacks happen during the night, when most Pack-members will be in their beds and with us being on the move we are less likely to get attacked. During the day the attackers rest and heal their wounds, giving us time to rest as well. They planned this perfectly and took in to consideration all the information they had. We might get to our destination without to many losses, but even one is too many in my book. Indigo starts singing Silent Night in Gaelic and Joey joins her in English, while others start humming along. It is amazing to hear them sing and hum, a reminder of the holidays that are only days away and I hope we will be at white Mountain Pack by then. “Both of them are asleep.” Indigo informs me and it doesn’t surprise me that the girls can sleep under any circumstances. I was never able to sleep during the day and thank the Goddess I never had to, but now I might need to prepare myself to get used to it anyway. Even though I know that our journey will only take days, I know we will be resting quite a lot during the day. I listen to the humming of Christmas carols and if I don’t know the words I hum along, otherwise I am singing the lyrics softly to Erylis. It becomes darker, the more time passes and I know that Indigo and I have to swap places soon. Erylis and I both wish we could stay out here longer, but Indigo and Kardia deserve to run for a while too. I am not sure how we will switch places, but that is for a later time to worry about. Right now I am enjoying the run at night in Wolf form.
