Alpha Amarath

Chapter 718 Golden Boy

Jocelyn’s p.o.v. Erylis runs out of the tree, colliding with her Brother and they roll away from Kardia. I hear multiple growls come from the unknown Wolves and I can only hope that they are friendly. Just as my Brother is trying to make a run for it, a golden Wolf barrels into his side and it gives Erylis the chance to get in a good position to attack her Brother. Our minds on our Brother, instead on Indigo and I am surprised to see the unknown Wolves form a circle around me and my Brother. “Give up, Jocelyn. You and Indigo have already ruined our families, because of you Mom rejected Dad and we got banished.” I hear my Brother say through our mind-link. “What the Fuck are you talking about?” I ask him, because none of this makes sense to me. “Dad told Mom that you agreed with taking Jack as your Mate.” He growls at me, while his Wolf moves to the right. Erylis keeps her eyes on him and I finally understand what Shithat is saying, Mom wasn’t in on the forceful marking. Erylis is growling at her Brother, more determined than ever to take him down a peg or two. Well, it’s more likely that she will end his pathetic life and I am all for it. The golden Wolf has his eyes on my Brother and I can see that he is holding back, he wants to have a piece of my Brother. However, he stays back and gives me the space I need to fight my Brother. Erylis lunges for her Brother, not willing to give him another chance to distract her and she clams his hind leg between her jaws. Giving it a good shake, before she releases him and gets in position to lunge at him again. Erylis keeps this up for a few more times, but our journey and lack of food have taken their toll and even though her Brother is no match for her, she doesn’t feel she has enough strength to take his life. “Hand him over to golden boy, he will take care of him.” I say and with the last strength she can muster, she shoves our Brother towards the golden Wolf. Two other Wolves step next to Erylis, supporting her as the golden Wolf grabs our Brother’s throat with his jaws and clamps down hard enough to sever his head. Erylis lifts her head towards the tree line, but we don’t see Kardia or Indigo and she tries to walk in the direction of where we saw them last. “Careful, you are exhausted. If you are looking for your friend, I don’t have the best of news.” An unfamiliar voice says. “Our Alpha went after them with four of our unmated Warriors, they will get her back and I doubt that the Wolves that took her will survive.”This is more than either one of us can take and I feel Erylis releasing control back to me, but I am too scared for my friend’s life to keep standing. The last thing I remember is two arms wrapping around me and someone calling for a blanket, before my world goes dark. Joseph’s p.o.v. Griffin keeps his eyes on the male Wolf and I keep my eyes on the female Wolf. Griffin is right, the female Wolf is pissed off with the male Wolf. They are related or belong to the same Pack, because it is clear to see that they are having a conversation through a mind-link. Not that she is allowing him to distract her, she keeps him in her sight and lunges at him with tremendous speed. The male Wolf whimpers as she shakes her head with his hind leg between her jaws and she keeps going at him a few more times, but she becomes slower after every attack. She pushes into his side with all of her might and he stumbles towards Griffin, who doesn’t need an explanation. It is clear to all of us that they are exhausted and I order two of our Warriors to support the female Wolf, she can barely stand on her own legs anymore. I know why she is looking at the tree line, but I am not sure if we should tell her what happened. Doc takes that decision away from me, telling her what happened and informing her that Inti went after them. Griffin gives control back to me, but the moment she starts to fall he pushes me towards her and I am able to catch her before she connects with the ground, “Get me a blanket.” I call out to no one in particular, I hold her in my arms as a Warrior approaches with a blanket. It takes a moment to get it in place, but once she is covered Griffin retreats to the back of my head. I stare at the female in my arms, her hair is the same color as her Wolf’s fur and in the split second I was close enough to see it, I saw her eyes are marble grey. Doc opens the SUV that holds Jenna and Faye, there is enough room to place the unconscious female on the backseat and Doc quickly checks her out. “Exhausted and not enough food. She will be fine after a good night’s sleep and a decent meal.” Doc says, before he places a pillow under her head and softly closes the door. For a moment I look at the tree line, but I know that Inti isn’t close enough anymore and I will have to make the decision to stay or not with Herold. The sensible thing to do is to get moving, but my friend is still out there.Herold places his hand on my shoulder, “Inti would tell you to get moving, he knows where we are going and the route we are taking. They will catch up with us and they will bring her friend with them.” Herold says and I know that he is right. “Are you ready, Buddy?” I ask Griffin and I feel him stirring in the back of my head. Something is off with Griffin, but time has taught me that he will tell me when he is ready. I hand over control to Griffin and in a few minutes we are moving away from the clearing, heading back home. A home I need at the moment more than I have needed it in the past five plus years, I just need to feel Mom’s arms around me for a moment. Armon takes the lead and Griffin takes up the rear again, moving at a steady but slow pace to give Inti time to catch up with us.
