Jason’s P.O.V. Hunter gazes straight ahead as Pops and Papa are arguing and I realize that Papa and Hunter are both trying to make sense of it in their own way. “Princess, what do you think this might mean?” I ask her and she slowly turns to look at me. The look in her eyes tell me that she is still trying to put pieces together, but it seems as if something is not connecting in her mind. “What if Quinten never gave up his position? What if he realized something was off? What if Alpha Frank knows more then his Beta and Gamma think?” The words tumble out of her mouth and I have to admit that every question is a valid question. “Like June said yesterday, maybe Quinten let everyone believe he stepped down and maybe Alpha Frank was or is in on it. Maybe Alpha Frank felt something was wrong when he was offered his Mate.” Papa mumbles and for a moment we are all quiet as we let his words sink in. Before anyone of us can say a word there is a knock on the door and Hunter gets up to answer it. She opens the door for Alpha Frank and his parents and tells them to take as seat, while she walks back to her own seat. Justin is quick to sit down in it and pulls her onto his lap. Once they are seated Quinten turns his attention towards Hunter and asks her why she called them in here, she waits until we are quiet again before she starts talking. “Alpha Frank, when did you start to realize something was wrong with your chosen Mate and her Brothers?” she asks. We all stare at her as she asks her question and I honestly believe Alpha Frank is stunned by what she figured out. He tells her that it was after they had gotten home that he started to suspect something was off, but he had been unable to figure it out by himself and he had asked his Father for help. His Father had started to keep a close eye on them and when his youngest Brother in law had snapped over a small miscommunication between him and a Warrior, he had recognized a Cousin of his in him. A Cousin that was banished from the Pack after assaulting his Beta’s Sister. “Dad had asked me to describe my Mate’s Father to him and when I did he knew who her Father was. After he told me what her Father had done I wanted to kill them, but Dad told me he had a better idea and so far it is working.” He says. Jayce looks at him and tells him what he overheard and everyone can tell he had not seen that coming, that he had not expected them to go that far. Ella steps next to Hunter and holds her phone in front of her, “Jayce, be a sweetheart and call Elder Matthew to tell him what you overheard, maybe then we know what we can do to help Alpha Quinten.” As she speaks she doesn’t take her eyes off Quinten, he looks at her in confusion and I have to stifle a smile as I realize June had been correct. “How… how did you know?” He asks and Hunter tells him everything we had discussed yesterday and today.“Your Highness, you are a very smart young lady. Your Mate is going to be a lucky man with you by his side.” He compliments her and she giggles as she hides her face in Justin’s neck, who wraps her in his arms a little tighter. “Alpha Quinten, why didn’t you allow Aunt Sasha and Uncle Todd to visit their family?” Hunter asks and he looks from Sasha to Hunter and back again. Sasha introduces him to her family as Jayce walks back in to the room, holding the phone out towards Hunter. She takes it from him as she gets up from Justin’s lap and I chuckle at the pout on his face, but Hunter makes it up to him by kissing him on the lips. We only hear one side of the conversation and we patiently wait for Hunter to end the call, so we can find out what the Elders had to say. “Emma, can you get the books on conspiracies? I all ready know what I am allowed to do, but I would like to know exactly what it says in regards to this matter. When I confront them I want to know everything there is to know.” She says and Emma rushes out of the room with Ella on her tail. Hunter turns her attention back to Alpha Quinten and just looks at him as she sits back down onto Justin’s lap, waiting for him to answer her question. “Your Highness, I couldn’t risk anyone asking questions. Alpha Drake is no fool and I believe he would have figured it out without having seen my Son.” He answers her and I believe he is correct in his assumption. “Your Highness, can you tell us what is going to happen? I know what I hope you can do, but I would like to know.” He explains to Hunter and she says “I will not tell you, I want you to look as surprised as them. I have one question for you thou, Frank.” She says as she looks him in the eye. He nods his head and she asks him what his problem is with the succession Law. “My parents are fated Mates, just like Todd’s parents and that makes for a strong bloodline. Alvin’s Father was from a tainted Beta bloodline, every male had taken a chosen Mate and their bloodline had weakened over the years. Alvin’s Father found his fated Mate, a strong female from a strong Beta bloodline and because of that he rejected her and took a chosen Mate a Sigma. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against a Sigma and if my fated Mate turns out to be a Sigma I will accept her without hesitation. But with an already tainted bloodline this only added more decay to it and Alvin was not what you can call a true Beta and that is why I didn’t want him to take over from his Father.” He answers her and I can understand that it would affect his Pack. “Frank, is there anyone in this Pack that could take the Beta position or do you need help finding one?” Papa asks him. “A Beta family joined our Pack a few years ago after their Pack had been slaughtered by Rogues and I believe his Son would be the right Wolf for the job, if he wants it that is.” He replies. Uncle Todd says that the guy is the right Wolf for the job and that he would probably take the job if it was offered to him. “Good, than at least that is an option. Now I want to three of you to return to your normal routine and we will meet in your office soon.” Hunter says.Hunter’s P.O.V. I link John and ask him to bring his men with him to the suite on the Alpha floor, I need them to know what I am going to do and I need them to restrain the Beta, Gamma and Luna. Not that they will give them much trouble as they are not officially holding those positions. I only have an hour left before our meeting in the Alpha’s office and I want to explain to my Mates what I want to talk about during the meeting. In the meantime Ella and Emma can find the information I need for when I address the Pack in the afternoon. Once everyone is in the suite I tell them what we found out, I tell them what the Elders had to say and that I will tell Frank to gather his Pack at the Pack-house. I explain to Uncle Luke and his men what I need them to do and after that I tell Ella and Emma what they need to do for me. The last ones I turn to are my Mates and when I tell them what I want to tell them during the meeting, I see all four of them with a huge grin on their faces. “You are really going to enjoy that meeting, won’t you Princess?” Justin asks me and I nod my head with a smirk on my face. Everyone that has a task leaves the suite as I head back to our suite to get changed into something more suited for the meeting. Amanda and her Mother Sylvy had made me a few outfits I could wear during my travels that were comfortable to wear but also look sophisticated. Today I decide to wear a suit as I will be conducting some serious business, it has a high waist flared pants with a three button vest and an hourglass blazer that reaches halfway my thighs. She made it in three different colors and today I opt for the burgundy one with black high heeled boots. I braid my hair over my left shoulder and add a little mascara once I am all done. I walk out of the bathroom and all my Mates whistle as they look at me, their eyes traveling up and down my body. “I think they might stick even closer to us today. Colt says he doesn’t like it when unmated males stare at you.” Justice says and we both chuckle as we already know how possessive these Mates of ours can be, even if they have nothing to fear from a male.
