Theresa, the Doomsday Queen

Chapter 752 Unwelcomed Suitor

Just as they were heading toward the doors to block the groomsmen from entering, Tania suddenly called out, "Step aside!" Everyone froze in their tracks. Slipping her shoes on, she jogged forward and threw the doors open herself. The moment the doors swung open, she came face-to-face with the groomsmen, who had been hesitating outside, unsure how to knock. She dashed straight into Herold's arms in her wedding dress. "Dear!" When Herold saw her, his eyes instantly brightened, sparkling like stars in the night sky. He grabbed her hand, and together they ran off, brimming with excitement. They left everyone else behind, acting like a young couple about to elope. Everyone stared in stunned silence. Theresa watched the seemingly eloping couple with amusement. Her aunt, who only had eyes for Herold, had clearly forgotten about her. "There's no stopping her when she's on a mission," she muttered, shaking her head with a sigh. Everyone nodded silently in agreement. "Alright then, I'll be handing out the cash envelopes on their behalf." Pulling out a stack of envelopes, she began distributing them to everyone present on behalf of Tania and Herold. Once she finished, they happily climbed into their cars and headed toward the wedding banquet. … Ansford's Central Plaza. The enormous plaza was packed with banquet tables. After the brides and grooms made their entrance, they separated from the rest. Meanwhile, the guests attending the wedding banquet were seated according to their respective camps. The members of the Blazing Sun Camp were seated at the front. Charlotte arrived at the banquet alone. Her brother was one of the couples getting married today. Though she came alone, she wasn't actually "alone" either. Her brother had said he would arrange a blind date for her. "You must be Charlotte Clove." When she passed one of the tables belonging to K1 Camp, a man who looked to be around thirty years old stood up and waved at her. He was about five feet three, with a pair of thick glasses framing his face. "And you are?" she asked. "I'm the guy Declan arranged as a date for you today. My name's Neville Lupin, from Haven Camp." She silently studied the short, slightly balding man. Was Declan's taste always so terrible? She wasn't usually shallow or judgmental, but this man was so short that he wasn't even taller than her while she was sitting down! Where had he even found such a person? To be fair, Declan had carefully chosen him because he supposedly had an exceptionally good temper. "Hello… I'm going to sit with the rest of my camp. See you." Charlotte wasn't in the mood for small talk. She hated blind dates, and more importantly, she disliked this particular man chosen for her. She decided it was better to end things decisively. "Wait!" Neville reached out to grab her, practically beaming from ear to ear. "Declan said you're eating with our camp today. It's the perfect chance—we can have a meal together and get to know each other better." "There's no need to know each other better. I have no plans to get married." She quickly shot him down again. Her blunt rejection wiped the smile from his face. Visible annoyance flared across his features. "What's wrong with you? I only agreed to meet you out of respect for your brother! Do you know? A woman like you wouldn't even be popular at our camp. No one would be interested in you! Yet you still claim to have no interest in marriage? Are you planning to die an old, single woman?" His words triggered her, causing her chest to tighten until she could barely breathe. Taking a deep breath, she tried not to lose her temper on such an auspicious occasion."That's none of your business." "None of my business? Who else would even look at you besides me? With that face and that temper… I wouldn't give you the time of day if you weren't from Blazing Sun Camp and if your brother weren't Declan Clove!" Her patience ran out. Clenching her fists, she was just about to explode when a rough, commanding voice came from behind her. "Why aren't you with the rest of our camp? What are you doing here?" A broad-shouldered figure stepped in front of her. It was Tyger. "Tyger!" Charlotte's eyes lit up the second she saw him. "Let's go." Nodding at her, he led her toward their table. "Hey! She's my fiancee!" Neville barked. "Where are you taking her?" "Who's your fiancee?" Charlotte snapped, furious. "I've already discussed our marriage with your brother. We originally planned to officiate the marriage during the wedding celebrations presided over by Ms. Hall, but we decided to postpone since you kept refusing to meet before. Instead, today's banquet shall serve as our engagement party. We're officially engaged from today onwards, so you're naturally my fiancee now." She lost her temper. "Who gave you permission to make decisions for me? Go marry them instead! I will never marry you, you tiny little troll! I'd rather marry literally anyone else on earth!" "I knew it! You're looking down on me just because I'm short! But who besides me would marry you? You wouldn't find anyone else in the entire alliance! After all, you're nothing but a loud-mouth, bad-tempered tomboy!" "What did you say?" A deep, gravelly voice abruptly cut into the conversation. Tyger stepped in front of Charlotte protectively. "What do you want?" Neville snarled.
