Theresa, the Doomsday Queen

Chapter 677 An Unexpected Visitor

They opened their blood-filled maws and lunged at Theresa. Bang! The mines she had planted earlier detonated. The six front-running zombies were blasted into the air. Amid the chaos of exploding zombies and mines, Theresa dashed toward the newly excavated tunnel ahead at light speed. She only had one thing on her mind, and that was to run! "Roar!" "Roar!" Thousands of zombies pursued her relentlessly. Many were speed-mutated zombies, including Level 6! Theresa's speed rivaled light, but the tunnel was too short to create any significant distance. Among the mountains of corpses and pools of blood, the Level 6 zombies surged forward crazily. Their eyes locked onto their prey, and their iron claws sought to tear Theresa apart, to devour her and fill their empty stomachs. They stayed dangerously close to her heels. Only after entering the new tunnel opening did she manage a three-meter lead. As she ran, she tossed steel plates to slow them down. By the time she exited the tunnel, everyone was waiting for her outside. "Roar!" "Roar!" The relentless zombies were temporarily held back. Kyle, Quentin, Graham, and others all reached forward. They surrounded the tunnel entrance, wanting to pull Theresa through. Theresa grabbed Kyle with one hand and Quentin with the other, while Graham and the others held her backpack. At that moment, Theresa suddenly noticed a dark figure behind them. The figure looked familiar, seemingly as if it were someone she had seen before. Then, she saw the figure raise a hand and summoned a massive lightning strike. It was a Level 7 lightning-type ability user! The colossal lightning struck without hesitation toward them. In that split second, Theresa leaped from the tunnel floor, positioning herself in front of everyone to shield them. Before anyone could react, her long blade flew out, and the giant lightning bolt struck the blade. Bang! She drew her Desert Eagle from her waist and fired at him. All of this happened in the blink of an eye. However, the man easily dodged the bullets. Seeing this, Theresa caught her blade midair and charged at him. Shing! The man drew his own blade. The two swords clashed, streaking brilliant arcs of light. Theresa was astonished to discover that he could block her strikes and even match her skill. In both strength and speed, there was no noticeable difference. It wasn't that Theresa was exhausted; she realized this man had a field around him, limiting her speed and strength, bringing her down to his level. Similarly, her abilities were restricted, leaving only her raw speed, strength, and trained combat skills. After exchanging dozens of moves in a brief moment without finding any opening, Theresa turned her back toward him, deliberately exposing a weakness. However, it wasn't that she was recklessly overconfident. She knew that her combat suit would protect her. Even if he struck, it would only be a minor wound. On the other hand, if he took the bait, she could get close enough to end him. That was why she deliberately exposed her entire back. The man saw the obvious opening and swung his blade without hesitation. However, just as his blade was about to hit Theresa, he saw her face.At that moment, he hesitated. In the next second, Theresa thrust her blade into his heart. Sptch! Blood seeped from his chest. However, it was not the massive gush Theresa had expected, but a small amount. In the meantime, she finally saw the man clearly. She locked eyes with him. His eyes were as dark as night. He looked at her and said coldly, "I returned the favor." At that moment, Theresa remembered that this was the man from the Divine Academy's 3000-person selection tournament. After Stratford's three-day survival match, he was the only survivor besides her and her team. Back then, she had even opened a bottle of water for him. Him? Theresa thought. Clap! Clap! Clap! Suddenly, a round of applause sounded out of nowhere. "This is truly impressive!" A man in a suit emerged from the darkness. The man who had just had a blade thrust into his heart pulled it out without a word and walked silently to the suited man's side.
