Theresa, the Doomsday Queen

Chapter 670 Claw Marks and Safety Checks

Five clear deep holes appeared on Dave's clothes. She reassured him, "I'm here. Nothing will happen. Take off your clothes." "Okay!" Dave nodded firmly. Others crowded around, anxiously observing. He took off his helmet and heavy jacket, revealing a bulletproof vest beneath, dented at the shoulders in five places. Under the vest, he wore a thermal coat and another vest. When he had removed all the layers, there were only five bruised claw marks. His skin was not broken, and there was no bleeding. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Theresa relaxed. Luckily, Hugo has upgraded our polymer combat suits multiple times, making them more resistant to zombie claws. Otherwise, she would have had to use the last zombie virus suppressant she had. Even though she could earn more points, using only one now would have been a loss. She inspected Dave carefully, confirming he had no injuries except for bruises. Then she told the others to remove their clothes and check each other. All were unharmed. Theresa finally exhaled. "Ms. Hall, how do we get out now?" Calvin asked. The group around Clara was oddly tight-knit. Harrance focused on Clara, upset about her swollen face from the slap. Only Calvin dared to ask. Theresa snorted. "What can we do? Find a way out." "But there's only one path here!" someone said. Theresa looked at them as if they were idiots. That's why they were trapped. "Can't dig a path?" She lived by one principle. Whenever a road was blocked, she carved out a new one; whenever the path broke, she built a bridge. Nothing could stop her from moving forward. Even without powers or tools, she believed she could dig a path out with her hands. But here, she had both tools and people. She needed to clarify their position and the situation. They were temporarily trapped in the underground warehouse. There were many zombies stuck in the middle of the passage. This safety was only temporary. More zombies would keep pushing their way in. They had to dig a way out before the horde broke through. "Theresa! Found something!" Graham ran over excitedly. "We found a blocked tunnel." Theresa's eyes lit up. Right! This used to be an underground shelter. There should be more than one exit. She followed Graham quickly. Another tunnel entrance was directly ahead, currently blocked. If she was correct, the walls here had been dug out previously, then later blocked off. "Dig here!" Theresa ordered. Kyle and the others pulled out entrenching tools and started digging energetically. Half a meter in, Theresa noticed the tunnel wall material was different from the surrounding earth. She confirmed this was the spot. "Move quickly." "Yes!" Everyone except Dave, who stood guard at the tunnel entrance, helped dig. Quentin joined them, too. Seeing the progress, she turned to Harrance's group. "You all come dig too!"Harrance, the group, and the rest froze on the spot. Theresa tossed those shovels from space. Calvin ran first, grabbed a shovel, and started immediately. The others looked at Harrance. He met Theresa's gaze, then said simply, "Dig."
