Theresa, the Doomsday Queen

Chapter 666 Unseen Power

After confirming the area below was safe, Theresa brought down Quentin and the weakest, Calvin. "Theresa, the gleamstones." Kyle gathered the gleamstones into a bag and handed them to Theresa. Inside were four large Level 5 gleamstones. "Alright." Theresa stored all the gleamstones away. Fifth-level gleamstones were very helpful for evolving their abilities. For her, however, they were of little use. "Let's go," Theresa said, descending casually. "Hey, I told you already, you don't need to worry about us. Theresa is here!" Graham said, glancing at the dumbfounded Calvin. Calvin turned stiffly to look at Graham. Suddenly, he realized something. If they're all this strong, then just how strong is Theresa—the one everyone keeps talking about! After coming down, Theresa first checked the four zombie corpses. She found these giant zombie corpses almost identical to those she had seen in Firestone. Unlike in Firestone, these corpses weren't greenish from poison gas, and their eyes weren't bulging. "Big dummy, do you get poison gas here, too?" Theresa asked. Calvin paused when he heard her question. "Theresa is calling you!" Only then did Calvin realize "big dummy" meant him. He looked at Theresa. "Theresa, there's no poison gas here." "When did your giant zombies appear here?" Calvin shook his head quickly. "I don't know. Last time we came for supplies, we found them. Before that, we'd never seen zombies like this." Theresa frowned slightly after hearing this. It seemed these giant zombies didn't evolve from poison gas. Something else must have triggered it. "Two people stay outside. The rest follow me in." Theresa ordered. "Yes!" Dave and another operative guarded the entrance while Theresa led the others deeper inside. This underground warehouse was originally a shelter. Construction stopped halfway due to a lack of funds and the remote location; it was far from major cities and didn't really need a shelter. Later, the area became a military training ground. The surface was used for training, and the half-finished shelter became a supply warehouse. As a result, the ventilation was poor, and there were no lights. Kyle and Graham walked at the front of the narrow corridor. The spotlights above were the only light source. Everyone moved forward cautiously, inching into the depths. After about three minutes, the narrow corridor opened up into a massive underground passage. The floor was thick with dust, and scattered footprints, fight marks, and bloodstains were visible. Doors lined both sides of the passage, all tightly shut. The locator in Theresa's hand emitted a faint mechanical beeping. A few small red dots appeared in the northwest corner of the screen, very close together. At that moment, a black figure appeared straight ahead in the corridor. It was a long-haired woman in a dirty, tattered white dress, barefoot on one foot, the heel of the other facing them. She held her face with both hands, biting something. As she chewed, she looked up, dropping a chunk of lymphatic tissue with armpit hair attached. It was a human armpit. The long-haired female zombie was covered in blood, her face mangled and half-eaten, revealing a grotesque visage. She opened her mouth wide, chewing the tissue, thick black-red blood dripping from her teeth. Hoo hoo ahh— The long-haired zombie let out an excited roar, spraying blood and stray hairs. She swung her blood-soaked hands and backwards-jointed feet, charging at her new prey. She moved with astonishing speed. Under the dim flashlight, she moved like a ghost, crossing four or five meters in a blink. Calvin felt his scalp tingle. "It's her! The fastest zombie here!" The last time they had barely rushed in, this speed-enhanced zombie had attacked immediately. They had no ability to dodge. Two companions had been grabbed by the long-haired female zombie, their throats torn open and swallowed. This time, just as Calvin finished speaking, he saw Kyle and Graham at the very front, neither dodging nor attacking. Steel wires suddenly appeared in both their hands.
