Theresa, the Doomsday Queen

Chapter 661 The Plea for Help

Blazing Sun Alliance! She was the legendary leader of Blazing Sun Alliance! Ten minutes later, Theresa followed Lily into the central area of their camp. East Sea Camp was much smaller than Solan Camp. Solan Camp had over eight thousand people, while East Sea Camp had just over two thousand. Still, it was considered a medium-sized camp. Especially considering that East Sea Camp was located deep in the plains. Surrounded by zombies on all sides and with no mountains nearby, they didn't even have a natural fallback area. Building a camp for over two thousand people in the middle of this flatland was already an impressive feat. After getting a brief overview of the camp, Theresa found herself particularly impressed by the female deputy leader in front of her. So far, she had encountered very few female leaders. Even as a deputy, she thought Lily was outstanding. "So Ms. Hall is actually so young." Theresa studied Lily, and Lily returned the scrutiny. "You're not very old yourself, Ms. Barnes." "I'm in my thirties," Lily said with a smile. "If you don't mind, you can just call me Lily." It was clear she didn't smile often. When she did, her facial muscles tightened slightly, making her expression a little stiff. "Alright, Lily. You can also just call me Theresa. It doesn't matter," Theresa said casually, unconcerned about titles. As long as it wasn't someone she disliked, she didn't care what anyone called her. "That won't do. I'll still call you Ms. Hall." Lily shook her head, her face returning to its usual slightly aloof expression. At that moment, one of her subordinates came in. "Lily, the zombie wave outside has dispersed." Hearing this, Lily finally let out a sigh of relief. Today's zombie surge was over. "Ms. Hall, thank you so much for your help today!" Lily turned to Theresa, gratitude shining in her eyes. "And thank you for the critical supplies you sent earlier. Everyone in East Sea Alliance is deeply grateful." "No problem," Theresa said, waving her hand. "Where's your camp leader now?" "At the test field ten kilometers away," Lily replied, her expression serious. Ten minutes later, Theresa learned the full story. Two days ago, they had discovered a military test site. At first, they found a batch of military rations and supplies. Most of the food was well preserved—compressed biscuits, canned beef. Although not as fresh as the supplies Theresa had sent, it was still a substantial bounty. The team felt like they’d struck gold. They kept exploring the site and soon uncovered an even larger parts depot. Those parts were of little use to them, but they still hoped to take some back. However, when they attempted to move the supplies, they encountered a massive number of high-level zombies. Their camp leader, Harrance, led a group of the strongest fighters from the camp and became trapped in the underground parts depot. They weren't even able to bring back the canned meat or compressed biscuits. Harrance was Lily's husband. The two of them had built the camp together from the ground up. Normally, Harrance would handle operations outside the camp while she managed things internally. When Harrance got trapped, Lily was frantic. She sent people to rescue him, but quickly realized that even all of them combined were only strong enough to handle a single high-level zombie—they couldn't get in at all. After exhausting every possible option, she finally sent a plea for help to Blazing Sun Alliance. If Theresa could help rescue Harrance and the others, Lily was willing to agree to any conditions. "Why ten people? Wouldn't more make it faster?" After hearing Lily's plea, Theresa asked. "That won't work. It's an underground tunnel, and the oxygen is very thin. We've tried it—if more than fifteen people go in at once, it's hard to breathe. Not to mention facing high-level zombies afterward." Theresa nodded, understanding. "Our East Sea Camp has five experts left. I'd like you to send ten of your people to help us. As long as you can rescue our camp leader, I'll agree to any condition." Looking at Lily's sincere expression, Theresa raised an eyebrow. "Any condition? Aren't you afraid they'll ask for something outrageous... or take a liking to you?" Lily didn't hesitate. "Even if they wanted me, as long as they rescue my husband, I'll agree to anything." Theresa's jaw tightened. Seriously? She'd give herself over just like that? Well, that erased all the good impressions she had of Lily. She had thought Lily was a strong, capable woman—at least the type like Eva. Now she realized that while Lily looked capable on the outside, deep down she was just a little woman.
