Theresa, the Doomsday Queen
Right then, a loud screech split the air as a modified off-road truck burst out of the station. Theresa's eyes lit up the instant she saw it. "Go! Run to it, now!" Dominic and the others froze for a split second. Louisa opened her mouth, probably to argue, but Dominic yanked her along, and they sprinted forward. When it really counted, following orders was the only thing that kept people alive. Any hesitation or backtalk only got everyone killed. They had barely made it three meters before the giant zombie behind them, wielding a billboard like a club, slammed into action. Bang! The billboard crashed to the ground with a deafening thud. A dozen zombies were flattened instantly, their brains and guts splattered across the pavement. Arms and legs flew like toys in every direction. The roar of impact made everyone's ears ring. The ground trembled under their feet, and even as they ran, the force made their bodies shake. Compared to these monsters, human flesh felt unbearably fragile. Louisa's chest thumped violently. Fear clenched her stomach, made her feel tiny, entirely at the mercy of something unstoppable and unknown. Her mind flashed back to the very first outbreak of the zombie virus. She had been a college student at the time. One night in the dorm, her roommate on the bottom bunk suddenly snapped and sank her teeth into another roommate's neck. She could still see it clearly. The zombie roommate had lifted that blood-slicked face, mouth stuffed with raw neck meat, staring at her with those horrifying, dripping jaws.Four years later, zombies were everywhere, and panic-stricken humans were everywhere. She had always considered herself a little lucky, a little skilled, managing to survive in this chaotic apocalypse. However, upon seeing that zombie now, that raw, brutal force, yanked her right back into that same paralyzing fear. Survival so far hadn't been about strength. It had been pure luck. She couldn't help but glance at Theresa. Then, in the next second, she saw something she knew she would never forget for the rest of her life. A burst of fire shot up, engulfing the woman in a blinding blaze. She was on fire, literally burning as the flames roared around her like a living beast. The giant zombie's billboard stopped midair just inches from Theresa. She caught it with her bare hands. That kind of strength was something only a giant zombie should have. After a couple of seconds of struggle, Theresa gripped the billboard with both hands, pulled hard, and somehow tore it free from the giant zombie's grasp. Boom! She swung it right back at the zombie. Boom! The billboard's metal poles jammed straight through the giant zombie's chest—splintering ribs, tearing into its lungs, heart, and gut. Even so, the giant zombie didn't seem to care. It let out a guttural roar, those pale, lifeless eyes burning with rage, and charged again with terrifying speed. Theresa's silhouette flickered upward. She moved like a cat—fast, silent, lethal. One step on the twisted billboard frame, then she launched herself straight for its head. She was moving so fast the air seemed to rip around her. Too fast for the zombie to react, too fast for anyone to follow. A metallic slice cut through the air. Her katana drove right into the zombie's forehead. Theresa gripped the handle tight and shoved it in deeper, her muscles trembling with power. That was her super strength. The katana tore through rotted flesh and bone like paper. Theresa planted her foot on the giant zombie's skull, yanked the sword free, and slashed backward in one clean motion. "Meet your end!" She stood on the giant zombie's head, steady as an archer drawing her bow. A flare of light burst behind her. Theresa sliced straight through its skull. A gush of yellowish-white brain matter streaked with black poured out like someone had turned on a faucet. The giant zombie let out a guttural scream, thrashing in pain. Theresa's expression didn't even twitch. No matter how hard the giant zombie shook, she held on tighter, driving her blade toward the gleamstones. There was a sharp crack as the blade pulled free, and an egg-sized gleamstone popped out. Still in midair, Theresa caught it effortlessly. The giant zombie collapsed beneath her, its body twitching as it crushed half a dozen smaller ones beneath its weight. Louisa could only stare. Theresa had taken that thing down with a single strike, using nothing but raw strength. The way she fought was clean, brutal, and unstoppable. Louisa couldn't help thinking she was watching a goddess of war come to life. This is what real power looks like. This is what a true genius girl is. She's so strong it's impossible not to look up to her."She's got both strength-type and speed-type abilities," Liam said. "And her power level's way higher than mine. Like…I can't even tell how many times stronger. That's how she managed to crack open that giant zombie's skull." But his words didn't stir anyone. No one even blinked. It was already way beyond what they could wrap their heads around.
