At that thought, Jensen let out a low growl. "Natalie, there’s no point in leaving with him! You drank my amnesia drug, and soon you’ll forget all about Baron! You won't even remember who you are! Even if I can't have you, Baron won’t get to keep you either!" "What did you say?" Baron instantly turned, wanting nothing more than to kill Jensen. Jensen was laughing hysterically, yet tears streamed down his eyes. He regretted it! He didn't want to see Natalie hurt at all! But there was no such thing as regret medicine in this world. Natalie clung tightly to Baron’s arm, which was intent on killing Jensen, and whispered, "He did force me to drink a drug. I don’t want to forget you, Baron. If Jensen was a moment of youthful confusion, then you, I hope, will be my companion for the rest of my life." Baron had always longed to hear Natalie say these things, but hearing them now, in this place and time, made his heart feel shattered. "Don’t worry, sweetheart, we will grow old together. Even if you forget me, I will make you remember me." Baron didn't dare waste another second. He picked up Natalie and rushed out of the basement. Jensen tried to shout threats, but Shauna swiftly kicked him away. "Trash! It wasn’t enough that you almost burned the Madam alive last time, and now you try to assault her? Are you even a man?" "Don’t hit my son!"Loretta saw Shauna treating Jensen this way and shrieked, but she couldn't break free from the guards holding her. Shauna saw this and sneered, "Since you care about your son so much, you can join him." With that, she ordered her people to beat Loretta half to death. Baron carried Natalie out of the basement and drove immediately to the hospital. He didn't trust anyone else with the surgery and personally took charge of Natalie’s emergency treatment. Waylon and Ruby received the news and rushed to the hospital. Ruby’s face was utterly pale. "How did she get injured?" "That bastard Jensen! I’m going to kill him!" Waylon was so furious that he immediately called his subordinates. Learning that Jensen had already been tortured to within an inch of his life by Baron’s men was still not enough to satisfy his anger. "He likes using drugs, doesn't he? Prepare some itching powder for him. Sprinkle it on his wounds and let him truly experience what it feels like to be controlled by chemicals!" Upon Waylon's command, Shauna’s people immediately carried out the order. Baron used every ounce of his self-control to suppress his panic before starting the surgery on Natalie. A little over an hour later, Natalie’s surgery was highly successful. Baron wheeled Natalie out and saw Waylon and Ruby waiting outside. His eyes immediately turned red. "Mom, Dad, I’m sorry, I let Natalie suffer. Her physical wound is not a big deal, but Jensen forced her to drink an amnesia drug. I don't know if she will remember us when she wakes up!" The thought that Natalie had endured such misery because of his failure to act made Baron hate himself. Ruby heard him, saw his distress, and said, "Amnesia drug? That was just mint water. I had someone swap the medicine from the person Loretta intended to buy it from." Baron immediately froze. Ruby then explained how she had been monitoring Loretta. When she discovered Loretta was trying to buy such a drug, she sensed malicious intent. Although she didn't know who it was meant for, Ruby took precautions and had someone switch the liquid. She never expected Loretta to use the drug on her daughter. Ruby was boiling with rage at the old woman. "When I get back, I’m going to personally torment her thoroughly." Baron's immense relief after hearing Ruby's words finally allowed him to relax. "My dear mother, you are truly my lifesaver!" Baron nearly knelt down before Ruby. He could barely imagine what he would do if Natalie had truly forgotten him. He had just heard Natalie confess her love for him and promise to grow old with him. If she suddenly forgot him, Baron felt he would kill himself. Waylon noticed the raw intensity in Baron’s eyes, then looked back at the operating room, and suddenly asked, "I remember you had a good relationship with the Witch Doctor before. Don’t tell me now that you even learned surgery from the Witch Doctor." Ruby paused upon hearing this, then suddenly looked toward Baron."Baron, could it be that you are..." "Yes, I am the Witch Doctor." Baron admitted it directly. After nearly being separated from Natalie forever, there was nothing he couldn't confess. "Mom and Dad, I’m sorry I kept this a secret from you and Natalie. I was afraid Natalie would think I was a bad person. After all, five years ago, I only agreed to help save Jensen on the condition that I receive her ovum. In some ways, I was quite despicable. But now I’ve come to terms with it. As long as Natalie is well, she can punish me however she sees fit."
