Grief, Betrayals, and a Core of Blaze
"You won't despise her, and that’s all that matters! As long as she doesn't belong to Baron, and she forgets the Stone family and Baron, she’ll be the same orphan driven out of the Summers family five years ago! She’ll be a dodder flower, only able to survive by clinging to you! Think about how happy and wonderful those five years you spent together were!" As Loretta spoke, the drug in her hand was completely poured into Natalie’s mouth. The rough action and the choking liquid finally woke Natalie up, but she realized that Loretta was forcing something down her throat. She struggled violently, trying to spit the liquid out, but she couldn't overpower Loretta. Loretta was also straining. Seeing Natalie awake, she immediately shouted toward Jensen. "What are you waiting for? Hurry up and help me hold her down!" Natalie’s eyes snapped open, and she instinctively looked at Jensen standing beside them. Seeing the look of disappointment in Natalie’s eyes, Jensen instinctively averted his face, but his hands were already fiercely restraining Natalie's legs. "Natalie! I’m sorry! This drug will take effect quickly, and then you won’t be in so much pain. We will go back to how things were five years ago. You will be my only woman and my beloved. I promise I will never be fickle again; I will only treat you well. No matter what you become, even if you are mentally impaired or simple-minded, I will love you as a precious treasure. We will stay together for the rest of our lives, okay?" Jensen didn't dare to look into Natalie’s eyes as he said this. He knew just how despicable he was right now. He used to despise people like this, and now he had become one. Let alone Natalie, Jensen was deeply disappointed in himself. But what else could he do? He had nothing left now. He couldn't out-compete Baron, and he couldn't fight the Stone family. If he wanted to be with Natalie, this was his only way! Natalie didn't know why Jensen was saying these things, but she knew she had been force-fed something. The liquid was cold, and drinking it made her throat feel much clearer; there was a faint hint of mint. "What exactly did you force me to drink?" Natalie was furious. Loretta, seeing that Natalie had consumed all the drug, finally released her and said coldly, "It’s an amnesia drug. In a little while, you will forget your husband and your family. Your mind will be a blank slate, and you’ll only be able to be with our Jensen. Natalie, to be honest, I don't think much of you. If Jensen wasn't absolutely fixated on you, I would never have spent all my money buying this drug for you. From now on, you’ll live properly with our Jensen and give him two children. Although we left the Luke family, with Jensen’s business acumen, he won’t let you suffer. Meeting Jensen means you must have done something truly great in your past life." Natalie listened to Loretta’s rambling, only catching the key detail. Amnesia drug? They actually forced an amnesia drug down her throat? That meant she would gradually forget Baron, her children, her parents, and her brothers, is that right? No! I won't allow it! "Jensen, you bastard! Have you lost your mind? What amnesia drug? Has it been certified by the FDA? Aren’t you afraid you’ll turn me into an idiot?" "If you become an idiot, that’s just your fate! Jensen said he won’t despise you even if you’re impaired or simple-minded. What more could you be unhappy about?" Loretta's expression was starting to look unpleasant. Natalie was so angry she laughed. "What am I happy about? I have a loving husband, adorable children, and parents and brothers who dote on me. Why would I forget them to be with a man who betrayed me, hurt me, and almost burned me alive?" Hearing her mention the children, Jensen’s eyes instantly turned red. "How dare you mention the children!" Jensen grabbed Natalie’s neck, veins popping out on his hand. He looked at Natalie, his eyes bloodshot, and asked, word by word, "Five years ago, when you begged the Witch Doctor to save me, besides donating a rib, did you sleep with him? Tell me, did you? My suspicions are all true, aren't they? You cheated on me five years ago! Natalie, you are the one who wronged me first!" Natalie was completely and utterly disappointed in the man before her and naturally held no good expectations for anything he might say. Even so, hearing Jensen slander her still enraged her. "Jensen, your own thoughts are filthy. Don't assume everyone else is as morally corrupt as you are." "My thoughts are filthy? I admit I was involved with Sherry, but what about you? Why won't you admit it? Those twins are yours and the Witch Doctor’s children, aren't they? They're already so old! And you still dare to say you didn't cheat on me?"
