Grief, Betrayals, and a Core of Blaze
When Jensen saw Susie, he was momentarily stunned. Why does this child look a little like Natalie when she was small? He distinctly remembered Natalie showing him her childhood pictures. Jensen wanted to take a step forward to ask something, but sensing that someone was coming, he quickly hid. Sean had followed Susie out because he was a little worried about her going alone. "Don’t you know roses have thorns? Aren’t you afraid of pricking your hands?" Although Sean liked Holt now, he was still a little uncomfortable with Susie’s excessive doting on Holt. Seeing her brother arrive, Susie quickly chuckled and said, "You pick it for me then." "Why should I pick it for you?" "Oh, you’re the best! Please!" Susie’s sweet, coaxing voice and actions instantly made Jensen, who was hiding in the shadows, feel a strange sense of déjà vu. Natalie used to act just like this when she was being affectionate with him. Could this pair of twins possibly have some connection to Natalie? Before Jensen could figure it out, Natalie had already stepped outside, wearing Baron’s jacket. "What are you two little rascals doing out here?" "Mommy!" Upon seeing Natalie, Susie and Sean happily shouted and ran to hug her. Natalie joyfully embraced them both, an action that made Jensen, hidden in the shadows, freeze entirely. What did they call her? Mommy? Why would they call Natalie Mommy? Jensen’s eyes immediately turned red. These two children didn't look very old. Could they be adopted? No. Why would Natalie adopt children? His mind instantly flashed back to the deal Natalie made with the Witch Doctor five years ago to save him. Could it be that Natalie really slept with the Witch Doctor then? Otherwise, where did she get children from? The features of the two children in front of him were strikingly similar to Natalie's. No one would believe they weren’t her biological children. Jensen clenched his hands tightly. He felt betrayed. He had trusted Natalie so completely. Even when he had suspected her in the past, hadn't she told him she hadn't slept with anyone else? Then what are these two children in front of me? Baron happened to walk out at this moment. Seeing the two children rush into Natalie’s arms, he couldn't help but pull them away. "You two are so heavy. Aren’t you afraid of bumping Mommy?" "Oh, Daddy, it’s bad enough that you monopolize Mommy all the time, and now you’re fighting with us too." Susie pouted in dissatisfaction. Sean also grumbled, "Exactly! You said Mommy was busy and couldn’t be with us for the first three years, which was fine. Now that Mommy is finally with us, you still try to hog her. That’s too much!" Seeing the three of them acting like this, Natalie burst out laughing. "All right, Baron. For the past three years, I didn't know they existed, so I really didn't spend much time with the children. Now, what's wrong with me spending some time with them? Don’t be so stingy." Hearing Natalie say that, Baron immediately looked miserable. "If I had known these two little rascals would compete with me for you, I wouldn’t have let them be born five years ago." "There, there." Afraid he would throw another childish tantrum, Natalie directly handed the children into Baron’s arms and said, "You take them inside first. I'll pick a rose for Holt and be right there." "You spoil them too much." Baron rolled his eyes at Natalie but still obediently carried the two children, one on each side, inside. Natalie watched their retreating figures, smiling contentedly. She shook her head and reached out to grab the scissors nearby to cut a rose, but instead of the scissors, she touched a pair of hands. Natalie was startled and tried to scream, but a hand clamped down firmly over her mouth. "It’s me." Jensen’s figure emerged.Seeing Jensen at this moment, Natalie felt an inexplicable fear. She tried to struggle, but then she saw a cold glint flash in Jensen’s eyes. He delivered a swift chop, and Natalie felt a sudden pain in her neck and instantly lost consciousness. Jensen quickly caught her body and swiftly disappeared from the Gunn family villa. After Baron brought the two children inside, he waited a little while but still didn't see Natalie return. He started to feel uneasy. "I’m going to see if your Mommy pricked her hand on a rose. Why isn't she back yet?" Baron’s words also made the two children a bit anxious. "No way? Do rose thorns really hurt that much?" Susie didn't quite understand. Baron waved his hand, having no patience to explain to the children. He rushed out to the garden but found no sign of Natalie.
