He Cheated. I Rose.

Chapter 249 From Fan to Foe

Emily walked over to the vanity and picked up a small green snake from behind it—just a plastic toy. Carolyn stared at the mark on her skin. Now there was only a tiny spot of blood on her finger. Up close, it was clearly nothing more than a scratch—not a snakebite at all. They had tricked her. All of them. They made her think a snake had bitten her. They messed with her head and made her panic. She fell into their trap. She confessed to everything right in front of everyone. Even that scene earlier, where Emily was taken away—it was all an act. Now she had no way out. "Chloe, you set this up, didn't you?" Carolyn said, her voice shaking. "You knew it was me from the start. You wanted to shame me." "You did this to yourself, Carolyn. You picked the wrong enemy." Chloe didn't bother arguing. She just looked toward the officers. "She's all yours now." "Take her away." The police moved quickly. They grabbed Carolyn and started pulling her out. "Chloe, if you do this... Mom and Dad will make you pay! Just you wait—I won't let this go!" Carolyn screamed, fighting to break free, lunging toward Chloe. But the officers held her tight and dragged her out. As they stepped into the hall, the whole crew was there—watching. Their faces were full of disgust. Carolyn saw them too. In the crowd stood not only Brian, but even Edwin from Kellian Media. Right then, she knew—her career was over. She didn't kill Chloe—she destroyed herself. How did things turn out this way? Emily watched them take Carolyn away, her heart sinking. She pulled out her phone, opened the large fan group, and sent a voice message."I'm sorry, everyone. I was wrong about Carolyn. I led you all to support someone who didn't deserve it. That's on me. I'm disbanding this group. From now on, I'll only support Oralia." The group chat lit up instantly. People had already heard bits of what Carolyn had done. Now they were disgusted. They had cheered for her and promoted the film Rebirth everywhere—only to realize they'd been backing someone awful. One person suggested keeping the group but changing its focus. Emily was an Oralia fan now, and many of them liked Oralia too. Why not support her together? Tears welled in Emily's eyes. She quickly texted that the group would be renamed "Oralia's Support Club." From that moment on, they would stand behind Oralia alone. When she finished, Emily put her phone away and walked over to Chloe. "Ms. Lewis... thank you for giving me another shot to choose again." She bowed her head, sincere and respectful."Go ahead," Chloe said softly, giving her shoulder a light pat. As Chloe turned to leave, she found Oralia waiting by the door. Oralia smiled warmly, then glanced toward Emily and stepped forward, offering her hand. "Don't worry. I won't let you down." "Thank you, Oralia!" Chloe smiled and walked out. Just outside, a tall figure stood waiting. Eugene. He'd been there the whole time. "I brought my car. Let me take you," he said simply. Chloe knew what he was really after. She replied calmly, "I already told Robert I'd take him out for seafood tonight." "Perfect. Cosmos Group just invested in a new commercial center. The restaurants in there even have a section just for seafood." Chloe studied his serious expression and didn't refuse."Alright. I'll call Robert and tell him to wait. We can pick him up on the way." "Sounds good," Eugene said, his tone easy—like they did this every day. Right before the meal ended, the restaurant manager walked over to Chloe holding a bouquet of roses and handed it to her. She eyed the flowers—expensive Austin roses—and raised a brow at the man across from her. "Since when do you use moves like this, Mr. Rosewood?" "I'm officially pursuing you. Got to do things properly, right? I'll learn whatever it takes." His smile was soft, but his eyes were intense as they met hers. "I meant what I said—I'm serious about you." "You—" "No need to answer now. I know it takes time for you to get over that gross last relationship. I can wait. Even if you turn me down, I won't walk away." His smile deepened. "If you say no, it just means I haven't tried hard enough. So I'll try harder."Chloe almost laughed. Was he for real? The richest man in the world—and he was this cheesy? It sounded like he'd memorized lines from some romance movie. How many times had he rehearsed this? Across the table, Robert—happily chewing on a giant crab leg—paused and shot Eugene a look.
