The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
A Beast Without Huntress wrote, 'As for the last situation, that's a secret of the Suncrest Lineage on Central Planet. I only know about it because I'm from the Suncrest clan myself. No one from any other tribe has a clue. 'I've heard that this human female had much weaker senses than beastfolk, but her genes were flawless. She not only trained incredibly fast, but even more importantly, her blood could help males level up. 'Man, I'm only telling you this secret because you seem so genuine. Don't spread it everywhere. 'There was a story going around, saying that one of our Suncrest clan members had a terrible talent. But after using the blood of a human female, he made it all the way to level 13. 'But something happened after that. Not long after he hit level 13, he ended up meeting the Beast God. I read all this in our clan's library, but there's only a little bit written down. Whether it's really true or not, I can't say.' The moment Edric got the message, the sender deleted it in under three seconds. He had no idea what kind of status "A Beast Without Huntress" had in the Suncrest tribe. Judging by that username, his life probably wasn't that great. That was probably why, after getting that ten million star coin reward, he spilled everything he knew. A gene disorder? A human? Neither of those possibilities was what Edric wanted to hear. A gene disorder would mean Emma's body was at risk, maybe even that she wouldn't live long. But if she's human, that would be even more dangerous. Why would a beastfolk from the Suncrest clan know that human females have perfect genes? And he even knew that human female blood could help beastfolk advance? If someone with perfect genes had ever appeared in the Empire, there would have been a huge uproar. The only way nobody heard about it would be if some really powerful beastfolk had covered it up. So, where did that human female in the story go? If a human with flawless genes and blood that could help beastfolk advance ever appeared, everyone would be after her. The consequences would be terrifying. The Empire had a history of violence against females. In fact, there were quite a few cases. Sometimes, beastfolk didn't like the huntress the Beast God matched them with, but because of the beast mark, they couldn't hurt their mate before becoming official partners, so they'd bribe some outcast beastfolk, those exiles banished from the Empire by the Beast God.They'd have these outcasts go after the females they wanted to harm. Some nobles in the Empire even kept these exiles around just to do their dirty work. Even the Interstellar Hunter Alliance kept a batch of such exiles in the outer regions. Edric hoped more than ever that Emma's problem was just the first type. She'd lived alone and fought so many beasts, and maybe her sense of smell had been damaged by an old injury. She probably just didn't want anyone to know. If it were one of the other two possibilities, then it made even more sense that Emma hadn't told him. They hadn't known each other long, and they weren't bonded as mates yet, so anything could happen. She had every reason not to trust him completely yet. He understood. But how was he supposed to figure out which case it was? Edric wasn't the only one wondering. Coalball, tossed on the bed, quietly leaned against the tied-up Corvin, thinking it over too. After Emma's warning, Corvin didn't dare bully Coalball, so he just stretched his neck over and started plucking Coalball's feathers. In just a short time, Coalball's right wing was almost bald. However, Coalball was lost in thought and didn't notice. Emma finished changing and came out, only to find Coalball was now half bald. "Corvin, stop that!" Her angry shout snapped Edric and Coalball out of their thoughts. Edric quickly shut down the lightcore and looked over. Coalball looked even uglier with half his feathers gone, and Edric couldn't help but twitch at the sight. Emma rushed over and rescued what little was left of Coalball's feathers from Corvin's mouth. "Corvin, look what you did to Coalball!" Corvin still had black feathers stuck to his mouth. Seeing her angry again, he tried to hide them by tucking his head in. Lucien only realized how bald he was after Emma scooped him up. His fiery feathers had been burned away in the explosion, and this black layer was supposed to tide him over until new feathers grew. However, thanks to Corvin, he was left totally exposed. Being a prince of the Empire, having to be half-naked in front of a female was humiliating.
