The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 480 She Wouldn't Have To Suffer

Emma looked a little torn. She looked at Lucien, gently biting her lower lip, and said softly, "But Lucien, I've already decided to keep him." Lucien stared at her in shock. "Emma, don't you dislike babies?" "No, I don't," Emma explained. "I didn't really want one in the past, though. That was because I thought once I had a baby, I would have to stick with it every second of the day. Just imagining a bunch of little ones chirping noisily around me gave me a headache." As she mentioned this, she thought of Remy, and her voice turned gentle. "But ever since Remy came along, Silas has been taking care of him most of the time. My life hasn't really been affected that much. That's why I'm not against having a baby anymore." She looked at Lucien seriously. "He's our child. I can't just erase him so casually." Hearing Emma clearly say that she wanted to keep the baby, Lucien grew anxious. "But Emma, you're throwing up so badly right now. If you keep this baby, you'll be going through a lot." Seeing how worried he looked, Emma immediately understood everything. She looked at him and asked, "You don't want this baby because it's making me feel nauseous, right?" "It's not…" Lucien tried to argue, but she had already seen through him. "Stop trying to deny it. I can tell." She smiled and reached out to pinch his cheek lightly. "If it's only because of that, you don't need to worry. Alaric has a way to transfer my pregnancy symptoms to the baby's father instead." "Really?" Lucien still didn't quite believe it. "Emma, you're not lying to me, are you?" "Why would I lie to you?" Emma said. She would never joke about something like this. She cared a lot about her own health, after all. "If you don't believe me, you can ask Marcus. He heard it too. And if you still don't believe it, you can call Alaric over right now and ask him yourself." Marcus, whose name had just been mentioned, immediately nodded."Emma is right. Alaric did say that it's possible. But he also said that once the pregnancy symptoms are transferred to the baby's father, the suffering will be doubled." He'd added the last part himself, and it wasn't true at all. "Really?" Lucien tightened his grip on Emma's hands, his eyes filled with excitement. "As long as it means you won't suffer, I'll accept anything." Even if the pain increased tenfold, he wouldn't care. Calum, who had been standing at the door in silence the whole time, finally spoke up. "I'll go get Alaric right away and have him transfer the pain to Lucien. Emma needs to recover as soon as possible." Seeing how pale she looked already made his heart ache. "There's no need to call me. I'm already here." Alaric walked in, his gaze gentle as it fell on Emma. "I saw that Prince Lucien and Marshal Calum had returned. I guessed you might need me, so I came over on my own." Alaric was still dressed in a spotless white robe. His long, silver-white hair was loosely tied back with a jade hairpin, a few strands falling beside his refined, elegant face. His features were delicate, his presence otherworldly, like an immortal who did not belong to the mortal realm. Calum rolled his eyes inwardly as he looked at Alaric like this. That sly fox really knew how to seize every opportunity. He didn't miss a single chance to show off in front of Calum's woman. Dressed like that, was he really here to treat an illness? Or was he here to flirt? Alaric didn't glance at Calum. Instead, his eyes fell on Lucien, still kneeling on the floor. "Prince Lucien, are you ready to transfer the morning sickness onto yourself?" "Yes!" Lucien didn't hesitate at all and nodded immediately. Feeling slightly reassured, he asked, "Alaric, this won't have any effect on Emma's body, will it?""Rest assured, Prince Lucien. I'll make sure she doesn't suffer at all," he answered. After speaking, he looked at Lucien and gave a faint, reassuring smile. "Prince Lucien, you should worry more about yourself. After all, morning sickness can be severe." As long as Emma was safe, Lucien didn't care how much he would suffer. Alaric deftly took a strangely-shaped silver device from his storage band. It had several rare energy crystals embedded on it, and complex runes etched across its surface. "Prince Lucien, I'll need a drop of blood from you." He placed the device and a bloodletting needle in front of Lucien. Lucien frowned and asked, "Do you need Emma's blood too?" Alaric shook his head. "I only need a single strand of hair from her." Lucien understood. Swiftly, he pricked his finger and let two drops of blood fall onto the device. Emma, following Alaric's instructions, plucked a single hair. She looked at the device in Alaric's hands and couldn't help but feel it was somewhat reminiscent of the mirror Kieran had given her before, the one used to confirm the baby's father.
