The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 424 Embarrassing Himself

From the side of the robe, starting at the top of his thigh, several thin silver chains connected the fabric together. As he stood there, the firm, long lines of his legs could be seen faintly through the gaps between the chains. Calum took a deep breath at the doorway, raising his hand to knock again. Emma would be pleased to see him like this, right? He pressed his lips together nervously. "Come in!" Emma's voice came from inside the room. Calum took another deep breath, pressed down on the door handle, and pushed the door open. Silas, Marcus, Edric, Kieran, and Lucien all turned to look at Calum at the same time. "Pfft!" Seeing how Calum was dressed, everyone sucked in a sharp breath. "D*mn…" Edric couldn't help muttering under his breath. No one would've imagined Calum to be kinkier than Silas. Even as a man, Edric was taken aback by that outfit. Calum, the man who was usually as rigid as an iceberg, was even more daring in private compared to Silas. Silas dressed provocatively, but Calum's sheer nightwear was on an entirely different level. That nearly transparent, stardust-like fabric looked like a thin layer of mist under moonlight. Paired with the markings on his body, he looked almost like a god descending from the heavens. "Why are you all staring at me like that?" Meeting their gazes, Calum's face turned slightly red. Seeing their casual clothing made him feel even more out of place. Only Lucien was wearing a proper uniform, and everyone else was dressed casually. Had he overdone it? Emma seemed to like it, though. She was staring at him, clearly stunned. Calum looked at her, feeling secretly pleased. As long as she liked it, dressing a little over the top was fine. After all, he was here to sleep beside her. And later, once he was on the bed, this outfit would come off anyway. With that thought, Calum quickly calmed down. The redness on his face faded away. "I'm here, Ms. Tibarn." He straightened his back and walked toward Emma, looking completely at ease. With each step, the silver chains at his side swayed slightly, making faint sounds. The firm lines of his legs appeared and disappeared under the shifting light, giving off an almost irresistible pull. Emma came back to her senses. Watching him approach, her eyelid twitched hard. Calum, Lucien, and Silas must have been coached by the same person. Though they each wore different nightwear, they had similar tactics. Perhaps they weren't a direct copy of each other, but definitely from the same school. "Calum, you—"Emma looked at him as he finally stood in front of her. She had just started to speak when he grabbed her hand. "You don't have to say anything, Ms. Tibarn. I understand." As he spoke, he bent down and directly lifted her into his arms. Emma was stunned speechless. "Ms. Tibarn, I'll carry you to the bed!" Calum assumed she was just shy and too embarrassed to make the first move. "Put me down right now. You've misunderstood!" Emma quickly spoke, slipping out of his arms. Lucien immediately stepped forward and stopped Calum. "Marshal, we are here tonight to stay with Emma and watch over Remy. Not to do anything else." Calum was caught off guard, and he stared at Emma in disbelief. "Is that true, Ms. Tibarn?" Nothing else? Did he just waste such a good outfit? Emma nodded. "It's true. Calum, you've gotten the wrong idea."She hadn't expected him to be bolder than Silas. Seeing the way he dressed, if no one else had been in the room tonight, she would have… Calum stared at Emma, his tall body frozen in place. A rush of heat surged straight to the top of his head. He felt all the blood in his body flood to his face, burning so hot that his mind went dizzy and black spots danced before his eyes. "We're here to keep Remy company?" He repeated the words in a low voice, broken and trembling. Were they not going to make love tonight? Were they only looking after Remy? Did he just spend hours getting ready for nothing? He'd even carried Emma to bed with such confidence moments ago. Calum felt like he was about to die of embarrassment. Seeing how embarrassed Calum was, Marcus wanted to laugh. However, Silas quickly covered his mouth and shook his head subtly. Unlike Lucien, Calum could not take a joke lightly. Silas worried that if Marcus laughed, he might end up tattered and beaten if he had to challenge Calum to a duel. Emma went to grab a blanket and draped it over Calum. "Calum, you don't need to be embarrassed. It's my fault for not making things clear," she said comfortingly. Admittedly, she had done so on purpose. She just didn't expect Calum to dress like that. The first time, Marcus and the others had all dressed normally. When Lucien came in, she'd barely managed to control herself after seeing the man in his uniform. Calum felt even more embarrassed after hearing Emma's words.
