The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Kieran placed the fish tank onto the coffee table beside the couch. Emma nodded. "As long as you're able to sleep comfortably." Silas was speechless. It turned out Kieran knew too. He then looked at Emma. "Emma, did they all sleep like this before?" Silas guessed that Edric, Marcus, and even Kieran must have gone through this as well. Otherwise, they wouldn't have prepared everything so thoroughly. Emma smiled and nodded. "Of course." Marcus lay on the blanket, half-dead as he opened his eyes to look at Silas, who was still in a daze. He said sarcastically, "Yeah, we're all here to keep Ms. Tibarn company while she watches over Remy. After all, we're a bunch of kind individuals with no ill intentions. Some people are sick in the mind for always getting the wrong idea." He even wanted a prize. How shameless of him!Marcus was blatantly jealous. Meanwhile, Silas couldn't care less. He gently touched Remy's shoulder, feeling relieved that he had arrived the earliest. Not to mention he'd dressed properly. Thinking about the two outfits he had picked out for Drake, Silas grinned and said, "I'll take the floor too." He was certain Edric and Marcus hadn't slept on the bed because of what happened the last round. Tonight, they had spread the blankets out beside the couch. Silas guessed that Emma had probably slept on the couch last time. "There are extra blankets in my room. Get one and lay it out on the floor yourself," Emma reminded him. Given the weather, the floorboards were chilly. Even though high-tier ability users weren't afraid of a little cold, it wasn't very comfortable to sleep without something underneath. It was better to lay down a blanket.Silas smiled and nodded. "I'll go get it right now." Very soon, Silas came back with a blanket. He spread it out directly in front of the couch, close enough that he could touch Emma just by raising his hand. Marcus looked at Silas unhappily. "Why do you get to sleep there?" Silas replied as if it were painfully obvious, "Emma wants Remy to see her first thing in the morning. Naturally, I've got to stay closer." After speaking, Silas looked at Emma. I'm right, aren't I?" The fight for favor seemed especially intense tonight, but she wanted to be close to Remy. But she really did want to stay close to Remy too. Emma nodded at Silas. "Yeah, I do want to be closer to Remy. It's alright, Silas can sleep here." Marcus was at a loss for words. He wanted a kid who could give him privileges! Knock. Knock. Knock. The door sounded again, and Silas instantly looked toward the doorway.Marcus, Edric, and Kieran all turned to look as well. A faint smile appeared in Silas' deep blue eyes, with a hint of schadenfreude hidden inside. Earlier, he had only clung to Emma to ask for a kiss, so it hadn't been too awkward. But the people arriving next… That was really something to look forward to. "Who's standing outside now, Emma?" Silas sat on the couch and asked with a smile. "I don't have X-ray vision. How would I know?" She seemed annoyed. Clearly, he was just enjoying the drama. She was just about to tell the person outside to come in when Marcus spoke up first. "Why don't we make a bet?" As he spoke, he took out a Rank 10 beast core and placed it on the table. "Let's guess who the next person is. Everyone puts down a bet, and whoever gets it right takes everything.""And what if everyone guesses correctly?" Edric asked. Marcus smirked. "Simple. If everyone guesses the same, the prizes will go to Ms. Tibarn. "If more than one person guesses right, the items will be split among them." After speaking, Marcus glanced toward the door and said with a smile, "I'm guessing Calum's next." Silas tossed in a box of flowers. "I'm guessing it's Lucien outside right now." Kieran took out a rare mineral. "I'm also betting on Marshal Calum." After all, Calum seemed the most anxious of the bunch right now. Edric placed a rare metal on the table. "I'm guessing it's Drake." He believed that Drake was more anxious than both Calum and Lucien combined. Lucien was Emma's first partner, and Calum was Emma's match. Even if they hadn't bonded yet, at least he had some form of standing. It was only a matter of time.Only Drake had no title and no status, making him the most desperate. Silas looked at Emma. "Do you want to guess too?" She glanced at the items on the table, the corner of her mouth twitching. Knock. Knock. Knock. The knocking sounded again. Lucien stood outside the door. When he didn't hear Emma telling him to enter, he furrowed his brows. He raised his hand and knocked again, this time more urgently than before. "You four, keep it in check." Emma shot a warning look at Silas and the other three, then immediately called out, "Come in!" The sound of the lock turning came from outside, and the door swung open.
