The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Emma looked at him and was just about to lower her head... Roar! Outside, the roar of a warship filled the air. Emma froze. Silas spoke softly, "Emma, that's the sound of a warship. "It must be Lucien and Marcus coming home." When she heard Lucien and Marcus had returned, Emma quickly kissed Silas on the cheek, then jumped out of bed to get changed. Watching Emma dash into the walk-in closet, Silas reached up and touched the spot where she'd kissed him, letting out a helpless sigh. When will this life of living like a saint finally be over? Outside, the warship slowly landed. Emma ran out and immediately saw Lucien and Marcus stepping off the warship. "Lucien! Marcus!"She hurried over, her face full of delight. Marcus, who'd looked half-dead a moment ago, snapped to attention the instant he saw Emma. "Emma!" He called out excitedly. The next second, a blur of white flashed in front of Emma's eyes. Before she even realized what was happening, Marcus swept her up in a tight embrace. "Emma, I missed you so much." Marcus pressed his face into the crook of Emma's neck, his voice thick with longing. His arms were so tight, it was as if he wanted to merge Emma into his body. All these days away, he'd been thinking about her every moment. He thought he'd go crazy from missing her. Hearing his voice and feeling his strong heartbeat, Emma lifted her arms to hug him back and said gently, "Marcus, I missed you too." Lucien watched the two of them hugging and hurried down from the warship, stopping quietly at Emma's side. He didn't interrupt, but just waited calmly nearby. Emma sensed Lucien's presence and gently let go of Marcus. She turned to Lucien and opened her arms. "Lucien." Lucien's eyes lit up, and he immediately wrapped Emma in a hug. His embrace wasn't as tight as Marcus's, but it was filled with the same warmth and tenderness. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Emma, I'm home." "Welcome back." Emma rose on tiptoe and gave Lucien a light kiss on the cheek. That little kiss made Lucien's lips curve up uncontrollably. Marcus watched all this, feeling jealousy stab at his heart. Emma hadn't even kissed him just now—she only hugged him.He immediately stepped up, pouting. "Emma, me too. You didn't even kiss me just now." "Emma's playing favorites." Quickly, she let go of Lucien and gave Marcus a kiss on the cheek. After kissing Marcus, Emma stepped back and carefully looked the two of them over. Once she was sure they weren't hurt, she finally relaxed. "You both must've had a tough trip." "It wasn't tough at all." Marcus shook his head right away, taking the opportunity to grab Emma's hand. He gently traced his fingers along the back of her hand. "Emma, it wasn't hard at all. I just missed you so much." As soon as Marcus finished, his stomach let out a loud growl. His face turned bright red, his whole body stiffening like a rock. He wanted nothing more than to disappear into a hole right now. Marcus ducked his head, not even daring to look at Emma. "Emma... I... didn't do that on purpose. "It's just... It's been so long since I ate ... I'm a little hungry." He felt so mortified. He'd actually made that noise right in front of Emma. Ever since he'd bonded with Emma, his mental power and senses had come back. But out on the road these days, things had been rough. Emma had sent supplies, but he and Lucien finished them in just a couple of days. Marcus didn't want to drink nutrient fluid either. So he'd just been hungry. "Emma, since Marcus is hungry, let's go inside and eat while we talk." Lucien spoke up, rescuing Marcus from his embarrassment. He was hungry too, honestly.Emma looked at the two of them, feeling bad for both. They obviously hadn't eaten well while they were away. But... Emma said helplessly, "There's no regular meal today. "If you want to eat, it'll have to be barbecue." After saying that, she took out two nutrient fluids from her ring and handed them to Marcus and Lucien. "Drink these first. I'll have Silas and Edric get started on barbecue for you." Lucien took the nutrient fluid from Emma, frowning in confusion. "Why can't we eat regular food? Are we out of groceries?" "Because Calum blew up the kitchen." Silas came out of the house and explained to Lucien and Marcus. Emma nodded, adding, "This morning, Calum wanted Edric to teach him how to cook, but he messed up and blew up the kitchen." Both Lucien and Marcus were speechless. Marcus grumbled, "What's wrong with Calum? Why'd he have to try cooking? "Did he get kicked in the head by a beast?" Emma saw Marcus's face cloud over and gently soothed him. "Don't be mad. The kitchen will be fixed today. "Tomorrow, I'll cook you a proper meal myself. All right?"
