The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 247 Kieran Returns

Emma had stayed in the hospital for almost four days. They had used every kind of medicine they could find. They even used holy medicine. Marcus and Aria both had some, and they gave it to her. Her illness still had not improved. That meant even the holy medicine did not work on her. If that failed, the only thing left that could save Emma was the Beast God's fruit. Beast God's fruit? The subordinate looked at Malrik in shock. "Mr. Malrik, are you the one who's sick?" What kind of illness did Mr. Malrik have that needed the Beast God's fruit? The fruit only grew on Beast God Mountain. It was said to grow near the Beast God himself and took a hundred years to ripen. Only five fruits grew each time. Every five hundred years, the Beast God would grant one fruit to the world. Not just on Central Planet but in the entire Interstellar Empire, it was nearly impossible to find even one. "You don't need to know that much. Just find the Beast God's fruit and report back to me within three days." After giving the order, Malrik went back to the manor right away. He could not stay out too long, or Marcus would get suspicious. He first sent others to search for the fruit. If they still could not find any clues within three days, he would go to Beast God Mountain himself. As long as he could get the fruit and cure Emma, he would not regret it, even if it cost him his life there. The next morning, Emma got up. As soon as Corvin opened the door, he saw the little rabbit lying at the doorway. "Cotton Candy, why are you sleeping outside Emma's door?" So Emma's suspicion had been right after all. The rabbit was definitely not normal. What kind of rabbit would sleep by its owner's door out of worry? "Cotton Candy, are you worried about Emma?" Corvin frowned and picked up the rabbit. "I'll take you to her. She's sitting on the balcony getting some sun. Just be quiet, okay? Don't bother her." Malrik stayed still in Corvin's arms but carefully remembered what Corvin said. Emma needed rest. He could not disturb her. Corvin carried the rabbit to the balcony and spoke softly to Emma, who was sitting there. "Emma, I'll go get your breakfast. Let Cotton Candy keep you company for now." Emma looked even paler than she had yesterday. She seemed too weak to move and leaned against the balcony post. When she saw the rabbit in Corvin's arms, she gave a faint smile and patted the spot beside her, signaling him to put the rabbit there. The morning sunlight was warm and gentle. From the balcony, Emma could see the view of the artificial lake. Tiny fish jumped out of the water and splashed back in. The flowers around the lake were in full bloom, and dew drops hung on the petals. Emma gently ran her fingers over Malrik's back. Her tone carried a hint of sadness. "Cotton Candy, don't you think this view is beautiful too? It's a shame. I might never get to see it again." Squeak! Ms. Tibarn, no. I'll make sure you get better. Malrik had no interest in the scenery. All he could see was Emma. "Ms. Tibarn..." Suddenly, a calm voice came from downstairs. Kieran stood by the lake, pulling a huge suitcase behind him. He smiled happily and waved at Emma on the balcony. "Ms. Tibarn, I'm back." "Kieran?" When she saw the man by the lake, Emma's eyes brightened with surprise. She did not forget she was supposed to be acting, so she weakly waved at him, telling him to come up. Therians had excellent eyesight. Kieran saw her pale face clearly from below. The smile on his face froze. The next second, he dropped his suitcase and flew straight up to the balcony. When he saw how weak and pale Emma looked, his heart twisted with pain. Tears instantly filled his eyes. Plop, plop. Pink pearls fell one by one to the ground. "Ms. Tibarn, what happened to you?" She had been perfectly fine when he left. Emma looked at the pearls that kept falling onto the floor. She resisted the urge to pick them all up and spoke weakly. "Kieran, I'm sick. I might not be able to be your master anymore." When Kieran heard that, he cried even harder. She had been fine when he left. How could she suddenly get so sick? "Ms. Tibarn, no. You'll get better." More and more pearls fell to the floor. Some rolled to the edge of the balcony and slipped through the railings. Emma's heart ached as she watched. She had to ask Corvin to help her pick them up later. Those pearls were as big as pigeon eggs. Losing even one made her heart ache. Kieran cried harder, and the more he cried, the more pearls rolled downstairs. Emma could hardly sit still. Those weren't just pearls falling. Those were Kieran's tears. The little fish in the lake looked pretty, but Kieran looked even prettier when he cried.
