The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Just as Emma was about to leave, Marcus suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist. "What is it?" Emma turned to look at him, puzzled. Something was definitely off about Marcus today. Was he really in his heat period? Marcus raised his other hand and pointed at his face. "I want one too." Emma was speechless. What on earth was wrong with him? He wouldn't say a word, even when she asked. Still, she leaned forward and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. Then, she hurried into the resting cabin. Marcus stood there, watching her disappearing figure as he felt his chest. His heartbeat had gone out of control several times today, but strangely, it felt good. … Inside the cabin, Emma went to check on Edric. He still hadn't woken up, but his breathing was steady, and his powers were gradually stabilizing after his advancement. Emma bent down and kissed him gently on the cheek. She had kissed Corvin and Marcus, so her little Edric couldn't be left out. After checking on him, she picked out a set of clothes and went to shower. When she came out, Corvin had already finished preparing dinner. What surprised her, though, was that Marcus wasn't lying in his usual crystal coffin—he was actually helping Corvin cook. When Emma walked over, Marcus was busy juicing some fruit. As soon as he saw her, he picked up a glass of freshly pressed juice, chilled it with his ice ability, and handed it to her. "It's made from those red fruits today, Ms. Tibarn. Try it!" Marcus didn't know what the fruit was called, but since his Emma had called it a cherry, he followed suit. The deep red juice instantly reminded Emma of the kiss they had shared earlier that day in the forest. Marcus, as stiff as a log, turned out to be surprisingly good at this stuff. Her cheeks warmed slightly as she quickly took the glass from him and took a sip. "It's delicious!" The chilled cherry juice was perfectly sweet and tangy, the ultimate summer refreshment. Marcus' gaze lingered on the trace of red juice at the corner of Emma's lips, and his Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he gulped. He was just about to step forward when Emma quickly turned away. "I'll go see what Corvin's making for dinner." Frankly speaking, Emma was surrounded by handsome men every day, and they'd all be flirting with her constantly. She thought she was used to it by now. But for some reason, she felt flustered around Marcus. Watching Emma practically flee, Marcus frowned deeply, confusion filling his eyes. Why did she run off so quickly? Did she not want me? Did she not enjoy our kiss earlier? How am I supposed to make her enjoy it? Those books mentioned nothing about it! Marcus quickly pulled up his lightcore and opened one of the new links Corvin had sent him earlier. A soft, breathy moan came through the device. Emma, who had just turned back, froze mid-step. "Ms. Tibarn…" Seeing her, Marcus panicked and hurriedly shut off the screen. Corvin hadn't said these were videos! Emma walked over, her suspicion written all over her face. "Marcus, what were you just watching?" Whatever she heard was definitely not something that could be played in public. "I…" Marcus hid the lightcore behind his back, stammering as he said, "I was… I was just watching a tutorial." She was speechless. Did he really think she was that gullible? What kind of tutorial made sounds like that? It sounded like something out of an adult movie. She stared at Marcus, not expecting him to have a side like that! Or did all males indulge in those videos when they were in heat? Either way, it was his private business. Emma decided not to press the matter further and reached for the utensils on the kitchen counter. "Let me grab the knives and forks. Corvin's already made dinner. Do you want to join us?" To her, Corvin was still the best—so innocent and pure. Marcus put away his lightcore and nodded obediently, following behind Emma as they left the resting cabin together. Over on the other side, Aria's mate had also finished making dinner. While carrying her own bowl, Aria came over to Emma mysteriously and whispered, "Emma, I noticed you only bonded with Lucien, but not with your other partners. Do you not know how to?" Aria guessed that the only reason Emma managed to bond with Lucien was probably because he had used the special bonding method from Aurelia. At her words, Emma's face flushed bright red. She looked at Aria and asked, "Why are you suddenly asking me that?" Aria said honestly, "I saw you and Marcus today. He kept wanting to get close to you, which is an obvious sign of wanting to bond! "Meanwhile, it looked like you were embarrassed." Clearly, Emma didn't know how. Aria opened her lightcore eagerly. "It's okay if you're clueless. I've got some tutorials here, and I'll send them to you. Once you watch them, you'll get it right away. It's super easy!"
