The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
What an idiot. How could someone like Lucien, a Marshal-ranked figure of the Empire, not know where those links came from? That naive fool did not realize he was being set up! Corvin, unable to hear Malrik's inner thoughts, hesitated for a long time before finally replying to Lucien's message. 'I discovered them on my lightcore.' No matter what, he couldn't sell out a brother. If he threw Silas under the bus, Silas would never give him advice again. And between one full meal and having food every day, Corvin knew better. Lucien raised an eyebrow when he saw the reply, thinking the foolish brat was surprisingly loyal. 'That's enough. I know Silas gave those to you.' He knows?Corvin panicked instantly. If Silas found out about this, he'd be finished! Corvin texted, 'I begged Silas to give me those, Your Highness. Please, I'm begging you not to go after Silas! It's all my fault! I'll even give you a level-ten insect core to make up for it!' As long as Silas never found out, Corvin was even willing to part with the level-ten insect core he'd just acquired. Beside him, the little pink rabbit covered its face. What a fool! Lucien had only been testing him, yet he confessed to everything. Corvin waited and waited for a reply from Lucien, so anxious he was on the verge of tears. He asked, 'Your Highness, can you please say something? What do you think?' Lucien finally replied, 'My bad. I was working on something else just now.' Seeing the kid had been scared enough, Lucien decided to ease up on the teasing. He replied, 'I won't tell Silas or Emma about this, but listen carefully—some of the things Silas sent you are absolutely not to be used with Emma. They could hurt her. 'I want a copy of everything Silas sent you. I'll go through them and tell you which ones can be used and which ones can't. 'Remember! If Silas ever sends you this kind of stuff again, you must show it to me first. I'll help you out.' Corvin was relieved that neither of them was getting punished! Lucien was simply telling him that those tutorials shouldn't be used on Emma. Corvin responded with an emoji, thinking Lucien was such a good person. 'Don't worry, Your Highness. If I ever ask Silas for those kinds of links again, I'll forward them to you first. I won't even look at them until you tell me to!' Lucien was quite satisfied with that answer, and he replied, 'Good. I've got other matters to handle, so take good care of Emma. Let me know when Edric wakes up.' 'Got it,' replied Corvin. After turning off his lightcore, he finally let out a long sigh of relief. It was getting late. Corvin stood up from the couch, first going to the bedroom to check on Edric. Seeing that everything was fine, he began making dinner for Emma. From the doorway of the rest pod, Malrik watched as Corvin bustled around. He sighed helplessly. How did the fiercely competitive Ravaryns produce a beast this pure and gullible? It was truly unbelievable. Tonight's dinner was barbecue again. Just as Corvin finished prepping the meat, Emma and the others returned. Seeing him by the fire while setting up the grill, Emma waved happily at him. "I'm back, Corvin! I found a bunch of rare fruits today."The moment Emma's voice reached him, Corvin immediately dropped what he was doing and hurried toward her. He hadn't seen Emma all day, and he wanted a nice hug. "Emma!" But before he could reach her, a blur of pink shot past him. The little pink rabbit leaped straight into Emma's arms. Ms. Tibarn, you're finally back! I've missed you so much! "Cotton Candy, did you behave yourself while Corvin took care of you today?" Emma beamed, giving the soft pink bunny a kiss on its cheek. I most certainly did, Ms. Tibarn! Corvin stopped in front of them, glaring at Cotton Candy, who had beaten him to it. What a brat! Not only had it sent those messages and gotten him into trouble, but it was even stealing his spot in Emma's arms! Corvin felt rather slighted. "I want one too, Emma!" He pointed pitifully at his own cheek. Emma smiled and tiptoed, planting a firm kiss on his face. "How could I ever forget you, Corvin?" After all, her little feline was always the most obedient. Corvin touched the spot where she had kissed him, his mood instantly lifting. "Get some rest, Emma. Dinner will be ready shortly!" With that, he spun around and headed straight to the grill. He couldn't let Emma go hungry! Watching Corvin busy himself with the food, Emma decided to take a quick shower and change her clothes. The fruits they'd gathered earlier were a hassle, bursting with juice the moment they were touched. Her combat uniform was covered in sticky stains from it.
