The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Ms. Tibarn is worried about that snake. Based on what Malrik had seen regarding the snake's condition earlier, it would take him quite some time before he could break through. He flexed his claws and thought, That snake has no idea how lucky he is. After all, he just happened to have a Rank 10 beast lying around. He'd snatched it right under the Chitinid's noses, too! Since Emma was so worried, he figured he could find it in himself to give it to that snake. Emma wanted to take a shower, so she placed the little thing in her arms on the couch. "Wait for me here, okay?" Malrik obediently made himself comfortable on the couch, silently watching as she grabbed herself a change of clothes before heading to the bathroom. … In the meantime, Corvin was fiddling with something outside. Malrik eventually leaped off the couch and left the rest pod. Then, he followed the trail Edric left behind and soon found his target. Edric had gotten rid of several Rank 7 beasts without breaking a sweat. They were currently on A3, which was rather near Central Planet. Thus, high-tier beasts were scarce. If one wanted to sate their violent appetites with high-tier beasts, they had to go all the way to the outer battlefield at Duskora. Nevertheless, it didn't matter how many Rank 7 beasts were felled by Edric's hand. In his current state, what he really needed was to push past his limits. Only then would his breakthrough be successful. For one to achieve that, they had to prepare themselves for a brutal battle. They had to risk their lives. Malrik took out a special storage capsule and released the Rank 10 beast he had kept inside it. Then, he swiftly hid himself away in order to discreetly observe Edric. After all, he wasn't sure how strong Edric was, and the snake was going to be pitting himself against a Rank 10 beast. He couldn't just leave the snake alone like that. Emma would be distraught if anything happened to Edric. Soon, the two heard a mighty bellow that seemed to send tremors through the earth. The Rank 10 beast unleashed its oppressive aura as it charged right at Edric. Edric's head snapped to the beast in shock. His body reacted faster than he could think, leaping into the air as the beast came barreling his way. How the hell was there a Rank 10 beast on A3? His mind raced with astonishment as he watched the massive trees around him topple to the ground with a loud boom. Still, this wasn't a good time for him to dwell on his suspicions because the Rank 10 beast was coming right for him once more. Even worse, it had also sent poisonous-looking orbs his way. Edric hastily dodged to the side. He felt no terror as he laid his eyes on that ugly Rank 10 beast. Instead, his eyes flickered with excitement. Sure enough, Malrik soon saw Edric lunging at the Rank 10 beast. So, he languidly lounged on a thick trunk as he nodded at Edric with satisfaction. "Not bad. He's got some brains in that noggin of his." Emma had just gotten out of the shower when she heard the commotion. "What's going on?" She immediately stuffed herself into her clothes and dashed out. Marcus and Corvin were both standing by the door to the rest pod. When they saw her, Corvin explained, "Emma, Marcus says there's a Rank 10 beast in this forest." Emma's eyes strayed toward the forest. "That's the path Edric had taken!" He wouldn't be that unlucky to bump into the Rank 10 beast, would he? She felt her heart lurch out of her chest at that thought, so she turned to Marcus, saying, "Marcus, can you check in on him? I don't want Edric to be in danger."Marcus looked at Emma before saying hesitantly, "Lucien told me not to leave your side." Emma immediately retorted, "Corvin can keep me company. He has a Rank 11 mech." "That's right. I brought my mech along." Corvin nodded solemnly and added, "I can keep Emma safe. Marcus, you should check in on Edric." That was a Rank 10 beast, not a Rank 1 beast. "Fine." Marcus nodded begrudgingly before heading toward the source of commotion. He had disappeared so quickly that even Emma couldn't see where he had gone. All her eyes could capture was a streak of white, and then he was nowhere to be seen. She then turned to Corvin and said, "Corvin, let's go." "Okay!" Corvin wasted no time deploying his mech and waited for Emma to board before chasing after Marcus. … Meanwhile, Edric was pulling all the stops in order to eliminate the Rank 10 beast.Alas, this Rank 10 beast had been raised under the loving care of the Chitinid. As a result, it was made of far sterner stuff than regular Rank 10 beasts. Thus, he was already suffering a great deal of injuries. A coating of red was smeared across his dark purple, serpentine body. Some of the blood was his, some of it was the Rank 10 beast's. By the time Marcus got there, Edric and the Rank 10 beasts had already gone berserk. He observed the fight for a moment longer and quickly noted that Edric wasn't going to lose his life today. Instead, he noticed that Edric was showing signs of breaking through. Hence, Marcus stayed by the sidelines, leaning against a random tree trunk while keeping an eye on Edric. Naturally, Malrik, who was lounging on a tree branch, noticed Marcus, so he immediately slinked down the branch. Since Marcus was here, there was no need for him to stay here. Instead, he could spend his time accompanying Emma.He had just turned to leave when he saw Emma and Corvin approaching inside a Rank 11 mech. Emma really was amazing. She even knew how to pilot a mech! As the mech came to a stop, Emma quickly dismounted. Malrik wagged his pink tail as he frolicked over to her side. Emma had just left the mech when she saw a ball of fluff right at her feet. "Cotton Candy, what are you doing here?"
