The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands

Chapter 190 Naming the Little Bunny

I really want to kiss her… Malrik's thoughts wandered. When Corvin finished teaching Aria's three mates how to grill the meat, he trotted back toward Emma. He immediately noticed the pink ball of fluff nestled in her arms. "Where'd the bunny come from, Emma?" His eyes brightened at the sight of the pink little bunny. Slowly crouching down beside her, he gently reached out and stroked the little bunny. So soft… How could something so cute exist? I wish I could hold it too! "Emma, the little bunny is adorable. Let's bring it home as a pet!" … Another person had fallen under his charm. Malrik felt a little guilty. After all, he hadn't actually meant to charm them. It was just that his innate charm ability had become hard to control ever since he ascended to Rank 11. Though he had suppressed his ability as best as he could, there was still a faint trace emanating from him. In fact, he had accidentally charmed Emma as soon as they met each other. I haven't even figured out how to confess my identity to her yet, and now this… Ugh, the situation's getting trickier and trickier by the second! How am I supposed to explain everything to her? … Stroking the pink little bunny in her arms, Emma beamed at Corvin. "I've already talked to Edric and Marcus. We're taking it home as a pet!" Corvin nodded enthusiastically, petting the fluffy creature again. "Have you named it yet, Emma?" "Nope." She shook her head. Mulling quietly for a moment, he abruptly made a suggestion. "Since it's so cute, let's call it… Dominator! What do you think?" The unexpected suggestion threw her for a loop. Staring at him in confusion, she finally asked, "Why would you name it Dominator because it looks cute?" Shouldn't it have a cute name instead? Malrik sounded the name in his head, Dominator… Not bad, it actually sounds kind of impressive. Corvin might look stupid, but he's got better taste than expected. Corvin explained seriously, "It's because it's so cute that we should give it a strong and fierce name! That way, the other beasts won't bully it." She tilted her head thoughtfully. That… actually kind of makes sense… At that moment, Edric walked over and rolled his eyes at Corvin. "Dominator doesn't sound as good as Wild Fang." Emma was struck speechless by these suggestions. Corvin snapped, "How is Wild Fang better? It sounds like some stray cat wandering the streets!" Malrik agreed, Exactly! Exactly! What's wrong with the snake beast? He's got awful taste!Emma sighed. Truthfully, she thought both names were terrible. She suddenly turned toward Marcus, who was sleeping in his crystal coffin. "Marcus, which name sounds better to you?" His lazy voice floated out from the crystal coffin. "Neither." At least someone here has some taste. A surge of relief flooded her. "Then, what do you think we should name the bunny?" He replied, "Snack." It was a cute and tasty name. Though he didn't have a sense of taste, he felt that the adorable little creature would probably taste delicious. "Marcus, how can you give such an adorable little creature a name that… might make other beasts want to eat it?" Corvin stared at Marcus incredulously. Malrik nodded, Yeah! I've never offended him before, have I? Why does he keep wanting to eat me? Has he gone mad from starvation? "Ugh, I can't count on any of you…" Emma muttered helplessly, gazing down at the fluffy creature in her arms. The more she looked at it, the more she adored it. "Let's call you Cotton Candy." Its soft and fluffy appearance was reminiscent of cotton candy. Cotton Candy… Malrik echoed in his head. It still sounds like food, but it's cute. It's way better than Snack at least. Corvin nodded agreeably. "Cotton Candy sounds great. You've got a great naming sense, Emma!" "Emma always has the best choice," Edric agreed. Marcus said nothing, but lazily lifted his hand to show his agreement. Yeah… Malrik raised his head and gazed at Emma happily. The name she chose is the best—unlike those three idiots and their ridiculous suggestions. They seriously have zero taste. … After dinner, Aria called out to Emma. "Emma, I'm heading back out to hunt!""Alright, but be careful at night," Emma replied. She watched Aria and her mates leave the clearing before she climbed to her feet. Holding Cotton Candy in her arms, she headed to her rest pod. The rest pod in question was something Corvin had chosen specially for her, taken directly from his lab. It was cozy and compact, like a tiny one-bedroom suite. Edric and Corvin finished cleaning up and walked over. "Emma," Edric said gently, "let Corvin stay with you tonight. I'm heading into the forest for some light exercise." She nodded. "Okay. Be careful." Leaning down, he brushed a soft kiss against her forehead. Then, he turned and disappeared into the night. She stood by the entrance of the rest pod, watching his departing back with a worried expression on her face. "Are you worried about Edric, Emma?"Corvin approached, handing her a cup of warm water. "Don't worry too much, his advancement is only a matter of time. There's no need to rush—we'll wait." Despite his candid words, the truth was that they were dying of anxiety. But they couldn't let their emotions show, lest she worry about them. "Yeah." Retracting her gaze, she took the cup and smiled at him. "You're always so considerate, Corvin." Malrik, who was lying quietly in Emma's arms, twitched his fuzzy little head ever so slightly at those words.
