Cruel Kiss

Chapter 3: Sell Her to Me

Facing the sudden onslaught from Li Ye, Qin Ke slightly furrowed his brows, and the man in black standing beside him immediately grasped his intention, pulling Li Ye away. Li Ye became even more frightened, tears streaming down his face, completely lacking the demeanor of a grown man. "Mr. Qin! I beg you!" he cried. Qin Ke glanced at him, patted his sleeve, and spoke slowly. "Don't worry, I don't want to make a losing deal, after all, your life is of no use to me." As he said this, his eyes carried a smile, one that was directed at Lin Yin. Lin Yin was taken aback for a moment; she didn't know what he was about to say, but it was definitely nothing good. "Of course, you don't have to pay back the money, but your niece can. Sell her to me, to pay off the debt!" As soon as he finished speaking, Li Ye, who had been wailing and begging for mercy, suddenly stopped. He looked up at Qin Ke in a daze, not quite understanding why he would offer such a condition. But from Qin Ke's expression, he knew he wasn't lying. And Lin Yin was even more incredulous. What on earth was this man talking about? What scared her the most was that she clearly saw a glint of hope in her uncle's eyes, as if he saw a way out. She shook her head gently: "No, Uncle, I don't want to..." "Don't be so afraid, you haven't heard my conditions yet," Qin Ke said with a playful smile, looking at Lin Yin, "Work for me to pay off your uncle's debt to me. It's either taking his life or you coming with me, your choice."

Lin Yin was speechless from his words. How could she not hear that he was threatening her? If she didn't agree, her uncle would lose his life. She took a deep breath and looked straight at the handsome man in front of her. 'Working? What kind of job can I do for you to earn 5 million? Aren't you just trying to ruin my life?' This was tantamount to selling herself to the devil in front of her. Working for him? What a nice way to put it. Qin Ke found Lin Yin's expression interesting, so he spoke again. 'Ruin a lifetime? Not necessarily. Let's put it this way, 5 million is nothing to me. If you seriously work for me, and one day I recognize your efforts, what if I give you the 5 million?' Indeed, for people like them, 5 million was just a small sum. Lin Yin fell silent. Qin Ke lit a cigarette at some point, he exhaled a puff of smoke, and the smoke filled the air, obscuring his handsome face. Lin Yin sat on the ground, stunned. At this moment, Li Ye, who had been listening to their conversation, made a move. Li Ye begged Lin Yin. 'Yinzi, just agree to him, save me once, I beg you, uncle can't stand this torment.'

Facing Li Ye's pleas, Lin Yin slowly closed her eyes. Her heart felt icy cold. She didn't know what to say at that moment. For so many years, why had she tormented herself? It was all to repay her uncle for taking her into his home, to prevent her from ending up on the streets or being sent to an orphanage. She had scrimped and saved, borrowed money, all to pay for his medical treatments. In the end, he used the hard-earned money she had given him to gamble, and even resorted to usury. His claim that gambling was to improve their lives was nothing but nonsense; Li Ye simply couldn't kick his gambling habit. She had seen through her uncle for who he truly was. Yet, without even asking what kind of work Qin Ke wanted her to do, he eagerly urged her to agree. When Lin Yin opened her eyes again, the sadness in her gaze had been replaced by a clear determination. She looked up at Qin Ke once more. 'If it's a job that involves selling myself, I will definitely not agree,' she said, her words also serving as a probe. Qin Ke smiled and replied, 'Rest assured, based on what you've just said, we are now in a society governed by law, and I will not force you into such a trade.' He paused, then added, 'It's a legitimate job.' Even so, Lin Yin still couldn't shake off her doubts. After all, people like him were the most cunning; who knew if he wouldn't betray her after she actually agreed to his terms. Qin Ke could see her hesitation, and to create a sense of urgency for Lin Yin, he simply started counting down. 'I'll give you 3 seconds to think about it, 3...' 'You!'

Lin Yin was infuriated by this cunning man, and under extreme helplessness, she still uttered those four words. 'I agree to your terms.' Li Ye, who had been nervously waiting for redemption, suddenly relaxed his body upon hearing his niece's agreement. 'Saved, I'm saved.' He had only been thinking of himself from beginning to end, never considering what would happen to Lin Yin after being taken away by Qin Ke. After getting the result he wanted, Qin Ke extinguished the cigarette in his hand and nodded in satisfaction. Then he stood up from the sofa. It was only then that Lin Yin noticed how tall the man in front of her was. If, if they hadn't met under such circumstances, perhaps if she encountered such a man on the street, she might have felt a slight flutter. But now, Lin Yin only felt hatred towards him. Qin Ke looked down at Lin Yin, who had been sitting on the floor, and said softly, 'Let's go.' Lin Yin was stunned. 'Go now?' As she asked this question, Qin Ke had already reached the front door. He paused and replied, 'You are mine now, of course, we go now. I'll wait for you outside.' 'I understand.'

Lin Yin did not refuse either. She wiped away her tears, stood up from the floor, and ran to her room to pack her things. After such an incident, she no longer wanted to face her uncle. Agreeing to Qin Ke's conditions was nothing more than a final way to repay his kindness in raising her; otherwise, she would have picked up her bundle and left. After packing, Lin Yin returned to the living room. She glanced at her uncle, who was still sitting on the floor. Perhaps knowing that he had made a grave mistake, Li Ye remained silent and dared not look at Lin Yin. Lin Yin swept a glance at the passbook on the floor and curled her lips. She said, 'Keep the passbook for yourself. Whether you use it for surgery or gambling, it's none of my business anymore. This is the last time I help you.' Having said this, Lin Yin left the house without looking back, the home where she had lived for many years. To say she wasn't reluctant would be a lie. Holding back her tears once again, she stepped out the door. It was at this moment that Li Ye raised his head, but he did not look at his niece. Instead, he clutched the passbook tightly to his chest, as if holding onto his own life.
