If It's Not Me
At this time, a cold wind blew into the room. Ingrid noticed that the window in the living room behind Daniel was wide open. The white curtains fluttered in the wind. At that instant, she pieced everything together. Finally, she said, "You climbed up 28 floors and came in through the window to find me. Aren't you afraid your wife will get angry if she finds out?" After she said this, she suddenly got up. Bath water flowed over the bathtub. She stood naked in front of Daniel, making no attempt to hide her perfect, well-toned body. Ingrid stared closely into his eyes, hoping to find some reaction. Instead, however, she discovered that he looked as unfazed as usual. If he felt anything at all, his face betrayed no emotion. For the first time, she doubted her own charms. She couldn't help the displeasure that rumbled deep within her. She stepped out of the bathtub, carefully flaunting her snow-white thighs. She stood in front of him and put on a charming smile. "Wait here for a moment."Then, she strutted over to a nearby hanger and reached up to retrieve her robe. Suddenly, she was grabbed by the shoulder and pinned against the wall. She recovered her senses, shot him a glare as the corners of her mouth rose slightly, and she whispered, "What's wrong? Can't hold it in anymore?" Ingrid narrowed her beautiful eyes, exuding charm. She flicked her tongue, lightly licking her lips. She was so ravishing that any ordinary man who looked at her would've been unable to resist her. Alas, Daniel was unmoved as he continued, "If you try anything clever again, I'll have no choice but to stop being polite." His tone was biting and chilly. Ingrid was stunned for a moment before her expression turned stony when she heard his threat. There was a hidden button behind the rack where her bathrobe hung. Had she pressed it, her bodyguards would've come rushing in. That wasn't the only switch. There were plenty of buttons hidden throughout the house. She had them installed in case of emergencies like this. She hadn't expected Daniel to notice her little move. "Oh? I'd like to know what happens when you stop being nice. Would it be like what you did ten years ago? Go ahead. Nobody will find out." The corners of Ingrid's mouth curved into a sneer. "You know exactly what happened ten years ago," he answered. His eyes were cold as ice. Ingrid refused to back down as she shot back, "Of course. You were a beast that night. And just like before, I have no clothes on as well." Even if the two of them were alone, she didn't dare say out loud what had actually happened ten years ago out loud. This revealed the extent of her paranoia. Daniel remained calm when he heard this. He casually snatched the bathrobe and threw it over Ingrid's body, clothing her magnificence. She graciously adjusted her bathrobe in front of him, leaned against the wall, and smiled. "I have no idea what you're up to, sneaking into my room in the middle of the night. What do you want exactly?" "Are you part of the Eaglet Project?" he asked. "The Eaglet Project? Of course, I am. It's a public welfare project trying to make lives better. So naturally, the Four Waves Chamber of Commerce I head would be the first to participate. What's wrong with that?" The smile was still fixated on her face. There was a long silence, broken only by the dripping of a leaky faucet. Daniel scrutinized her, trying to decide whether she was telling the truth or lying. Finally, Ingrid finally broke the silence. She asked, "Mr. Hardon, did you come here because you need the Eaglet Program to help you aid the poor?" "I'm here to give you a way out," he replied. "A way out? Of what?" Ingrid reacted as if she had just heard a joke. She puffed up and tittered, and each action was calculated so that she was as charming as a flower. Yet, her laughter was full of mockery.
