Mr. Mysterious's Spontaneous Bride
"I'll take care of it right away," the special assistant said. He quickly gathered all the necessary information and sent it to all the media outlets. They were waiting for Tanya to release Lily's treatment plan so they could provide the evidence to counter her claims. However, a storm was brewing on Tanya's side. She only found out about the mess her irresponsible father had caused when she made time to visit Potts Medical Clinic. "Do you know how much trouble you've caused me?" Tanya shouted angrily at her father, Director Ticko Potts. Director Ticko looked puzzled. "You're at the top of the game in the First Hospital of City A, and your medical skills are unrivaled. What are you afraid of?" Director Ticko was clearly out of the loop about how Tanya had climbed to the top over the years, and just like back when he didn't know Tanya and Ivy were college classmates, he couldn't comprehend why a golden opportunity to completely overshadow Ivy had turned into a source of fury for his daughter. "Do you understand nothing?" Tanya retorted angrily. "Have you not seen Lily's insurance card? Have you read the diagnostic records and the prescriptions in there? You don't know?" Director Ticko was taken aback when he heard this. He had Tanya fetch Lily's diagnostic records, and after glancing at them, he froze. "Did you prescribe these medicines?" He trembled, finding it hard to believe. "I remember that when Lily came, Ivy mentioned he had allergies to certain medications, and you prescribed these drugs?" Despite his limited technical abilities and messy personal life, Director Ticko had carved out his own place through years of hard work. "Have you ever seen Ivy's previous diagnostic records?" he asked Tanya. But she just seemed impatient. About half of Director Ticko's heart grew cold. "I'm asking you, did you ever see Ivy's diagnostic records?!" "No, I haven't!" Tanya shouted in frustration, her father's scolding getting to her. "I am a chief physician at City A's First Hospital, and I am one of the top ten young doctors in the city. Why would I need to look at her records? She's just a poor doctor from a small clinic. She's not worthy!" "Tanya, now it's not a matter of worthiness. It's about the near-miss you've had. Every doctor should look at them, and it doesn't mean your abilities are any less than hers!" "Shut up!" Tanya, hearing her father say this, quieted down. She returned to her seat, sneering at him. "What makes you qualified to scold me here?" "You!" Director Ticko didn't expect this response from his daughter and was momentarily at a loss for words. He blinked in bewilderment before slowly responding, "I'm your father!" Tanya scoffed and pointed at Jenny, who was waiting outside the office. "You're my father, huh? My mother is still at home, and you couldn't wait to find a younger stepmother. My father? My father doesn't know what I'm doing or what I'm capable of, does he?" "Tanya, I..." Director Ticko sighed and asked his daughter to leave the office. He gazed at her in disappointment as she vented her anger inside. Perhaps it was time to involve Alter Group to handle the current mess. With that thought in mind, Director Ticko returned to his office, pulled out his phone, and began preparing to call Bob Alter. Suddenly, Jenny rushed into the room. "Professor, there's big news! Look, someone leaked information that Alter Group is secretly negotiating with the Smith family, the same family we attended the engagement ceremony with! It seems like they're discussing a marriage alliance!" "Marriage alliance?!" Director Ticko looked at the trending news and murmured, "What kind of alliance? Do they even have children in their family?" His gaze fell on a picture in the news, and he broke into a cold sweat. "Lilith and Kevin are getting married?!" "Is that true?! This is outrageous! They're forming an alliance. What will happen to my Tanya? My Tanya is the future daughter-in-law of Alter Group!" Director Ticko had a realization. He understood that Bob Alter, that old fox, was trying to burn the bridge after crossing it. In such a situation, his daughter--Tanya, absolutely couldn't afford to make any mistakes! With this in mind, Director Ticko came up with a plan. He quickly returned to Tanya's office and explained the news about the trending topics and marriage alliance rumors. "Tanya, regarding Lily's case, we'll say that you've been sick for these past few days. We'll play dead and not respond. Let's see what they can do with that." He looked at his daughter's pale face, his heart aching. "As for your engagement with Kevin, I think Bob Alter has already given a vague statement about the collaboration between the two families, not a marriage alliance. He's obviously waiting for the situation to settle down before officially acknowledging it. That gives us some room to maneuver." "Room to maneuver?" Tanya repeated, her voice trembling. She was already panicking at the thought of losing Kevin. "I don't know what to do, Dad. I..."Director Ticko was also in a dilemma. He had left an opening for them, but how to utilize it was a challenge. "Listen, you guys are clueless!" Jenny, who had come into the room, said as she rushed to Tanya's side. "You've been living together after your engagement, right? Well, take advantage of this time and try to conceive his child! When it becomes public that you're expecting, Kevin won't dare to think about getting engaged to someone else!" This was the smartest thing Jenny had ever said, and Director Ticko couldn't help but admire her for it. "Jenny is right. Tanya, follow her advice." However, Tanya hesitated. She remembered that since their engagement, Kevin hadn't even wanted to see her, let alone try for a child. How could she possibly conceive? But if she couldn't, she was likely to be ousted by the Alter family. With this in mind, she gritted her teeth and replied, "Fine." With a plan in place, Tanya took out her phone and sent a text to Kevin, "Kevin, are you coming home tonight?" "I'm not coming home," came Kevin's cold and indifferent reply. The chilling message made Tanya's heart race even more, considering the heat of the summer day. They had hardly communicated ever since they got engaged, and he remained distant, as if his soul was elsewhere, showing no interest in her. Tanya didn't give up, though. "We've decided to break the ice with County Clinic. I have a few strategies to discuss with Ivy. Before the discussion, I wanted to consult with you. Since you had a previous relationship with her, you might know her character." Tanya didn't mean to collaborate with Ivy; this was merely a desperate attempt to lure Kevin back. Less than a minute later, Kevin replied, "I'll be home at 9 tonight." He didn't even want to explain the news about the alleged alliance with the Smith family that was trending. Tanya held back her fury and replied, "I'll be waiting for you." After putting down her phone, Tanya felt increasingly angry. She planned and calculated in her mind, waiting for the right moment. Today was her ovulation period, and it was a crucial opportunity. She asked her father, "Dad, do you have a way to get those drugs from street vendors?"Director Ticko understood her request immediately. "Yes, I'll get them for you before I leave work." Father and daughter quickly discussed their plans, and then they went about their business. At that very moment, a special assistant rushed into the office and brought new information to Shawn. "Mr. Tate, today, Sanders went to have lunch with one of Alter Group janitors. They chatted, and guess what? This janitor is responsible for the President's office area. She revealed something. It seems Kevin is trying to win back Harry Jones, aiming to pay off his debts in one go and make Harry disappear." Shawn frowned, swearing quietly, "What a fool!" He loosened his tie, irritated, and said, "How did that old man--Bob Alter, raise such a moron?" The assistant asked, "Should we inform Mrs. Tate about this?" Hearing Ivy's name, Shawn's initial fiery temper mellowed. He adjusted his emotions and made a call to Ivy. He briefly explained the situation with Kevin to her. Ivy was calm and composed throughout. "I'll go handle this right away," she assured him. After ending the call with Shawn, she dialed Kevin's number, and he answered immediately. "Ivy," Kevin's voice was full of excitement and enthusiasm. "You finally took me off your blacklist. I..." "Kevin, are you a bootlicker?" Ivy asked coldly. ***
