Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 445 Still Want To Take The Company Back?

Three years ago, Bryden publicly declared that he didn’t want any of the Norman family’s money, then left to find his own future. Janet, being a girl and now having made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, had no interest in fighting her brother for the inheritance. She was also self-aware enough to know she wasn’t suited for business and would only squander their father’s assets. So Alex made the decision to let Vincent run the entire Norman Group, while splitting his real estate, stocks, funds, and cash equally between Bryden and Janet. But no matter how much cash they received, it was still a finite amount. The company, however, was the real "golden goose." This decision had weighed heavily on Mandy’s heart for a long time. But her children didn’t share her ambitions, and each had their own concerns. Add to that a mother-in-law who didn’t trust her, and Mandy had no one to confide in. In New York’s social circles, people often flock to power and wealth. As Mandy’s influence in the Norman family dwindled, fewer people sought her out. Grace had seized on this, often offering her flattery and praise, gradually warming Mandy to her over time. Grace had just finished an early shift that day and, with nothing else to do, invited Mandy to the nightclub. She hadn’t expected the news about Jackson to break. The accident was huge and made headlines immediately. It was hard to ignore. Mandy sighed, dabbing at the corners of her eyes. “Bryden never explicitly said it, but as his mother, how could I not see it? He was also infatuated with Emily, that b.itch, but since she was already with Vincent, and Vincent is the brother he respects most, he wouldn’t dare to compete. So he’s always felt uneasy. In the end, though, karma caught up with her. Emily died. Well, what goes around comes around.” Suddenly, a thought seemed to cross Mandy’s mind. "Grace, when Emily died with her baby... Was it your doing?" Grace let out a bitter laugh. "Do you really think I had the power to pull that off? Vincent practically drove Sophia and me into a corner. Sophia was forced to work as a hostess and almost died at the hands of some psycho. Now, she’s just a janitor. We’re just trying to survive. Do you think we could still mess with Emily?" It was true, and Mandy agreed. "But her death was so strange, don’t you think? Sure, it was a fire, but she died in the hospital, and with her baby. The more I think about it, the more it doesn’t add up." Grace replied, “Who cares how she died, as long as she’s gone?”"You’re right," Mandy conceded. "Only with her gone can we have a bit of peace. She turned our family upside down. Meggie always says I’m not fit to run the household, that I’m not capable enough. I just don’t get it. Emily never even finished college. At most, she’s a high school graduate, and she’s supposed to be better? What a joke." Grace chimed in with a few more insults about Emily, encouraging Mandy to vent even more of her frustrations. “Mandy, do you still want to take the company back?” Grace suddenly asked. Mandy shot her a sideways glance. "How would I do that? My husband already gave the company to Vincent, and Vincent’s no fool. He consolidated three companies into one. It’s impossible to divide it up now." She paused, glanced around to make sure no one was listening, then lowered her voice. "Why are you asking? Do you have a plan?" Grace smiled mysteriously. “It’s not exactly a plan, and it’s a bit dark.” "Go ahead, I’m listening. Bryden might not care about the company, but I do. He’s Norman’s biological son. Why should he get nothing? If he doesn’t want it, I’ll take it. So, what’s your idea?" Grace explained, “I heard Vincent’s health hasn’t been great, right?” “That’s right. He almost died saving Emily. It’s a miracle he survived, and he’s only been out of bed for about six months. I’m not sure how much he’s recovered, but with such severe injuries, he must still be weak... Grace, are you thinking of getting rid of Vincent?” Grace quickly responded, “No, no. It’s not as harsh as that. I just think it’s unfair. You’re the one who gave birth to Norman’s son and managed the family affairs. Now, you’re left with nothing. It’s just not right.” Mandy was more cautious this time. “You don’t need to worry about our family’s matters. You’re not one of us, and I don’t need your pity. Just tell me your idea, but let’s be clear: I won’t do anything illegal.” "Of course not. Everything’s perfectly legal," Grace assured her. "You know how inheritance laws work. If one spouse dies, the other is the primary heir. If Vincent’s health were to fail—God forbid—someone close to him could inherit his estate. And if that person were to marry Bryden, the assets could be transferred to him. You could offer this person a ‘compensation fee’ for her troubles. It’s not like I’m wishing ill on Vincent, but this seems like a foolproof plan, don’t you think?” Mandy seemed to seriously consider the idea. Grace continued, “I saw a story recently about a young entrepreneur who was terminally ill. He left all his assets to his caretaker, not a penny for his family. The family was furious.”Mandy’s head snapped up. "Really?" "Absolutely. You can still find the story online. This young entrepreneur was somewhat estranged from his family, but the caretaker had been by his side during his final months, so he gave her everything. His family was livid." Mandy’s first thought was of Dylan. Dylan had been by Vincent’s side for over a decade, always supporting him. He was Vincent’s right-hand man in both business and personal matters. During the two and a half years Vincent was bedridden, it was Dylan who ran the company. Within the Norman family, the only one who was close to Vincent was Meggie, but she was old and not much of a threat. Dylan, on the other hand, was someone to watch out for. After all, Dylan was an outsider!
