Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 402 Cutting-edge Technology

As Emily arrived at the airport, her phone rang. It was Adam. “Emily, have you arrived?” he asked. Emily nodded even though he couldn’t see her. “I just got here. Which flight are the Great Wall Group people on?” “I’m in the arrivals hall at Gate 35. Let’s meet there.” “You came too?” she replied, a bit surprised. Adam laughed, “I can’t let you handle this alone. As your boss, I have to lead by example.” Emily rolled her eyes playfully. “Well, I must admit, you’re quite dedicated. No complaints here.” “Ha! What can I say? I love money. The commission from the Great Wall Group exceeds our total revenue from last year. If I nail this deal, my dad will finally take me seriously.” Emily pouted slightly. “So that’s the real reason.” “But seriously, why is the Great Wall Group choosing us? Their design team is top-notch. They could go with any international firm. What do they see in us?” Adam shrugged over the phone. “Who knows? Maybe they genuinely think we’re good. Besides, isn’t it all about fate? Maybe Stardream and the Great Wall Group are meant to be.” “Well, let’s hope it’s good fortune,” Emily replied, chuckling. “Emily, I think you’re my lucky star. On your first day, you handled those difficult clients from Thailand; now you’re helping me land a major contract. I might just have to keep you around forever.” As she reached Gate 35, Emily spotted Adam in a sharp gray suit, looking like a true gentleman. She waved and approached him. “Hey, Adam!” “Wow, Miranda, you look stunning today!” he exclaimed. She laughed, “I had to dress up for important clients.” “Trust me, if you were just ten centimeters taller, you’d be walking the runway. By the way, isn’t there a model named Miranda? You’re not related to her, are you?” “I’m an ordinary people,” she replied. “Are they not here yet?”“Almost. I just saw on the information board that their flight landed. They should be disembarking soon.” Emily pulled out her phone, typed “Stardream” in bright colors, and held it up high. “This should help them find us.” Adam stared in awe. “Whoa, Miranda, what kind of black magic is that?” “It’s just a feature on my phone,” she explained. Just then, a young man in his twenties approached them. “Excuse me, are you with Stardream?” Emily nodded. “Yes, I am. Are you with the Great Wall Group?” “Yeah! I’m Steven, the assistant to the CEO,” he said, shaking her hand. “You’re the architect who just won the Pritzker Prize! That’s amazing!” Emily was taken aback. “I thought the assistant was Dylan? Is he not here?” Steven looked puzzled. “Oh, you know Dylan? He was assistant, but he got promoted to Human Resources Director. He’s responsible for all upper management now, so he personally wanted you on board.” “Ah, that makes sense,” Emily said, smiling. “It’s nice to be recognized, but now that Stardream and the Great Wall Group are working together, we’ll have more chances to collaborate.” “Definitely! By the way, where’s your CEO?” Emily turned to Adam. “This is Adam, our president.” Steven stepped forward to shake Adam’s hand. “Nice to meet you!” “Isn’t your CEO supposed to be here as well?” Adam asked. “Wasn’t Mr. Noman supposed to come?” Steven smiled softly, “Our CEO had to rush back to the hospital; a family member of his is ill. So it’s just me for now. I was sent to pick you up as soon as possible.” Emily felt a sudden weight in her chest. “I’m sorry to hear that. Who is sick? Is it serious?” The urgency of Steven’s response made her anxious. She couldn’t shake the feeling that it was Meggie, her beloved grandmother.
