Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal
Bobby’s honesty earned him some leniency from Logan Morgan. This reason was enough to convince him. “We need to make good use of this Penelope…” Logan Morgan paused, “She could be very useful.” Bobby raised an eyebrow, excitement evident in his voice: “I’ve thought it through. We can handle it this way. Not only will Emily be out of the picture, but Norman’s family won’t blame us either…” The plan started to take shape in their discussion, becoming clearer by the minute. …… Emily was in a bad mood today, feeling some discomfort in her stomach and generally just worn out. Satan held her in his arms and gently checked her forehead with his lips. “...You’re okay, not too hot.” Emily shifted in his arms, “I’m fine, just feeling a bit tired today.” Satan held her tighter, “Why do you need to handle this yourself? Leave it to me. Everything Logan Morgan has can be gone in an instant.” Emily sighed, “But this is Mom’s legacy. I want to help her reclaim it myself. Plus... he was someone Mom loved, so…” “Emily, sometimes love makes people blind.” Emily looked up at him, nodding, “Yeah, I don’t get it either. How could Mom, such a smart and beautiful woman, fall for someone like him? It just doesn’t make sense.” Satan softly reassured her, “What’s in the past doesn’t matter anymore. Tomorrow, when Logan Morgan reveals the true creator of that design to the public and restores all the honor to your mother, I’ll take you to stay with my grandmother. You can be with her and take your mind off things. Our baby is already seven months along; we can’t afford any more surprises. Everything else needs to take a backseat.” Emily, like a contented kitten in his arms, said, “Okay, I’ll do as you say.” “Are you feeling better now?” “Much better,” Emily said, “I’m a bit sleepy. I want to take a nap.” “Alright, we’re almost home. You rest, and I’ll go make something in the kitchen. When you wake up, it’ll be ready.” The comforting environment made Emily fall asleep again before she could even hear the end. The fridge at home had some ingredients. Satan settled her in the bedroom and then went to the kitchen, preparing a few dishes and cooking some plain porridge. Though it wasn’t as good as Emily’s cooking, it was at least home-style and decent. Just as he was about to wake Emily, his phone rang. It was a private number from Penelope. Satan answered and hung up immediately. But Penelope quickly sent a text: [Simon, I’m in the Hilton Hotel lobby. Come down to meet me, or I’ll go up to room 2307 to find you.] Satan’s brows furrowed. [What do you want?] [Just to say goodbye. I’ve decided to move to Norway.] [No need for a goodbye, no need to see you.] [Simon, if you don’t come down within five minutes, I’m going up. Emily should be there too, right? She’s about to give birth, isn’t she?] After hesitating for two minutes, Satan put on his mask, grabbed his coat, and went downstairs. He didn’t care about himself, but Penelope knocking on the door might wake Emily. She was already exhausted today, and he didn’t want her to deal with this. He’d handle it himself. Penelope was sitting in the most conspicuous spot in the lobby, making her easy to spot. As soon as Satan stepped out of the elevator, he saw her. She had changed her style today, wearing a white tracksuit. Her hair was dyed back to brown, and she wore plain canvas shoes instead of high heels. She wasn’t wearing any jewelry and had no makeup. When she saw Satan, she stood up with a slight smile. “You finally came.” “Goodbye,” he said. “Is the farewell over? Can I go now?” “Oh, you’re really heartless,” Penelope sighed in disappointment. “I went through all this trouble to dress up. Do I look like Emily?” Satan’s face grew cold. “My patience is limited.” “Alright, I get it. I’m leaving now,” Penelope said, pulling a small item out of her bag. “Here, this is for you.” Satan didn’t take it. “What’s this?” “It’s a bow hairpin,” Penelope said. “Since you liked your old one so much, I bought an identical one and swapped it with yours. This is the original one.” Satan’s eyes grew icy. “When did you switch it?” “Quite a while ago,” Penelope said. “I swapped it when you weren’t paying attention. Now that I’m leaving, there’s no point in holding onto it. I came here just to return it to you. Here—”
