Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal
Mr. Satan had just walked into the room. He looked at Alex and said, "Dad." "Yeah," Alex responded. "About Emily..." "I'll take care of it," Mr. Satan replied firmly. "She's my woman, and whatever she wants to do, I'll make sure it happens." Alex nodded approvingly and added, "If there's anything I can help with, just let me know. You and Emily are both very stubborn, always trying to handle things on your own, but you're still young. Handling things too extremely can cause problems down the line." Mr. Satan's gaze remained fixed on Emily, not sure if she even heard what Alex was saying. Whatever, Alex thought. It's only natural for a son to care about his wife. He'd talk to them about these things later. "I'll leave you two alone then," Alex said, getting ready to go. "Vincent, make sure you spend some time with Emily over the next few days. I'll keep an eye on the company for you." Mr. Satan nodded. "Thanks, Dad." "Alright then, I've got a handle on things. You two talk, I'll get going." But Mr. Satan said, "I'll walk you out." Alex was surprised. "You're being awfully polite today. What's going on? Do you need something from me?" "No," Mr. Satan denied it, "I just realized that in all these years, I haven't really done anything for you. I feel like I've been a pretty lousy son." Alex chuckled, closing the car door and standing still. "I know what's going on. You're thanking me on Emily's behalf, right?" Mr. Satan didn't reply, but his silence was answer enough. "To be honest, when Emily called me this morning and asked me to come to your office, I was a bit puzzled. But I already consider her family. She's a good kid. If she asked me to come, she must've thought it through. Whatever it was, I was the right person to handle it. Otherwise, she wouldn't have called me." Mr. Satan sighed, "Her mother's death is a deep wound for her." "I understand. I watched you grow up, so I know what it's like to carry that kind of pain. Vincent, I've been your father for over twenty years, and since you were five, you've rarely ever talked to me about what’s really on your mind. I know you don't like to share your pain, and that's okay—I was young once too." Mr. Satan asked, "Dad, I heard from Grandma that your first wife also died in an accident, is that true?" "Yes," Alex closed his eyes briefly, nodding. "She was the best woman I've ever known." "But you remarried." "Because I'm the only heir. I had to marry and have children—that's my responsibility," Alex smiled. "Maybe you young people don't get why we're so obsessed with having kids. But to me, a boy or a girl doesn't matter—I actually favor Janet more." Mr. Satan nodded. "Dad, lately you might want to keep an eye on Mandy." Alex caught the implication. "Do you know something I don’t?" "She's been hanging out with Grace and Sophia a lot, and I'm worried Grace might use her to do something bad." Alex thought for a moment and understood. "Got it, I'll keep an eye on her." "Drive safe, Dad." "One more thing," Alex said, remembering something as he turned to Satan, "Vincent, don't push people too hard. Since Logan Morgan has already agreed to apologize, try to get Emily to ease up. If you push him too far, he might do something reckless. Emily is pregnant and very emotional right now; she can't handle any more stress. What's most important is that we all live peacefully, and the baby is born safely. As for Logan Morgan, we'll have plenty of chances to deal with him later." Mr. Satan nodded. "I'll take care of Emily." As he watched Alex drive away, Mr. Satan slowly walked back to the building. When he returned to the meeting room, only Daniel and Ken were there. "Where's Emily?" he asked. Ken replied, "Oh, Dylan took her to the rooftop." "Alright," Mr. Satan said, turning to leave. Ken and Daniel quickly followed. "Boss, are we going to start a fight with that scumbag Logan Morgan now?" Ken asked excitedly. Mr. Satan shot him a glance. "Why are you so fired up?""I just can't stand it!" Ken fumed. "That scumbag should be rotting in jail." "Not so fast." "Why not? Emily's been through so much, what are we waiting for? We should just call the cops and have them arrest him. He'll spill the truth eventually, right Daniel?" Daniel looked conflicted. After all, Bobby was his younger brother. Just before Bobby left, he had told him a lot, including Grace's current whereabouts. She knew everything about Logan Morgan, and if they could get her testimony, it would be a huge help. "Boss..." Daniel hesitated. "Go on," Mr. Satan prompted. "We’re after Logan Morgan. Can you let my brother off the hook? He's about to get his Ph.D., and it would be a shame if he lost it over this." Mr. Satan pressed the elevator button. When the doors opened, he stepped in, followed by Ken and Daniel. Mr. Satan didn’t give an immediate answer, leaving Daniel uncertain. Anxious, Daniel quickly explained what Bobby had told him. "My brother just told me that Grace and Sophia are hiding out at a nightclub in the east side of town. Sophia's got a well-connected boyfriend. Boss, my brother is on our side now—please give him another chance."
