Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 344 Bobby's Idea

Satan looked at Emily with a hint of surprise, but more than that, admiration. If Emily hadn’t dropped out of school and had kept studying, she might have become a great designer like her mother. Even if she studied a different field, with her talent and hard work, she would’ve excelled in anything she chose. He was confident in that. “Emily, I’m giving you the night. Do you think you can fix this flaw?” Satan asked. Emily hesitated for a moment. “Me? I just had an idea, that’s all. I don’t really know what I’m doing, I just said it off the top of my head…” “Don’t be afraid. Just give it a try,” Satan encouraged her. “This is your mom’s design. I don’t want anyone else to change it. You’re the most suitable person to make adjustments.” Emily thought for a bit, then pressed her lips together and nodded. “You’re right. I’ll give it a shot.” “Don’t worry, this is just a copy, not the original. You can make changes based on your ideas, and we’ll discuss it tomorrow in the meeting,” Satan said. “Logan will be there.” Emily was surprised. “You invited him?” “Yes,” Satan replied. “Before we start this project, I want you to clear your mom’s name yourself.” Emily’s heart began to race. She was going to take back the honor from Logan Morgan and return it to her mom. Just thinking about it was exhilarating. Once she made up her mind, Emily was full of energy. She sat in front of the computer and started studying the design carefully. Luckily, Satan was right there beside her, so if she didn’t understand something, she could ask him at any time. Satan was a patient and gentle teacher, and Emily was a quick and clever student. They worked together seamlessly. It was already midnight, but Emily seemed more awake, with no sign of sleepiness. Satan noticed she was deeply engrossed, so he didn’t disturb her. He took his laptop and sat next to her, working on his own tasks. They only talked occasionally, each focusing on their own work, yet there was no awkward silence.“Emily, don’t stay up too late,” Satan said, glancing at the time—it was already past 2 AM. But Emily wasn’t tired at all. “You go ahead and sleep. I’ll just keep going a little longer.” Satan chuckled softly and picked her up from behind. “Take a bath first. You don’t want to show up to the meeting like this tomorrow, do you?” Emily obediently nestled in his arms as he carried her into the warm, fragrant bathroom. Tonight, he didn’t try anything over the line. He quietly waited until she was done, then wrapped her in a towel and carried her back. In the bedroom, Emily was cocooned in a blanket like a little caterpillar. She had the laptop on her lap, and Satan held her from behind, his chest a warm cushion. “...Phew,” Emily stretched, feeling a bit tired. “What time is it?” Satan reached for the remote and pressed a button, causing the curtains to slowly open. The early morning light streamed in, casting a glow on the wide bed that was almost blinding. Emily shielded her eyes with her hand. “It’s already morning!” Satan chuckled. “Yep. A pregnant woman stayed up all night, and now I’ll have to punish you tonight when we get back.” He said the word “punish” in a teasing, suggestive tone. They were both adults. They hadn’t been intimate last night, but knowing his recent frequency, tonight was likely going to be another long night... They got dressed and ordered breakfast from the hotel. One of the perks of staying at the Hilton was that you could always order room service when you didn’t have time to cook. After eating, Satan held out his hand to her. “Ready to go, my designer?” Emily placed her hand in his, which he quickly wrapped around hers. “Let’s go, my boss.” They exchanged a knowing smile. ... At Taylor Group. Logan angrily hung up on the ninety-third call of the morning. Bobby stepped forward with a cup of coffee. “Here, have some coffee.”Logan waved it off impatiently. “I don’t have time to drink coffee right now!” Bobby didn’t dare argue, only asking softly, “Grace called again?” “Of course, it was her!” Logan fumed. The coffee he had just picked up was slammed back down. “Every time I turn on my phone, it rings non-stop, and I can’t get anything else done. She’s trying to ruin my work and life!” Bobby sighed, trying to reason with him. “Grace has lived with you for over twenty years, she knows everything about you, especially about that design… You shouldn’t push her too hard. She’s only after money; give it to her and don’t let her mess up your future!” Logan sneered inwardly at Bobby’s words. Bobby was too much like him. He claimed to be concerned, but really, Bobby was just worried that if Logan’s reputation was destroyed, he’d be dragged down with him. Bobby had worked hard to earn his PhD under Logan; he didn’t want to end up with nothing. Logan responded coldly, “She wouldn’t dare. She has no backing, and my reputation is solid now. Even if she did spill, no one would believe her.” “Don’t forget about Emily… She’s been trying to get revenge for her mother…” “Emily is my biological daughter!” Logan snapped, though he quickly lost confidence. “But you’re right. The real problem isn’t Grace; it’s Emily. Now that she has the Norman family backing her, I’m not sure how to handle her.” Bobby muttered quietly, “It would be easier if the Norman family weren’t in the picture…” “Yeah, if she couldn’t marry into the Norman family, she’d be nothing but a lonely orphan with a sick adoptive father. Controlling her would be easy. I wouldn’t even have to acknowledge her as my daughter. You have no idea, Emily looks so much like her mother. Every time I see her face, it’s like Lisa is back to haunt me…” Bobby smirked slightly, then suggested in a low voice, “I have an idea, but I’m not sure if it’ll work.” Logan frowned. “Just spit it out. If it’s no good, forget it. I don’t expect much from you anyway…” Bobby didn’t seem to mind. With his head lowered, his voice was sharp and soft as he spoke. “Since the Norman family isn’t going to disappear, you could target Emily instead. If Emily weren’t around, all your past could be buried for good. Grace wouldn’t be hard to deal with. Who else could threaten your position? But of course, Emily is your biological daughter, so it’s up to you whether you can bring yourself to do it…”
