Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 330 Daddy Arrives

Emily asked, "What are your names?" By now, the girl was too scared to speak up. St. John’s was one of the best schools in the city, and her father had spent a lot of money to get her admitted. If she got into trouble or was expelled, her father would find out about her relationship with the boy and the mess she had caused. “We won’t call anyone,” the girl mumbled, her attitude shifting dramatically. “Alright, I apologize. Ladies, I’m sorry. Is that enough? Can we go now?” “Stop right there.” Emily’s voice was stern. The girl, annoyed, retorted, “I’ve already apologized. What more do you want? We didn’t call anyone, there was no fight. Even if Mary comes, she can’t do anything to us.” “Maybe Mary can’t, but the police can.” Emily turned to the manager. “This girl kicked this mother, who recently gave birth and is now bleeding. The extent of her injuries needs to be assessed at the hospital. Please call the police. Let them handle this.” The manager nodded. He didn’t want trouble in his cinema, so it was best to let the police investigate. By now, the two students had no way to leave. Security had already cordoned off the area, waiting for the police to arrive. Soon, the police were on the scene. Emily had also called for an ambulance, and paramedics were taking the young mother to the hospital for further examination. The two students were taken to the police station for investigation, along with the cinema’s surveillance footage. Emily, holding the baby and with the little girl by her side, waited outside the examination room. A doctor emerged, saying, “Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious. She’s just having her period, and the heavy activity likely caused more bleeding. She just needs some rest.” Emily sighed in relief. “Thank you, doctor.” “No problem,” the doctor glanced at her belly. “Are you pregnant as well?” “Yes.” “Please take good care of yourself too,” the doctor advised.Emily felt a warmth in her heart. “I will.” Just then, the elevator dinged, and the doors opened. A policeman rushed out, anxiously grabbing the doctor. “Excuse me, the young mother brought in earlier—how is she?” “She has some soft tissue bruising and needs rest. I heard it was a minor who caused the injury? Thankfully, she’s okay.” The policeman visibly relaxed. “Thank you…” The doctor smiled. “You’re a good cop, worrying so much about her.” The policeman smiled back. “She’s my wife.” Emily was taken aback. The little girl in her hand ran to the policeman. “Daddy—bad people hurt Mommy! Go chase them away!” The policeman scooped her up, kissing her chubby cheek. “Don’t cry, Daddy’s here to protect you.” The girl, genuinely scared, cried on her father’s shoulder. Seeing the girl cry, the baby in Emily’s arms started crying too. Emily quickly patted and soothed the baby, her movements practiced and gentle. Noticing them, the policeman walked over, holding his daughter. “Thank you. I’ve heard about what happened today. Really, thank you.” The little girl said, “Daddy, she’s a good person! She made me a princess carriage and helped Mommy fight the bad guys!” Emily smiled and handed the baby to the policeman. “Here’s your son. Be careful…” The policeman clumsily took the baby, his movements stiff, afraid to move. “It’s my first time seeing him awake.” “Every time Daddy comes home, my brother is already asleep!” the girl pouted. “You haven’t seen him much.” The policeman, a bit embarrassed, explained, “Daddy has missions. Many people need Daddy’s help.” “But Mommy, my brother, and I need your help too.”The policeman was at a loss for words. He wasn’t good at holding the baby. In Emily’s arms, the baby had stopped crying, but in his father’s arms, he started wailing again, no matter how much he tried to comfort him. “…Let me hold him.” Emily suggested. “I’ll help you for a while. You should go check on your wife.” The policeman said, “Thank you. But… I won’t go in.” Emily frowned. “You’re not going to see her? She gave birth to your two children…” “I really want to, but… I can’t stay here long. People might find out.” The policeman looked around cautiously, then lowered his voice. “I want to stay with her, but I’m handling a big case. The fugitives are a gang, and they have guns. I’m worried they’ll come after my family…” Emily’s heart ached. “I’m sorry to my wife, but I have no choice because of my job. I try to stay away to reduce the risk to them. My wife has suffered a lot, I…” His eyes reddened, voice choking. Quickly wiping his eyes with the back of his hand, he said, “I can’t stay long. Knowing she’s okay is enough for me. You’re our family’s savior. I can’t drag you into this. I have to go now.” Emily nodded. “Don’t worry, I’ll help take care of your children.” “Thank you!” The little girl tugged at his hand, shaking it. “Daddy, are you leaving again? Won’t you see Mommy?” The policeman patted her head. “Be good, listen to Mommy.” “Okay.”
