Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 274 Lisa's Death

Grace waved her phone, its golden exterior glinting in the sunlight, almost blinding those who looked directly at it. What could be on her phone? Logan’s expression remained unchanged, though he sighed softly. "Grace, this is between us. Why bring it to the company? Our relationship has soured, but after over twenty years together, I believe I have a clear conscience towards you." Bobby, one of Logan’s protégés, immediately stepped in front of him, acting as a bodyguard. "Grace, do you really have to ruin Mr. Morgan? He’s bought you everything you wanted for years. Designer bags, high-end cosmetics, what more do you want?" As Bobby stepped forward, others also started defending Logan, pointing fingers at Grace. Grace laughed coldly. "Mr. Morgan, I don’t want to make this ugly. But what's on this phone will destroy the image you’ve carefully built over twenty years. You should think it over. I’ll be waiting in the café. If you don’t come, this will be online by tomorrow. Think about it." With so many people around, Logan couldn’t immediately agree, but he was starting to feel anxious inside. Grace knew too many of his secrets, and this wasn’t the place to talk. But he still had to maintain his composure. "Grace, you don’t need to resort to such threats. We’re still married. Whatever you want, I’ll try to accommodate." "Really?" Grace raised an eyebrow. "Of course," Logan handed his briefcase to Bobby. "Bobby, there are some blueprints that need refining. Wait for me in my office. Grace isn’t in a good mood today; I’ll talk to her." Bobby quickly responded, "Sure, but you can’t be too soft-hearted. I’ve been with you for years, and you always get conned because of your softness. I can’t stand it anymore..." "Enough, Grace is a good woman; she didn’t deceive me." Logan glanced around, pleased to see people looking at Grace with disdain and suspicion. Grace’s background was complicated. She met Mr. Morgan abroad and married him, but no one knew why she went abroad or what she did there. Now, hearing Bobby, everyone started suspecting her motives. Grace was labeled a gold digger!Logan led Grace away from the crowd into a secluded alley. It was a dead end, quiet and deserted. Sophia followed, standing beside Grace, silently glaring at Logan. Logan glared back at Sophia, knowing Grace was the real decision-maker. Sophia wasn’t as sharp as her mother. So his focus remained on Grace. "What’s on your phone?" Logan demanded. Grace burst into laughter. "Did you really believe it? Logan, I was just waving my phone around. What are you afraid of?" Logan realized he’d been played and was furious. "Are you mocking me?" Grace scoffed. "Mock you? I can’t even afford a taxi fare since you kicked me out. If anyone’s been deceived, it’s me." Logan took a deep breath. "I don’t have time for this. Let me be clear, you won’t get a cent of my assets. I have bank records of everything I bought for you. Even in court, you won’t get anything." "You’ve been preparing for this all along?" Grace trembled with anger. "I underestimated you. Twenty-seven years ago, you had the heart to kill your wife and unborn child. I should have known your heart is made of stone!" "It doesn’t matter now," Logan interrupted. "You want to use Lisa’s death against me? Lisa died twenty-seven years ago. Emma isn’t in the U.S. Only the three of us know. Do you think a judge will believe you?" Grace raised an eyebrow. "Who said Emma isn’t in the U.S.?" Logan was stunned. "She’s back?" Then he shook his head. "Impossible. Emma committed too many medical malpractices. If she returns, she faces years in prison and massive fines. How would she pay?" Grace clicked her tongue. "I thought the same, but it seems even God is helping me. Do you know why Emily is staying at your house?" "To make me acknowledge her as my daughter. Having me as her father boosts her status and secures her marriage to Mr. Norman." Grace laughed at his ignorance. "Mr. Norman can marry whoever he wants. What does Mr. Morgan have to do with it? Emily moved in to investigate her mother’s death!"Logan’s face turned pale. "What..." He knew exactly how Lisa died. If Emily found out the truth, she’d never acknowledge him as her father. The Norman family would cut ties, and his reputation in the company and industry would be ruined. But even if she found out, there was no evidence. As long as he denied it, she couldn’t do anything. Logan gritted his teeth. "Grace, you had a part in Lisa’s death too." "But I wasn’t the one who told Emma to stop the resuscitation over the phone." Logan’s lips curled into a sinister smile. "That was my woman and child. How could I let them die? It was you and Emma. You just wanted to seduce me and become my wife... Your daughter is just like you."
