Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 241 Why Won't You Marry Me?

The door to the makeup room opened. Janet jumped up in surprise and excitement. “Jackson!” “Yeah,” Jackson frowned, but his gaze was fixed on Emily. “Come with me, I need to talk to you.” Jackson was the same as always. No, now he was even more flamboyant. He had dyed his hair blonde, wore a brown and black leather jacket, studded boots, and had skull earrings, which were a bit scary. Especially with his frowning, impatient look, he still made people feel uneasy. Janet was stunned for a moment, looking back and forth between Jackson and Emily. “You guys... know each other?” Emily explained, “I used to work for him. I was responsible for the makeup of the models at his car show.” “Oh, I see.” Jackson was already getting impatient. He walked past Janet and grabbed Emily's wrist, pulling her out. Emily was startled, stumbling and almost falling, a cold sweat breaking out. “Slow down, I'm pregnant...” Jackson suddenly stopped, his eyes flashing with cold light. “What's going on between you and Vincent? Is he the man you said you'd spend your life with?” They were standing in the studio, with staff coming and going. This wasn’t a good place to talk. Emily concisely said, “Yes, but I only found out recently that he’s Vincent.” “Heh, so you’re saying when you started dating him, you didn’t even know who he was? And you willingly got pregnant by him?” Emily nodded. Jackson laughed angrily. “Emily, what should I say to you? You were young and naive before, got taken advantage of by Nathan, and that’s one thing. But now you’re not naive anymore, right? Where’s the fire you had when you argued with me? How could you get pregnant so easily? Aren’t you afraid Vincent will be just like Nathan, and you’ll get hurt again?”His voice was loud. His flashy appearance attracted a lot of stares. Jackson directly confronted them. “What are you looking at?!” No one dared to look anymore, and everyone continued their work. Emily sighed, her tone calm. “Vincent is different from Nathan, I know that.” “You don’t know shit! Vincent isn’t even Alex’s biological son, did you know that? Hardly anyone has seen Vincent’s face, did you know that? The Norman family is very complicated, and Vincent is even more complicated. He’s a thousand times more terrifying than Nathan, did you know that?!” Jackson got more and more agitated, scaring everyone around them into silence. “Jackson, calm down...” “I can’t calm down! I went to Germany to help you investigate Emma. As soon as I got back, I heard you were engaged to Vincent. How do you expect me to calm down?! Emily, did you never even consider me? Was I just your boss, one of many?” Emily frowned. “Jackson, lower your voice. Janet is still in the room. She likes you...” “I’m talking about you right now, why are you bringing up someone else?!” Jackson interrupted impatiently. “I’m telling you, I have a bad temper. No one can force me to marry if I don’t want to. I don’t care about this d.amn engagement. If push comes to shove, I’ll have my brother marry Janet to fulfill the engagement. No one can make me marry her.” Bang! A loud noise came from the makeup room behind them. Janet must have heard everything. Emily was a bit worried and wanted to go check, but Jackson grabbed her. “Emily, you’re not leaving until you give me a clear answer!” Emily was also getting angry. “Jackson, I’m working right now. Janet is an innocent girl. Can’t you consider her feelings?” “But have you considered mine? You got engaged to someone else while I was away, without leaving me any chance. Am I not even allowed to get angry?” “Jackson, I have work to do. I’m leaving. We can talk later when you’ve calmed down.” Emily turned to leave.Jackson grabbed her waist and dragged her to the side. He kicked open the door to a room and pulled her inside. Emily felt a rush of dizziness. She steadied herself against the wall, her voice wary. “Jackson, what exactly do you want to say?” Jackson sneered, undoing his collar button. “You’re not working until you give me a satisfactory answer.” He grabbed a wooden chair, sat down, and looked at her provocatively, waiting for her response. This seemed to be a storage room in the studio, filled with various items. Dust floated in the air, making it hard to breathe. Emily covered her mouth, coughing lightly and frowning tightly. “I’m giving you time to talk.” Emily bit her lip. “What do you want me to say?” “Why do you like Vincent? What’s so great about him? What does he have that I don’t?” Emily hesitated. “Speak!” She took a deep breath and said, “He was there for me when I was at my lowest, helping me out of the darkness.” Jackson nodded. “So, it’s about timing?” “He also respects me. He doesn’t force me to give him an answer,” Emily continued. “He respects my wishes.” “Ha!” Jackson laughed out loud. “You’re saying I don’t respect you enough? Emily, I respected you too much, and that’s why you ended up with someone else right in front of me. If I had been more decisive, I should have made you pregnant with my child. Let’s see who you’d marry then.” Emily was shocked. Jackson continued, “And another thing, why is there no record of your marriage with Nathan?” Emily shook her head. “I’m not sure. I think he must have used some method.” “That’s actually good, and it saves a lot of trouble. Nathan is in debt now. It’s best that you have nothing to do with their family.” Jackson chuckled coldly. “Nathan must have pissed off someone. He’ll never recover in this lifetime. Soon enough, you’ll see him in jail.” Emily asked, “Is his situation that bad?” “Not just bad. Someone set a trap for Nathan. He now owes billions in bank loans and shareholders’ original equity. No matter who sues him, he’s going to jail!”
