Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 207 You Go Out

Meggie's tone was a bit harsh, and everyone was startled. Sophia had already stepped into Meggie's room but retreated a step in fright. Emily was walking at the back. Seeing Sophia step back, she also stopped. Bella smiled to ease the awkwardness: "Meggie usually uses sandalwood incense. She doesn't like other scents, fearing they would pollute her devotion to Jesus. She doesn't allow flowers in her yard, only bamboo, to prevent other fragrances from mixing in." Sophia hurriedly apologized, "I'm sorry. I thought I was meeting someone important today, so I wore perfume. It was out of respect for Meggie." Bella smiled, "You are a cultured person, so you consider many things." "Yes," Sophia said proudly, "I have a master's degree." She glanced at Emily, who hadn't attended college. Bella nodded, "You are very impressive." Sophia's words were intended to boast, especially since Emily hadn't gone to college. She thought it was her pride. The Norman family would never accept a woman without a college degree. How dare Emily dream of having any connection with the Norman family! She didn't even have the right to think about it! Sophia glanced at Emily. Emily pressed her lips together with no special expression, seemingly uninterested in Sophia and Bella's conversation. She was staring blankly into the distance. Sophia sneered inwardly. Emily should know she was just a supporting role today. The protagonist was Sophia. Today, she wanted Emily to see the gap between them! After about ten minutes, Meggie's muffled cough came from inside the room. Bella hurriedly entered, handing Meggie a cup of water: "Drink some water first." Meggie was lying sideways on the sofa, dressed in expensive yet understated clothes. Her hair was gray but still thick, with a hint of weariness in her eyebrows. She took a sip of the water Bella handed her and returned the cup: "What is this? It tastes strange. I won't drink it. Take it away."Bella advised earnestly, "It's medicine for your cough. Your cough hasn't gotten better after so many years. You should listen to the doctor." Meggie was resolute: "Doctor? Those people who just came?" Bella said, "Those are the family doctors Vincent arranged for you. They are very famous internationally. Vincent brought them here by private jet." Meggie rolled her eyes disdainfully, "I don't think they're famous doctors. They murmured around me for over half an hour and concluded it's chronic pharyngitis, then asked me to drink this strange medicine. I won't drink it. Tell Vincent to send them away!" "Meggie..." "Don't persuade me. You've been with me for so many years, you should know me. I won't change my decision!" Meggie's attitude was firm. Bella knew she wouldn't change her mind, so she stopped trying to persuade her and sighed slightly. "Meggie, Logan Morgan's daughter has arrived. Do you want to see her now?" Meggie's eyes finally opened slightly, but her expression remained unchanged, "She has arrived?" Bella said, "She's waiting outside." "The one with the heavy perfume just now?" Bella said, "The perfume scent has already dissipated." Meggie smiled. She extended an arm, and Bella quickly helped her. "Bella, help me sit up." "Okay." Bella placed a cushion on the sofa, helping Meggie sit up and lean against the cushion. Meggie said towards the door, "Miss Morgan, please come in." Sophia happily stepped in but suddenly turned back to stop Emily as she was about to enter: "Meggie wants to see me, not you. Wait outside." Emily paused. Grace also said, "Emily, Meggie likes peace and quiet. If the three of us go in together, it will disturb her. Why don't you wait outside?"Emily smiled, "Okay." Grace was surprised. Emily agreed so easily? This wasn't like her. Grace had prepared for Emily to cause trouble today, but she was unexpectedly cooperative. Sophia had already walked in, "Meggie, hello, I..." Meggie's expression suddenly changed, "Who are you?" Sophia was stunned, slightly dazed, "I am Sophia Morgan..." "I'm not asking you. I'm asking the woman behind you. Who is she?" Meggie's sharp eyes stared at Grace like an eagle, making Grace a little nervous. With a forced smile, Grace answered, "I am Logan Morgan's wife..." "Did I ask you?" Meggie interrupted sternly, "I asked Sophia. Can't she speak?" Grace was left speechless, not daring to say more. Meggie glanced at Grace, her disdain obvious, "I invited Logan Morgan's daughter. What are you doing here? Entering my room without an invitation, is this the Morgan family's manners?" Meggie's words made Grace blush with embarrassment. She quickly backed out, "I'm sorry, I'll leave now." Emily was still standing at the door, hearing everything clearly. Seeing Grace's sullen face as she was sent out, Emily's lips curled slightly. Grace saw Emily too, cursed under her breath, stood further away from her, and remained silent but kept listening to the sounds from inside the room. Meggie was very domineering. Her words had scared Sophia. The pride she had just felt because of her degree was gone. Now she stood like a primary school student, waiting for Meggie's next instruction. "Sophia, I asked you a question." "Huh?" Sophia looked at Meggie blankly, not knowing what she meant. Meggie sneered, "I thought Logan Morgan's daughter was outstanding, but it turns out you are a fool."
