Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 198 The Argument

Sophia couldn't retort and just glared at Emily angrily. Grace also remained silent. Laughter came from the living room. Grace thought Herry was laughing at them but found him watching TV on the sofa. "I didn't sleep well last night. Mom, I'm going to take a nap," Sophia said. Grace stopped her. "Not so fast. Go say hello to your father first." Sophia frowned, annoyed. "No need. I'm tired and don't want to talk to him." Grace glared at her. "Listen to me. I'm your mother, and I won't harm you. Now, go to the study." "Fine," Sophia muttered and went to the study. Grace paused a moment before following her. Emily turned her attention back to her cooking, placing the omelet on a plate and setting it on the dining table. "Herry, breakfast is ready." Herry was reluctant to leave the sofa, engrossed in his cartoons. "Bring it over here for me to eat!" With Logan and Grace absent, Emily didn't want to indulge Herry's bad behavior. "I'll count to three. If you don't come over to eat, I'll throw the omelet in the trash." Herry glared at her. "Why are you so mean? No wonder you can't get married." Emily knocked on the dining table, silently warning him. "My personal life isn't your concern. One, two…" "Alright, I'm coming," Herry grumbled, jumping off the sofa and slowly making his way to the dining table. He sat down and started eating the omelet, grumbling, "You're only mean to me." Emily returned to the kitchen to get some porridge. Hearing his complaint, she replied, "I'm not being mean. I'm just teaching you to appreciate my effort. You wanted an omelet, and I made it because you're a child. Even if I have conflicts with your mom, I won't take it out on you. But you need to understand that I'm here because I got your dad into Taylor Group. I'm not a maid, and I won't put up with your bad attitude." Herry frowned irritably. "I get it. Stop bothering me while I eat." Emily didn't bother teaching him manners. Logan's indulgence would come back to bite him eventually. However, Herry wasn't entirely a brat. If it weren't for him, her hand might have been burned by acid."Herry, how did you know your sister put acid in the detergent bottle?" Herry took a sip of porridge. "I woke up hungry in the middle of the night and saw her pouring something into a bottle. In the morning, I noticed the plastic detergent bottle had been replaced with a stainless steel one, which seemed suspicious." His face was still bandaged from the burn, and chewing hurt his facial muscles. Despite the pain, Herry ate heartily without complaining. "Why did you warn me?" Emily asked. "Don't you hate me? Why not let me get hurt by the acid?" Herry glared at her, mimicking her tone. "I warned you because you're not so bad. When I got lost in the haunted house, my mom and sister left, but you looked for me. You have issues with my mom and sister, but that's between you and them. You helped me, so I helped you. We're even now." Emily was surprised and raised an eyebrow. "Fair enough. You have a conscience." "I'm really hungry. Stop talking to me. I need to eat," Herry grumbled. Emily nodded and left the dining table, returning to the kitchen to continue her work. Soon, Grace and Sophia emerged from the study, still looking pleased. "Sophia, why don't you have some breakfast before sleeping?" Grace suggested. Sophia originally didn't want to eat but decided she should enjoy Emily's service. Sophia nodded. "You're right. I am a bit hungry. I'll have an omelet." "I didn't make anything for you," Emily said without turning around, focused on cleaning the kitchen. "If you want to eat, make it yourself." Sophia's expression darkened. "You only made breakfast for Herry?" "Of coures." Emily dried her hands, removed her apron, and walked out of the kitchen. "Herry is the future heir of the Morgan family. I'm willing to make him breakfast. But you? You're not Logan's daughter. Why should I make breakfast for you?" "You…" Sophia gritted her teeth. "You're just jealous because I left Nathan and now have connections with the Norman family, aren't you? You're disappointed, right?" Emily chuckled. "Yes, I'm very disappointed. That dress you're wearing is utterly wasted on you." "Emily!!!" "What?""You want to argue, don't you? Let's get Dad here to settle this." Emily agreed. "Sure, go get him. I also want to know what right you have to enjoy the same treatment as Herry in this house." At the mention of Herry, Sophia fell silent. Logan's indulgence of Herry was unconditional. Anything involving Herry would have Logan siding with him. Sophia took a deep breath, suppressing her anger. "You won't be smug for long. Mrs. Norman said she would invite me to the Norman house again in a few days. You'll have no chance." "I have a boyfriend. I'm not interested in courting rich men." "You mean that masked fugitive?" Emily sneered. "Vincent Norman, the man you like, also wears a mask." "That's different. Vincent's mask was for the masquerade ball. Vincent is Norman's eldest son and a prime bachelor. Your boyfriend is just a fugitive!"
