Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal
Olivia hugged her tightly. "I went to the Hilton Hotel this morning to find you, but Allen Parker said you no longer live there. Where did you go?" As they chatted, they walked into the TV station. Emily explained her mother's situation to Olivia. "F.uck, Grace and Sophia are shameless! Grace was a homewrecker, and now Sophia is one too—one stole your mom's husband, and the other stole yours!" Emily was also angry. "Maybe life is just a cycle." Lucas had a heavy workload today. He got his makeup done in the morning, started recording a variety show at noon, and didn't finish until almost midnight. Emily stayed backstage the entire time. Lucas would come back occasionally to touch up his makeup. Olivia, as his assistant, stayed with him on set. She watched him from the audience, making Lucas visibly uncomfortable. Being watched by the boss's future wife was quite stressful. The host remarked, "Lucas, you seem a bit tense today. Are you not familiar with the environment?" Lucas wiped the sweat from his forehead. "It's not the environment, it's because the people..." "Do you feel there are too many people here? Haha, you've performed at concerts; we only have about two hundred people in the audience." Lucas looked troubled. "It's because of a very special person." "Oh? Is someone important here today?" "Kind of." The boss's future wife was certainly important. If he said no, he might not get any time off in the next six months. The boss would definitely pile on more work. However, fans interpreted Lucas's words differently. A very important person...Was Lucas hinting he was in a relationship? Fans started buzzing on social media. A hot topic appeared on Facebook and Twitter. While Lucas continued recording, Amanda received many calls. Seeing Amanda so busy, Emily stepped in to help manage the work. At that moment, Lucas returned backstage with Olivia. He collapsed on the sofa, covering his face with one hand and closing his eyes to rest. "Are you almost done?" Emily asked. Lucas shook his head. "Not yet. This should be the last touch-up." Emily nodded, grabbing her makeup kit and approaching him. After hours of recording, standing, and participating in various games, everyone is tired. Lucas was fit and regularly exercised, but he still looked exhausted. There was a makeup chair nearby, but considering Lucas's fatigue, Emily sat on the sofa beside him to do his touch-up. "Lucas, can you lower your head a bit?" "Sure." Lucas obediently lay back on the sofa, closing his eyes while she worked on his makeup. Emily straightened her back, as the lighting on the sofa wasn't great, forcing her to get closer to properly fix his makeup and hairstyle. After several checks, she sighed in relief. "It's OK. Do you want to rest for a bit, or do you have to go back on stage now?" His response was a gentle snore. He had fallen asleep. He must be truly exhausted. The director didn't come to wake him, giving him some rest time. Emily moved carefully, trying not to disturb Lucas. Even a superstar had it tough. Emily fetched a small blanket and gently covered Lucas. She didn't notice the curtain in the dressing room being pulled back slightly, with a phone discreetly snapping photos of them.About twenty minutes later, the director woke Lucas. Lucas drank some water and hurried back to the stage to continue recording. Emily's work was done. Amanda had given her the privilege to leave early if her tasks were completed, without waiting for Lucas. After packing up, Emily bid farewell to Olivia and Amanda and took a taxi back to the Morgan house. It was past 1 AM when she arrived home. The living room light was still on. Logan and Grace were sitting on the sofa, silent and tense. "You're still up?" Grace took a deep breath and stood up. "Emily, why did you come back so late today? Mr. Morgan has something to ask you." Emily sensed something was wrong. She said, "There was a lot of work today. I had to stay late." "Your work..." Grace intentionally hesitated, glancing at Logan before sighing. "Emily, I shouldn't interfere with your work, but your job really worries me." Logan remained silent, but Emily could tell he was displeased. She couldn't figure out how she had offended Logan. Whatever the reason, it must involve Grace. She decided not to worry. "My job often requires late hours..." "Is your job to be ambiguous with men?" Logan finally spoke up. "How important is your work that you have to be alone with a man late at night?" What was he implying? Emily frowned. Logan pointed at Grace and said sternly, "Show her the photos." Grace still pretended to be gentle. "Dear, don't be angry. Emily is a sensible girl. Maybe it's just a misunderstanding." "I hope it's a misunderstanding," Logan slapped the table. "Emily, what exactly is your job?""I'm a makeup artist," she replied. "A makeup artist for celebrities, specializing in makeup and styling." "For male celebrities?" "...Yes." Logan Morgan's expression darkened. "Tomorrow, you talk to your boss. If you must be a makeup artist, work for female celebrities. A male celebrity is still a man. If you get involved in a scandal with a male celebrity, everyone will know! Everyone knows you live in my house. What do you think that does to my reputation?"
