Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal
"Mom, I can't bear this humiliation, I can't!" Back in the car, Sophia angrily threw off the scarf that had been covering her head. In the rearview mirror, her rough face looked especially ridiculous. Grace glared at her, "There are still paparazzi outside. Keep your voice down." Grace had picked Herry from school and then rushed to Sophia. The situation was worse than she had anticipated. The paparazzi had taken plenty of photos and recorded many videos, so they didn't stop them from leaving. Grace drove around a few paparazzi who were still chasing them and took a shortcut out of the park. "Sister, what happened to your face?" Herry asked, wide-eyed in surprise. "Did you smear mud on it?" Sophia, already furious, yelled, "Shut up." Herry, with his strong personality, immediately shouted back, "Why are you yelling at me? Even Dad doesn't yell at me like that! Who do you think you are?" "Alright, alright, both of you, stop fighting. You're siblings." Grace's face was also not looking good as she drove. At a red light, she browsed through Twitter and Facebook. Sure enough, Sophia's news was everywhere. There were both photos and videos. She threw her phone aside, her face dark. "Mom, you don't understand. Today, Emily was like a completely different person. She was like an evil witch..." "That means she's improved," Grace said sharply. "She used to be timid like a rabbit, but now she's become a hedgehog. She's much harder to deal with. Only you are still so foolish." Sophia, sulking, turned her head away and said nothing. "What, you don't like hearing the truth?" Grace didn't soften her tone. "You had a big advantage, but now the situation is very unfavorable for you. Today's news is too attention-grabbing. I'm worried Nathan won't want to marry you." "He has to marry me," Sophia insisted. "Everyone knows he's going to marry me. If he backs out now, he'll be a scumbag." Grace sneered, "What do you think Nathan is? He's a CEO. If he backs out, more people will mock you than sympathize with you. If Logan Morgan hadn't returned, Nathan would have already kicked you out of the Reed family." "So what should I do?" Sophia was on the verge of tears. "Mom, tell me what to do!" "Don't rush me. I'm thinking. You've caused such a big mess, we need to resolve this first," Grace sighed. "Stay at the Morgan house for a few days. Don't go back to the Reed house." Sophia shook her head, "No, once I move out, it'll be hard to go back. I can't leave the Reed house." "Why stay there? Nathan has already seen through your pretense. He knows your image is fake. Seeing you will only make him dislike you more. You'd better keep a low profile for now. We'll think of another way." Before returning to the Morgan house, Grace had Sophia touch up her makeup in the car. After ensuring she looked the same as before, they got out of the car. Herry ran into the house and was hugged by Logan Morgan, "My boy, you're back from school? Did anyone bully you at school?" Herry shouted, "No one bullies me." "Good boy." Logan kissed him on the cheek. Herry wiped his cheek with the back of his hand, "Dad, you got slobber on my face." "You think Daddy's dirty?" "It's called personal hygiene. Don't you understand?" Logan had to placate him, "Alright, alright, I won't do it again, okay?" Logan caught sight of a dejected Sophia, "Sophia, you're here." Sophia smiled faintly, "Dad." Logan's smile was thin, and his voice was a bit cold, "I just saw you on TV." Sophia was taken aback, "Oh..." "Sophia," Logan's tone was serious, "You're not my biological daughter, but I'm still looking out for you. Shouldn't people consider each other? Shouldn't you think about me too? Now you're a hot topic online, and it's such a scandal. My friends are all asking why you look like that. How am I supposed to explain? You've embarrassed me! And Herry is still young. If anyone at school mocks him because of your news, how is he supposed to get along with his classmates?" Sophia hadn't expected Logan Morgan to react so strongly. She was momentarily stunned and turned to Grace for help. Grace was also surprised but quickly hid it, approaching with a smile, "Honey, did something at work upset you today?" Logan sighed, "Some friends visited me this morning. We saw Sophia's news, and now they must be laughing at me." "No way," Grace handed him a glass of water, gently persuading him, "This was all a setup against Sophia. She couldn't help it." Logan wasn't fooled, "It was Emily, wasn't it?" Grace put on a hurt expression, "Not entirely Emily's fault. The paparazzi are deliberately stirring things up. Emily is a good girl. She never used to do such things. I guess she thinks Sophia took her father away, so she's holding a grudge." "What right does she have to hold a grudge?" Logan slammed the table. "I may not even be her biological father. Who knows how many men her mother was with? What right does she have to be angry? And to take it out on Sophia? She's gone too far." "I didn't expect her to act like this," Grace continued, "But don't be angry. Emily isn't bad at heart. She probably didn't receive a good education. William and Bert are poor. Poor people only care about money, not morals. They must have taught Emily badly." Logan looked troubled, "Alright, stop defending her. How about this? I will invite Emily over to our house. If she has any grievances, she can take them out on me. Whether she wants money or something else, we'll settle it once and for all, so she won't cause any more trouble in the future."
