Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal
Herry felt a bit overwhelmed by all the compliments. Inside the haunted house, he hadn't spoken much and had been tightly holding Emily's hand. Whenever a "ghost" appeared, Emily would shield him from view; when there were puzzles to solve, she would venture ahead on her own to figure them out before guiding him forward. "No, it wasn't me, actually..." Herry was about to defend himself when he heard Grace's voice nearby: "Herry! Mommy's here, don't be scared!" At the sight of Grace, Herry broke down. Tears welled up instantly in his eyes. He pushed through the onlookers and rushed into Grace's embrace. "Mom!" "Don't cry, sweetheart. Have you been mistreated? Don't be afraid, we're all here. If someone's been bullying you, your dad will set them straight!" There was an implied meaning in her words, and Logan Morgan caught on. He gently patted Herry's head, full of concern, his expression serious. "Yes, Dad's right here. Has that woman been bullying you? What did she do to you?" Herry was still crying, unable to speak. Grace held him gently and spoke again. "Darling, Herry has never been a timid child. You've always taught him to be brave. He wouldn't cry like this just from being scared by ghosts. Someone must have bullied him..." "I know. Herry is my son; who else could understand him better?" Logan Morgan said firmly. "I know what's on your mind. I haven't seen Lisa in over twenty years; I couldn't possibly have feelings for her child. Herry is my beloved son. How could I bear to see him mistreated?" Grace's eyes also reddened. She looked up at him with a teary voice. "Darling, you're a good man who cares deeply for women. Lisa is a good person too. If you don't want to blame Emily because of your concern for Lisa, I understand. But I'm Herry's mother, and seeing him so upset breaks my heart!" "I know you're gentle and understanding. You're my wife; you don't need to dwell on the past. Whoever hurt my son, I won't let them get away with it." "Darling..." Grace rested her head on his chest, sobbing softly. "Marrying you is truly the greatest blessing of my life." "Alright, stop crying," Logan Morgan comforted her gently, but his gaze remained fixed on Emily standing not far away. His eyes gradually grew sharp. "Alright, take Herry over there to rest for a while, get him some snacks. I'll go have a chat with her."Grace led Herry away, nodding. "Okay, try not to be too angry. Regardless, she's Lisa's daughter. Even if she's done wrong, we shouldn't be too harsh on her. I reckon she's trying to avenge her mother by bullying our son..." "I understand. You've always been considerate of her. When has she ever thought of you? You're just too kind, letting others walk all over you." As he spoke, Logan Morgan's anger began to rise. His history with Lisa was a forbidden topic, one he absolutely didn't want to revisit, especially now that his son had been wronged. He couldn't swallow this. Logan Morgan strode purposefully toward Emily, while Grace, after he left, changed from her pitiful demeanor to one of subtle, almost imperceptible, satisfaction. Emily, your mother couldn't defeat me back then. And you, do you think you can compete with me now? You're going to lose miserably! "Mom..." Herry wiped his tears. "Mom, I'm thirsty. I want to drink cola." Grace wiped her tears with a tissue, tossed it into the nearby trash can, and said, "Come on, Mom will take you to buy some cola." Herry said, "Mom, actually, sister didn't bully me. I was just too scared, that's why I cried." Grace abruptly stopped in her tracks, her gaze turning sharp. "What did you call her?" "Sister," Herry blinked. "I remembered at the car show backstage, you told me to call her sister." Grace sneered. "Herry, remember this. Your only sister is Sophia. That woman is a bad person; she wants to compete with you for Dad's affection. Think about it. If your dad starts loving her more than us, what will we do?" Herry was puzzled, furrowing his brow. "Mom, she's not a bad person, and she doesn't have anything to do with Dad, right? Why would she try to compete with me for Dad's affection?" "Who told you she's not a bad person? Just because you went through a haunted house with her, you think she's not bad? Let me tell you, she's like a witch in disguise. When you least expect it, she'll betray you." Herry scratched his head. He thought about it but ultimately chose to believe his mom. After all, his mom was the gentlest and kindest person to him. "Herry, tell Mom, what did you hear inside?" Grace asked."Scary music, and wind sounds!" "No, I meant Emily. What did she say to Sophia? And Nathan, did they say anything strange?" Herry hesitated. "Um, I don't really understand what's considered strange, but I heard her say Sophia was pregnant and shouldn't be in the haunted house. She asked the staff to escort Sophia out." "Alright, what else?" "Nothing else," Herry suddenly remembered. "Oh wait, she was on the phone the whole time inside the haunted house. The person she was talking to seemed really good at helping us solve puzzles, which is why we got out so quickly." Now comes the key point. Grace smirked slightly and continued, "Could you hear what that person was saying?" Herry shook his head. "I couldn't hear, but I heard Emily call him something like Mr. Satan?" "Mr. Satan?" Grace repeated. "Yeah, it sounded like a name, but I couldn't hear clearly."
