I slowly got out of my bed and ran to the door. Upon opening the door, I saw Nicholas standing outside with a paper bag. I asked in confusion, “Why did you come here? Don't you need to rest?” Nicholas raised his hand and waved the paper bag in front of me. He smiled and replied, “Are you hungry? I asked Jake to buy some food. Do you want to eat together?” I instinctively rubbed my stomach. Although I was not that hungry, I felt like eating after hearing there was food. Nicholas blinked when he saw my action. I laughed and stepped aside for him to enter. “Actually, I am not that hungry but rather sleepy. I almost fell asleep before you came. But you have stimulated my appetite. What did Jake buy? I heard there are many delicious foods in Yaleview.” Nicholas chuckled and teased, “I didn't know you are such a glutton. You just arrived in Yaleview and you are already thinking of the foods here.” I replied reasonably, “All humans have to eat. Is there any problem with that?” Nicholas shook his head and kept a straight face. “No problem. You are right!” We exchanged a smile. We were in a good mood. Nicholas pulled me toward the table and sat me down. Then he took out the food items in the paper bag and placed them on the table. I could not wait to eat these foods as I looked at them. Although I was a little hungry and did not particularly feel like eating a while ago, my appetite was stimulated upon seeing them. The foods were not the main dish. They were popular desserts and snacks as Nicholas had mentioned earlier. Looking at all these foods, I got to hand them to Jake. His efficiency was almost comparable to Calvin's.I suddenly thought of Shannon, whom I had called the day before. Shannon had complained and also mentioned her regrets during the call. She said that she could not visit the interesting places she wanted to and eat the delicious foods there. All in all, she was not satisfied. I had tried to hide my amusement. Looking at the foods on the table, I recognized that some of them were mentioned by Shannon before. Hence, I fished out my phone, took some photos, and sent it to Shannon. There was a message attached to these photos: I am eating the foods you wanted to eat and accompanied by Nicholas! Are you jealous? Looking at the words I had typed, I let out a cruel laugh. Shannon will definitely hate me for this. As expected, after a few minutes, Shannon replied with a voice message.I clicked into the voice message and thought I heard a lion's roar. The sound also surprised Nicholas as he dropped his food. “You wretched woman! Believe it or not, I will get on a plane right now and deal with you!” I coughed and cleared my throat. I replied calmly, “Nicholas heard whatever you just said. So unrefined.” Nicholas smiled as he shook his head. “Shannon is already sad that she couldn't come. Stop teasing her or she'll really come over and whoop your *ss.” I blinked fearlessly. “She has new authors to follow up with and is busy with other authors' book signings. She is too swamped to do anything about it.” Nicholas was confused. “I thought she is only responsible for you.” I was still chewing, so my words were muffled. “How is that possible? She usually helps me more because we have a good relationship. It is the same as showbiz. It is common for a manager to take care of a few celebrities.” Nicholas nodded his head and smiled. “Then, shouldn't you be nicer to Shannon?” I chuckled. “That's because we have a special relationship. I wouldn't have done this to other people.” To put it simply, Shannon would not really get mad at me since we had a strong relationship. “Then what do you think about me? Do you think our relationship is special?” I was preparing to drink my fruit juice. Upon hearing Nicholas' words, I was dumbfounded. I glanced up and accidentally made eye contact with him. I quickly looked away and drank a mouthful of my fruit juice. After gulping down the juice, I replied, “Of course it is special. Although you are famous, I will not judge you for it. You and Shannon are the same. Both of you are my friends. Shannon is my best friend. As for you, you can be my brother! Would you give me the honor?” The smile never left Nicholas' face as he nodded his head in agreement. He lifted his hand. “Brother, let's shake on this.” I immediately shook his hand with a smile on my face. Thereafter, we started chatting while eating. I began to feel sleepy after eating. My eyes closed as I yawned, and I could feel tears welling up. Nicholas patted my head and teased me lightly, “Are you a pig? Only a pig goes to sleep right after eating.” I raised my chin defiantly and glared at him. “Did you just insult me in my face? I am not a pig.” Nicholas laughed and stood up. “You should sleep. I'll go back and rest for a while too. I'll bring you out for supper when you wake up.” With that, he waved goodbye to me and left. After Nicholas left, I lay on my bed in a disheveled manner. I was really sleepy. I sat on the bed blankly for a few seconds. My imagination went wild before I crawled under the blanket and fell into a deep slumber. Haha! I think I have watched too many dramas. Why did I think for a second that Nicholas likes me? He could have asked the question without any meaning. I must be thinking too much. Being friends with Nicholas is already a miracle. We are not filming a drama. However, remembering all the gossips Shannon said before, I could not help but wonder what I would do if Nicholas really liked me. Nicholas is such a good catch. He is handsome, gentle and a good actor. Everyone would envy his girlfriend. At that moment, Dominic's face flashed across my mind. I closed my eyes as my heart beat wildly. I could not help but sigh. So what if he is a good catch? He is not Dominic. Right then, my phone rang right beside my ear and I nearly fell out of my bed in surprise.
