The Second Love

Chapter 166 Here You Are

I thought it was my imagination. There was no way he could have found me in just a few short hours. Furthermore, I had randomly chosen Livingsfill. However, when someone grabbed onto my hand and turned me around forcefully, I knew it was none other than Dominic. Feeling both cold and fearful, I couldn't help but tremble when his gloomy face came into view. As if my brain wasn't working, I asked stupidly, “D-Do you want to have some?” Dominic stared at me with his darkened gaze. Just when I thought he was going to ignore me, I heard him bark in a frosty voice, “Mister, cook faster. We're taking the food with us.” Intimidated by Dominic, the stall owner quickly prepared the food. Without another word, Dominic pulled me aside to sit at one of the tables. Given how intently he was glaring at me, my heart began to pound in fear. The calm before the storm was frightening indeed. After being seated for a while, I could no longer stand the look Dominic was giving me. Glancing at the convenience store beside us, I decided to get a drink. Just when I was about to move, Dominic's gaze sharpened as if it was a sword. Momentarily frozen, I stammered, “I... I'm going to get some yogurt.” However, when Dominic showed no response, I clenched my fists and was at a loss about what to do. What does he want with that icy expression of his? Just when I was still hesitating, the owner handed me my food. “Your food is ready. That will be fifty-eight.” After receiving my food, I rummaged through my purse. However, Dominic slapped a hundred on the table and dragged me to the convenience store instead. “Dominic...” “Shut up!” he barked, silencing me. After he dragged me to the drinks shelf, he grabbed two of them and flung them into my arms. Hugging them anxiously, I realized that they were my favorite. After that, he brought me to the frozen section. After picking up two bottles of my favorite yogurt, he led me to the cashier. Before the cashier finished totaling the bill, Dominic threw a hundred at him. Caught by surprise, the cashier mumbled, “Um... Sir, please wait a moment while I tally the bill.” However, Dominic ignored him and left with me in tow. Watching what had unfolded, I felt it a waste to see two hundreds gone just like that. After leaving the store, Dominic pulled me along to my hotel without even asking for directions. In fact, he even knew which room I was staying in. Gaping, I wondered if he had installed some sort of tracker on me. After entering the room, the slam of the door jolted me to attention. I'm doomed... Is he preparing to settle the score? Sighing in resignation, I felt as if I was nothing but a disgrace. Even though we quarreled the night before, and he was being unreasonable to me all the time, there was no reason for me to fear him so much. Nevertheless, in the face of his stern expression, all I could manage was to curse him in my heart. Considering how awkward the circumstances had become, I wondered what he was trying to achieve by staring intently at me. Is he trying to torment me slowly?Unable to endure it any longer, I asked meekly, “H-How did you know where to find me?” After looking at me silently, he turned and took a seat on the couch. “Did you actually think you could flee from me? No matter where you are, I'll always be able to find you.” Momentarily shocked, I replied in resignation, “I wasn't trying to flee. Besides, didn't I send you a message telling you that I needed some time to think?” In fact, I even told him not to look for me. Evidently, he had ignored what I said and insisted on tracking me down. What exasperated me the most was his denial that I sent him a message about it. “Is that so? Why am I not aware of it?” How can he claim ignorance when I obviously sent him a message? Pursing my lips, I explained, “Dominic, I feel that there's a need for both of us to think about—” He interrupted me with a frosty tone, “In that case, go on and think about it right now.” Stumped, I didn't know what else I could do. “What is it that you want?” Dominic sneered, “I should be the one asking you that question. Not only did you secretly flee, you even turned off your phone. Liliana, are you trying to hide from me?” Sighing, I replied in frustration, “I wasn't trying to run. Didn't I tell you that I needed some time to clear my mind?” Dominic scoffed, “What's there in your head that needs clearing? What do you think you can achieve?” I snapped, “Dominic, can't you be more civil?” “In that case, tell me what you have achieved after doing so for a day?” He's obviously doing this on purpose. If I could find the solution within such a short time, I wouldn't have needed to leave. At that moment, I was so furious that I didn't feel like saying a word. Sitting with my legs crossed on the bed, I began eating my grilled skewers. After all, I could never win in an argument with him. Staring at Dominic, I chewed the meat in my mouth with vengeance as if I had just bitten off a piece of his flesh. However, Dominic wasn't going to let me eat in peace. He walked over, snatch the skewer from my hand, and took the rest of the food to a table by the side. Jumping off the bed, I ran after him and yelled, “Why are you taking away my food? Just because you don't want it, it doesn't give you the right to stop me from having it.” Before I could get the food back, he had dragged me back to the bed and pushed me onto it.Clasping my legs with his, Dominic sat on top of me, restraining me in position. Infuriated, I desperately tried to push him away. “Get off me! You're so heavy!” He retorted with a smirk, “After pressing on you so many times, I have never heard you complain about my weight.” Feeling anxious, I blurted, “You... That's different!” “Oh?” Dominic's devilish grin widened as he replied, “Why don't you tell me the difference?”
