You Were Warned

Chapter 91 Merna

*Merna* ‘My room!’ I heard in my head. I was just heading to the entrance to Chaos Place when he made his demand. ‘I need a bath, I smell like pine and wet earth.’ ‘Later I want to speak with you!’ He sounded a little miffed. ‘I smell like shit!’ I whined. There was a growl in my head that made my lady bits drench in wet fluid. ‘Heading to you now!’ I opened the door to Chaos’s chamber without knocking. He stood beside the fire gazing down at it with a goblet of wine in his hands. There is a bottle of wine and a glass. If you wish to have a bit of wine, serve yourself. This was uncharacteristic behaviour for Chaos. I have seen him many times lost in his thoughts but never this distance. I gave a sideways grin, “Penny for your thoughts?” I said as I closed the door. With a grunt, “Wine?” That is all he said. As his back was still to me. Strolling over to the table where the items were located I glanced down, for the longest time I had denied everything that he had offered. I had stayed strong, yet this place was having more of an impact than I had anticipated. He was having an impact on me. My initial plan was to leave at the first chance with Pierre. Then he told me that he did not want to leave, he finally found a place in which he belonged. Since then I have questioned where I belonged. Sure Chaos is the biggest asshat I have ever met! And yet I haven't had this much excitement as long as I can remember. Being here, my potential has risen faster than ever. I am never bored. And minus a few unpleasant scenarios, this place is surprisingly appealing. I tipped the jug of wine into the cup, filling it up roughly an inch. After placing the container back where I had gotten it I lifted the glass and strolled over to Chaos. Before I reached where Chaos was standing, he materialized two chairs that faced the fire. Sitting in one he gestured for me to sit in the other chair. I was worried, “Is mother still insisting that you and I need each other?” Finally, Chaos looked at me, raising a brow, “You going to drink that?” I know what the underlying meaning was, “you did not answer my question!”Rumbling, “Nor did you answer mine!” A smile crept up on my face, “Answering a question with a question eh!” Chaos started to lightly chuckle, “You are annoying, I do not know why I put up with you?” “I do!” I spoke softly. Chaos replied with a hmph noise. A huge smile was on my face, “It is the red hair!” I said jokingly. “What did my mother say?” “She was open enough though still cryptic with her response.” Chaos sounded a bit annoyed with what Mother had told him. “I always found that annoying.” I swirled the liquid around in the glass. “It means one or the other. One … What she has seen or knows has to transpire as is and telling you may … she does not want the path to change. Two … Or it is subject to change and the outcome is unclear! Meaning there are several versions of the same event!” I cleared my throat, "ask what it is that you really want to know?” Chaos’ head snapped in my direction, “Did she create you to destroy myself and our siblings?” “Straight to the point!” I glared at the liquid, “Yes! But … If there is a way that I can put them … meaning your siblings … in their place, I am to do that first. It is Mothers blood after all!” Snarling, “What about me and my family?” “I can not!” I opened and closed my mouth, thinking about what I was going to say as Chaos’ eyes had flecks of gold energy swirling around in his obsidian eyes. “I just can not do it!” “Of course!” Chaos finished off the remainder of the wine that was in his glass. Gesturing towards the glass that was in my hands, “You know what it means if you drink that?” My eyes snapped up from the liquid, “Do I look like a fool?” “I might have at the beginning! I could easily use you to overthrow my siblings then take away the title of consort making you my serf!” I could not figure out what emotion was rolling around in his mind. I started to chuckle, “you know just as well as I do, that the rules have changed. You are aware of what I can do.” I huffed, “we do not even know what I can actually do!” I started to snort out a laugh, “I could easily override everything that you have said and do what I do best … whatever it is that I want!” My eyes for some odd reason decided that they wanted to water up. Chaos studied me for a bit, “you like the power you have? You did not have this amount of power on the earthly realm.”“Maybe!” I glared at the wine again, “I can not go back to that shit hole of an existence. But I love my freedom above all!” I paused for a second as my mind wandered. “I never knew anyone that I could ever work with!” Swirling the liquid in the goblet. “Do you have any idea what it feels like to be subjected to the dullness of a human borns life? The mundane … routine existence! Having to play nice when in my mind I am screaming to be let free! That is why I stay away from them … the human borns. Interacting only enough to pay the bills. I would very much prefer to be in the woods alone with little to no contact with human borns. A vast majority of them piss me off to the point that it is hard not to think of their deaths.” Chaos started to chuckle, “you prefer me over them!” ‘Maybe!’ I filled my mouth with wine and swallowed, “you're tolerable!” I took a mouth full wishing this was whisky or rum. “You give me a task and I complete it. Not getting in my way until you have something else that needs to be done.” I finished the wine, “I like the challenges that you give me, it is never dull!” “I would agree!” Chaos got up from his chair taking my glass, “refill?” “Why not!” I watched Chaos’s backside as he reached the table. His back was to me, “What do you see?” I started to giggle, “besides that fine ass of yours!” Chaos turned his head to look at me, “I did not realize you liked my ass that much!” He smiled a toothy grin. His toothy grin reminded me of how dangerous Chaos could be. “Have you seen the options there are in the physical realm, all of the realms?” He filled both of our goblets. “Tell me what you see?” Chaos handed me back the glass filled to the rim with wine, “what are your thoughts pertaining to my family?” I was glaring at the wine, wondering if I should speak. “Hypothetically speaking?” He gave me a slight nod, “Yes!” I took a sip of the wine, “you are already more powerful than all of us. Yes there are things that you can not interfere with regardless of your thoughts. It is what it is! Your siblings have forgotten everything … I do not know when they got on their high horse, but they forgot the purpose of their existence. They will either listen to you … or they will deal with me!” I took another sip as Chaos listened to what I had to say, “you are not someone that can be told what to do. Then again … nor am I!” “It never goes well for those that cross me!” Chaos pointed out his fact. “I recommend that you give your siblings a stern warning that if they continue down the path that they are going, disaster awaits them.” I took another sip as Chaos waited to see if I would say anything else. “It is your choice if you tell them what the disaster is that is hunting them.” “This is what will happen …” Chaos started while leaning towards me. “Speak plainly, I am past tired of hidden messages and half truths!” I bobbed my head up and down, “do not blame you … there are things that I … My dreams only give me bits and pieces of information. I find it infuriating. So I do not rely on it. I …” I inhaled and let it out slowly, “I prefer evidence over dreams, but everything I see …” A tear rolled down my face, “I have seen so many horrible things that keep me up at night … if they do not listen to you … I am trying to save several billion lives!” Chaos got up from his seat, cupping my face with his hand and wiping the stain of the tear. “Can I sleep with you, if the bad dreams come, you can wake me up?” I whispered. “I am so tired of the nightmares I see …” Chaos did not say a word as he moved me from my spot, sat down in my spot and guided me to sit on his lap. Whispering into my head, “Tell me about these so-called dreams?” “I have been having these dreams since I was sixteen. They come and go, but when things are going to happen … the dreams increase. I have now been seeing them while I am walking. For the most part I can block them out … You giving me a lot of work to do helps!” I smiled up at Chaos. “There are several of them! Bits and parts of them are similar, but the main things remain the same. Your siblings start everything … billions of innocent souls are affected because of their desire to have full control over ALL realms.” I took a sip of the wine. Resting my head on his chest, “there is a lot of unnecessary bloodshed. Your siblings are the cause of it all! They need to be stopped! Since there are so many ways that this could happen, I do not know what path to take. Everything is like a jigsaw puzzle and I have to match up all the pieces and try to make sense of all of this.” His voice was harsh and low, “I know one thing … you are not leaving me now!” With his free hand, Chaos pointed to the wine, “you’re mine!” Drinking all of the content that was in his goblet. “Maybe!” I whispered as he took my drink. “Until you exist no more! You are mine!” Sounding sure of himself. I placed my hand on Chaos’ shoulder, snuggling into him, “missing human borns … the numbers will increase rapidly or the authorities will realize what is going on and the numbers will put them in a state of shock. Since I am here, I can’t investigate! Two … A large burial ground of unmarked graves will be revealed to the human borns, the number of bodies will reach into the hundred-thousands … three, large amounts of fires. The black smoke will cover the land, blocking out the sun for months. Countries will wake up in darkness. Crops will fail to grow. Many will die from hunger and breathing issues. Four … the land will shake rapidly, splitting the land from one country to the next. The mouth of the split land will be wide enough for a child to slide down. Last … civil war! The human borns will stand up against all governments. They will try to stop communication, but before this happens man will anticipate this move from their governments and the head of these groups will teach others how to communicate long distance without standard communication of the telephone.” I glanced up at Chaos, “I do not have proof it is all hypothetical, but I believe your siblings have been whispering in the ears of the human born elites, government personal and CEO’s”
