You Were Warned

Chapter 59 Merna, Emma, Puabi

*Merna* I could hear Mother in my mind, “Mother tells me that she would like me to help you with getting your … siblings off your back! She told me that you do not realize it but you need my help!” Chaos snorted, “I do not need your help with the matters of my siblings?” I hummed while I listened to Mother chattering in my mind. Gazing up into the night sky, “I would agree with you! She told me that I need you as well! I think Mother needs a mental revaluation!” I snickered to myself. “Remember that it is my sister, your creator that you are speaking about!” Chaos tone had been a warning I smirked, “So you disagree with me?” I smiled up at him knowing full well what his reply would be. “I did not say that, I am just warning you to watch your mouth. You are close to being out of line!” He had one brow raised. I had an overconfident grin on my face, “Whether I spoke the words out loud or thought them in my mind, you would have heard them regardless, so what is the difference?” “Keep on walking and watch where you are going?” The Master grumbled Game score, ‘three for the Master, two for me!’ Gauging Chaos' expression, he heard my thoughts. The Master only glared at me with one brow raised. I started to snicker knowing sooner or later he would catch on to my score count. We had been walking for a bit before Chaos spoke, “You do not fear me!” I took that more as a statement versus a question. “What is there to fear but fear itself! It is the unknown that bothers every species. That is why my kind is sought out more than anything, seers, mediums, psychics, those who can see things that you and others do not. Your siblings want to know what is to come. It bothers them that they do not know. And from what my mother tells me, your siblings do not like the power you possess. I guess when the light can be measured yet the darkness does not seem to have a beginning nor an end, that would bother anyone who did not understand. I, on the other hand, enjoy walking between worlds. After I acclimate myself, the anxiety is replaced with understanding and rational thinking.” “Is that so?” I could not tell if he was buying what I was saying or thinking of ways to test my words. I kept on leading the Master in the direction that I could see the stream of light that would lead me to the dead body. “Think of it this way, the majority of existence has a hard time seeing what is in the dark. So they fear what they can’t see! That would be you and all those that are similar to yourself. You are dangerous! At least to those that fear you, I on the other hand find comfort in the darkness. It is a place where I can be alone and no one will look for me. Your siblings are of the light … at least that is what they claim. Since their power only extends to the reaches of their source it is limited. Limitation is something they can not seem to fathom, it bothers them that they have a limit yet you seem to have none on top of that you have no beginning nor an ending.” Chaos hummed, “You put it in a way that your mind can understand it.” He clicked his tongue, “it is something I see quite a lot. Yet there is still much you do not know!” “Whether it is in your terms of understanding or in the mindset of a human born, neither way is wrong nor right.” I stepped over a large fallen tree, “the mindset of your siblings is based on fear and irrational emotions. They state that they do not base their judgement on emotions like human borns, yet they are the ones that are more emotional than human borns.” I paused for a second, holding onto a sapling ready to step over a fallen tree. “For not knowing, I have lived and died over a hundred of times, what makes you think I would retain all the information. When a computer crashes, information that is not saved is lost. The mind is no different! What information I lost was not prevalent to how I am now!” Chaos started to chuckle, “You seem to think that you know more about my world than I do!” Stepping over the fallen tree, “I would never claim to understand fully the experiences that you have had. You have had only one consecutive life, where I have had many. Though there are things that even you do not know where as I do. I am only stating facts, things that you already know or do not! The only thing that you do not know at this point is where the dead body is, who did it, and whom sent the spy?” “So you say!” His tone was low, with narrowed eyes set on me. I spotted where the stream of light ended, “there!” I pointed in the direction of the body. The darkness may have made it difficult for others, yet in the darkness, I was able to see specks of light that illuminated in the dark. Allowing me to see what many would overlook. The Master stopped moving his feet and sniffed the air. “You are right!” He passed me and walked over towards the dead serf without my assistance. “Merna, you might be more useful than what I had originally thought. Even my hunters haven't found this body. It would have taken us longer to smell the decay. Yet your insite brought us here. Your first test has been successful.” The side of his lip was turned up. I have always felt more at home in the other realms! Earth never felt like the place that I should have been. The woman who pushed me out of her body was perfect. She gave me what it was that I needed. I could never ask for anything else but what was needed for survival. Here! It was more of a home than Earth. I could not help but grin and lower my head, “I will take that as a complement and leave it at that!” “Do you know who did this?” Chaos was studying the body. “I only know the female spy by looks! As you already know, a name gives a person power over them!” Pointing at the body, “you wouldn’t have found the body anytime soon!” I crouched and pointed out the liquid that had been poured onto the body. “This is to mask the smell of decay. I am a betting individual … so I would say that there would only be bones by the time you found the body. This spy was aiming to stay for a very long time. I also would not be suppressed if this act has been going on for a while … Something tells me this has been going on for a while! I have no proof of this nor did I see it in my mind … just a hunch!” Chaos rubbed his fingers into the stain then brought his fingertips up to his nose. “So you say!” *Emma* I was brought back to the mistress, by the punisher. Entering the prostitute room, the female openly mocked me. I felt like punching each of them in the face as I clenched my fists at the side of my body. The punisher handed me two dice, “roll them!” He ordered with a grin on his face. I did as I was told. “Ten and two, you are lucky that equals twelve!” He looked disappointed. Picking up the dice he handed one to me, “odds workers, even hunters, roll it!” “One, odd, workers!” He started to laugh, “you will service twelve of the workers before they bathe!” I could hear some of the girls gasp, giggle or gag. “You will do as they want!” The punisher added with a wicked grin. “How you perform will depend if you are punished further!” *Puabi* We all watched as Emma was being taken away. It felt like someone was watching me, glancing at the doorway, Merna was standing there. With her head, she motioned for me to follow her. I was in the hallway when I saw her heading towards her chamber. Soon after she had walked into her chamber she closed the door. “Do you love Camile?” She asked me after closing the door. “I do not have to answer any questions from you!” I was defensive. “Will you take care of her if I can prevent her from being sold?” This caught my attention.I crossed my arm in front of me, “what are you saying?” “Camile and several others are going to be sold very soon, the Master is going to need gold!” Merna rushed her thoughts out. “He told me he will not sell Camile until he …” I placed my hand over my mouth. Merna had her hands on her hip, “there is a conflict that is about to get heated up. The war that will happen that I can not stop, but I could try to save Camile … I just need to know if you will care for her?” My voice was shaky, “What can you do that I have not tried?” “I do not know right now! What I did see is that two hearts will be broken and Camile will die. Not physically, but she will shut down that she will feel nothing. Even when the buyer burns her flesh, she will not feel a thing. I can not stand by and do nothing when it is unjustifiable the horrendous acts that will be sent her way. Again, will you take care of her?” Tears were threatening to fall, “she is my mate!” Merna was taken aback, “I have no idea what a mate means to you, but I am going to guess it is a spouse.” “A mate is when the fates step in to give you your other half to make both whole.” I did everything I could to compose myself. My heart started to ache at the thought of losing Camile. “That is all I need to know! I will let you know what I am going to do, once I figure something out. I just … I can not allow a soft spoken spirit to be mistreated.” Merna opened the chamber door, “I would also like it if you do not speak of this. If the Master finds out what I am doing … I see him showing his true nature. I can understand why many fear him!” “He will not hear a thing from me!” I started to rub my arm. “Have you thought about telling the Master what Camile means to you? Would that change things?” I could see the wheels turning in her mind. I started to chuckle sarcastically, “you saw his true nature! I am a mistress … Do you think he will give me a mate?” A tear rolled down my face, “he will kill her … probably bring her back to existence just to sell her!” “I have not seen what he would do if you told him what Camile means to you! Sorry, I can not help you out there!” Merna held the door open, “go!” She motioned with her head for me to leave, “I will do everything possible to change her fate. Her fate is not sealed in stone yet!”
