You Were Warned
*Puabi* I was walking about with Camile when I spotted Merna. Her head was high as she sped towards my direction. She paid no one any attention until she got closer to me. As she walked past us, Merna turned her head as her eyes were glued on me. An unreadable expression on her face, but it was her eyes that spoke differently. For a split second, I thought I could see blue/ gold swirls of energy moving where her emerald eyes should have been. The rumours were spreading about Merna. She was the most hated individual here or she was feared. “What do you know about Merna?” I asked Camile. Shrugging her shoulders, “not much actually. She was invited to join the group by her friend Pierre.” Camile started to think, “Merna tried to warn us that she didn’t feel comfortable entering the woods. I remember that Pierre told her to stay in the truck. But she told him that she needed to go to protect his sorry ass.” She started to giggle. “I remember Merna saying something like the land speaks to her, or something weird like that!” I stopped walking, “Merna was not supposed to be with the group?” That seemed odd to me. “No … Markous was livid when he realised that Merna was there. But I wouldn’t worry much about Merna, something tells me she can handle herself.” Camile started to laugh, “Merna hit Markous so hard in the face he landed on the ground!” Camile started to laugh harder, “Markous has always thought he could get anyone to do whatever he wanted by bullying them. Then there is Merna! Not only did she get in his face and hold her own, she full force punched him in the face. He went flying backwards from her force! She puts up with no one's shit!” We both laughed for a bit, “I can picture her doing that!” I whispered into her ear as I secretly got a kiss out of her before anyone could see us. “Why do you think she was staring at us?” Camile asked me. Wrapping my arm around her waist, “I do not know, I was hoping you would know!” She just shrugged her shoulders, “I do not know!” *Master* “Sister!” I yelled knowing that she would not be that far from her creation. “Pirapancam?” I roared. “Oh … dear brother …” My sister's voice echoed in the twilight. “How … I wish … you were not here!” She made her point at her displeasure with my presence.“Merna!” I had more questions that I knew she would have. “You need her!” My sister kept to the same hogwash as before. “I do …” I started. “What is it that human borns love to say all of the time … ah yes … bull shit! You need a consort and someone that can put up with you and …” “Stop it!” I roared, “I did not come here about her position as a consort. Her eyes changed … What is she?” There was silence for the longest time. “Chaos, my dear brother … you saw it for yourself, Merna is out of control … you can guide her!” “You created her, what is Merna?” Why would my sister not mention what bloodline runs through Merna’s veins? “I already told you I can’t reveal what her true identity is!” Pirapancam began, “What I can say … Merna has a nasty little temper when someone disrespects her or rubs her the wrong way.” Pirapancam cleared her throat, “I should have warned you about her unexpected explosive temper. And since she is getting very comfortable with her surroundings, what Merna would consider as control is now starting to slip. Her true nature is coming out.” Pirapancam floated closer to me, “You saw what she did for her bro.th.er! Merna is loyal to a default. Used her term of logic to try to protect him!” She paused, “you saw what she was able to do to Zefer!” Roaring, “That is why I am here!” Just the thought of Pierre near Merna sent my blood boiling over the edge. Thick black smoke came out of my nose. “What is Merna’s bloodline Pirapancam?” I asked as I clenched my teeth. “I can not tell you what her bloodline is, Chaos!” Pirapancam began, “What I can tell you is … our siblings are coming up with a coup to get rid of you and your family. Merna will be very handy if you could just …” I stopped Pirapancam from finishing her sentence. “What? What will Merna be helpful with?” “Control that temper of yours!” Pirapancam warned me. “Win Merna over!” My sister paused for a second. “You have less than a year before our siblings attack. The only sister that is not fully on board with the coup is Selene. She has claimed to remain neutral! Then there is Iravu! She has always been against our siblings!” I hummed while I remembered the interaction between our eldest sister and me. “How will this coup start?” She placed her hands in front of her, relaxing her arms, “It already has, and they are working on getting Merna alone!” Pirapancam informed me.“That will never happen!” I started, “what else did your seer tell you?” I was starting to calm down a bit. “I would recommend you leave now then, the spy is gaining on Merna right now.” Pirapancam added, “because you took Merna, she is on the wrong side!” I huffed out the smoke with a flick of fire from my mouth, “what do you mean?” “Merna was never to be with the group, she was only to warn the group of what was to happen. Merna was to go up against our siblings in the earthly realm. That was where Merna’s true nature was to slowly emerge. You are going to have to guide Merna … Best of luck dear brother. Maybe you can do what I was never capable of doing. Now leave before the Spy gets to Merna!” *Merna* I was heading back to the throne room, and every hair on my body told me to go there. Several times I stopped paddling the floor with my footsteps. It felt like I was being watched. Hunters patrolled the halls but that shouldn’t be enough to give me this feeling that I was being watched. The serf that had given me the cloth to shove up my lady bit was speed walking towards me. Whispering in my ear, “you must go back to your chamber!” I glanced at all of the hunters that were eyeing me up and down. At this point, I did not have time for their questioning eyes. I had other pressing matters at hand, “no, I am going to the throne room, that is where the Master will show up!” One of the hunters left his post and strolled over towards me, “You are coming with me!” He said as he went to grasp my arm. I could hear the Master’s voice in the hunter's mind ‘find the female with phoenix hair!’ “Take me to the throne room!” I told the hunter. ‘Was that a growl?’ The hunter was growling at me. I am going to assume that he was not used to any female giving him orders nor speaking out loud besides answering a question. ‘When the female is found, take her to the throne room!’ I could hear the mind link between the hunter and Chaos. “Told you!” I said to the hunter with a big smile on my face. The hunter led me away from the female serf. Once I got to the entrance of the throne room, the Master was there. I waited for the hunter to leave before I guided my legs toward the Master. Whispering, “Chaos, you looked troubled! What is wrong?” The Master raised one eyebrow, “only my most trusted can use my name!” He hissed with a tempered storm that was about to explode. “You never answered my question!” I pointed out. Was I walking on thin ice, yep! Could I get my head chopped off, once again yep! Man this is going to be a long week, one bloody mess! “Your mother …” Chaos started. I started to shake my head, “she can be the most irritating woman I have ever met!” “The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree!” Chaos glared at me. Placing my hands on my hip, “No shit sherlock!” I gave Chaos a one over, “what did she have to say?”
