You Were Warned

Chapter 126 Merna

Merna My eyes were swollen from the tears that I had shed. Once I thought I was done, I would start up again with just the thought of Chaos or Ashur. I do not know who was getting more irritated with the outburst of tears, the guys or myself. I had enough of this roller coaster of emotions, I went to the washroom wash my face trying to make myself appear presentable and pushed those mother fuckers of emotions down to the very bottom pit of my soul. Once I was happy with my appearance and I did not look like death had come for a visit, I told the guys that I was ready to leave. Looking for my phone I was thankful that Pierre was thinking ahead of me and placed my phone on the charger. Glancing at my phone, we exited the house shortly after ten in the morning. “Your truck or my car?” I shuffled around in my pocket looking for my keys. “Like hell I am going to allow you to drive!” Pierre pointed towards his truck, “Get your ass in!” The first place that we visited was the lawyer. This was our backup plan just in case things did not run as smoothly as we had hoped. Making sure there was a written will stating that I was the beneficiary of all of Pierre’s belongings, estate and bank accounts. And if we had children, things would be divided equally among our surviving offsprings. Of course, we needed things to be as believable as possible, so I willed Pierre all of my personal belongings. And if we had children, things would be divided equally among my surviving offsprings. If by chance both of us should die at the same time with no children, all of our worldly belongings were to be liquidated and all funding would be divided between the Children's Hospital foundation and the Mental Health Hospital. For the most part, everything ran smoothly. The waiting time was more of a pain versus getting the will changed over. After we stopped at the sub shop to get something to eat for lunch, the next place we visited was Pierre's insurance company. Changing the plan! As it was standing, there was money to cover the cost of a funeral. Pierre planned to make it so that not only would the funeral cost be covered. He also wanted to make it so that I would inherit a good sum of money on his untimely death. Once again, we made sure that things were the same for me as well. We wanted to make sure nothing appeared suspicious. The next place that we had gone to was the courthouse. As I had predicted it would not be as smooth as Pierre had it in his mind. The cost was not the issue, it was waiting for all of the documentation to arrive at Pierre's place. What also delayed everything, was the fact I did not have two pieces of valid identification that were government-issued. The next thing that was going to be an issue, one of us had to have a friend witness us getting married. This is something both Pierre and I lacked, social interaction that had connections with people that we called friends and family. Pierre grumbled as we left the location, "it might have been simpler to just go to Vegas and get married there!"“Do you think we could rent a friend for the event?” I thought about the Vegas thing, "You know that could be arranged!" Keeping his eyes on the road, "I was joking!" I smirked, "You have your passport right?" "You know I do!" "It is simple then!" I began, "The storyline will just change a bit! We will book a suit for a hotel in Vegas! If the police question me or anyone else about the actions we are taking. I will say that we were going to go to the court and elope that way. But after talking we decided that taking a vacation and getting married in Vegas sound ... more entertaining." Pierre was thinking about what I had suggested. "We can book the suit for four to six months from now ... giving you time to cancel the trip!" “In a pinch!” I pointed out, "It is a plan! Not the greatest plan but it will do!" By the time we finished everything that needed to be done, it was past six when we got back to Pierre's house. I was kind of shocked when I did not find Sadragon to be anywhere around. "How long do you think it will take before you get the finalized documents of the changes to your will, insurance and everything else that goes along with the plan?" I asked Pierre as I was making plans to cook dinner. Pierre pushed me out of the kitchen, "A dog can cook better than you!" Going to the fridge Pierre pulled out a large plastic container. "If our survival depended on your cooking skills ... I would be dead in no time!" "Ha ha ha!" I went to the cupboard to get the bowls that would be needed. "Stew?!" "Your favourite! I will make sure the meat chunks are not in your bowl!" "Do not bother!" I said as Pierre placed the stew into a pot to warm up our dinner. "I can eat around the meat!" Clicking the stove on, "Still! I will try to make it so that there is little meat in your bowl." Pierre took the bowls over to the table as I got the spoons. "I figure we will get the paperwork sometime next week. For the rest of this week ... work on your business and pack everything you do not need." I began to chuckle, "that should not take long! How much stuff do you think I have?" Shrugging his shoulders, "You have a lot of cupboards and closets ... I would assume that the majority of your items for the business would be hidden.""You would not be wrong! Personal items ... I do not have a lot of them!" I glanced around the place, "I think you have more than I do!" Placing a spoon near each bowl, "After dinner I will go back to my place! Get everything set up!" "It is over a two-hour drive, no! You will leave in the morning, I need to gather boxes for you to pack your things into." Pierre said as he came out with a pot and a large coaster for the pot to be on. "What about your things?" I questioned, "Would you not need the boxes for your things?" "There is more than enough time to get my things done and dealt with. You just have to let me know when you have your place fully packed." Pierre scooped a few ladles full of stew into my bowl. "Do you still want me to call the owner of the cottage?" We had gotten so overwhelmed with everything that was going on that by the time we were going to make the call, it was very late. "I plan on messaging them once we are done eating. A phone call would have been faster, but ..." "It is what it is!" I added to the conversation. Since I was pushed out of the kitchen, I decided that I would wash the dishes, drying them and putting them away. I found Pierre glaring at the fire with a drink in his hands. "Penny for a thought?" I asked as I sat down, picking up the cup I knew was mine. Inhaling loudly, "I am worried about you!" "Do not worry!" I started, "Sadragon told us that Chaos never releases the body. The evidence will show that you and the party entered the woods. Once the dots add up ... I will not be a suspect and authorities will look elsewhere." Concluding, "I will make sure that I am actively online, working on my business! Everything will add up ... minus bodies!" I could feel a nudge of someone trying to get a hold of me. Opening my mind's eye just enough to see who it was. I saw a male in his late forties possibly in his earthly fifties! He was tall but not as tall as Pierre. receding hairline, with a dark tan complexion. He appeared to be someone who was dressed well but did not have a lot of money for fancy clothing. Over his head, I could see the symbol for Cancer! It was what I saw next that caused me to move abruptly, a black bird. A smidge bigger than a raven! What caught my attention even more, was this black bird I had seen several times in my dreams. I knew they were dreams of the past, but I was not sure how they related to me! Finishing my drink, "I have someone that wants to speak with me!" "Who?" Pierre asked as he always does. I got up out of the chair, "you remember how I got a phone call from the Spanish speaking males?" "Yes!" Pierre mimicked my actions. "Cancer is a talented man! He knows how to summon while in the physical realm!" I placed my cup in the sink. "How is that possible? You can not even do that!" Pierre washed our glasses. "He has to be in his late forties early fifties! This gives him more time to practise! Also, I think he has embraced the dark side, where as I have been ..." Pierre began to chuckle, "Run and hide!" I clapped my hands together, “You know me all too well!” I directed my feet to my room, “See you in the morning!” “See you in the morning!” Pierre parroted me.
