Revenge of the Rejected
“Doctor, how is he, now?” Charles inquired about his chauffeur’s health condition. “he’s better now. Everything has been worked on. So, he’ll be fine in a few days. The bullet didn’t go deep. It only grazed a little of his flesh.” The doctor reported, trying to make Charles feel rest assured. “Oh, alright, thank you.” Charles walked out of the hospital, relieved that his chauffeur wasn’t in a critical condition. “Taxi!” He waved his hand for the taxi to slow down. As he got into the cab, he informed the cab driver of his address, and then leaned back on the car seat, with his eyes closed. Then a call came in for him from one of his guards. He answered it immediately, hoping they had gotten the name of whoever had sent those armed guards. “And how did it go? Did they confess?” “Yes, they did. They said it was Mark Adam who sent them to kill you.” “Really? I guess he must have found out that I ratted him out to Mr. Darwin. Well, this was the dumbest way to get back at me. Tell the cops to search for him!” Charles instructed, feeling a bit furious. He wasn’t going to hold back in giving Mark the punishment he deserved since he didn’t want to back down despite the chances given to him. Charles hung up and resolved in his mind to unleash his anger on the Adams family as much as he wanted to. The next day, Charles walked down to his sitting room, and was served a cup of coffee. While he was sipping his coffee, a call came in from one of his guards again. “Have the cops found him?” Charles asked, inquisitively. “No, boss. Actually, it is said that he is no longer in the city. But the cops have sent his pictures out to other stations around so they would arrest him once he is caught.” “Good. We must find him as he can’t go scot free.” “Yes, boss.” Charles hung up and sipped his coffee. He wasn’t going to allow any news to spoil his mood, and make him lose his hope on getting Mark in his hands. The door opened, and he was surprised to see Angela walking towards him. “And what have you come here to do again?” Charles questioned, looking at her with a straight face. “You should know what I’m here for. I heard what’s going on, and that you ordered for the cops to search for my brother.” “So?” “I need you to call the search off.” Angela demanded as she looked straight into Charles’ eyes. “I guess you really don’t care about the damage he has done. All you care about is yourself, your gains and your family. Well, I can’t call the search off.” Charles retorted, and leaned against the chair. “You are such a low-life scum bag, and you’re jealous about how close knitted my family and I, are. And that’s why you you’re doing everything within your power to destroy us.” Angela raised her voice. Charles laughed, and chuckled, baffled at how she could make such statement without feeling embarrassed or sort. “You really are funny, Angela. You’re calling me a low-life, and someone who just wants to destroy your family? Have you forgotten about your family’s dirt?” “What dirt! Tell me! What dirt!” “Don’t you forget who your father is. A fraud and a drug smuggler. Your brother, is a lazy gambler who only enjoys and thrive on other people’s hard work.” Charles stated, sneering at her. Angela got furious and raised her hand to slap him, but Charles held her hand, and got even more angry, then dragged her out of his house, this time. Angela regained her balance after she was pushed out, and she yelled. “Stay away from me, Angela. I’m promising you that I will deal with your family in due time. No one would be able to help them even if they cry out for help.” Charles threatened with a serious look. Angela scoffed, and rolled her eyes. “You know what you are? You’re nothing but a bluff! F**k you! F**k the hell out of you, you asshole!” Angela swore loudly at him as she began to leave in anger. Charles wondered why a man would love a woman like Angela? It was certain that the love they had for her would never remain the same if they found out her inner and dirty attitude. On the other hand, Jefferson was at a gamble house, playing away his money, and losing every single time. He was about getting ready to play another round which was with his last card when Angela called. “Long time no see, Angela. How may I help you?” He asked as he walked out of the noisy gamble house to a secluded part of the road. “I need you to come over to the house. I have something important I want to speak to you about.” Angela requested, over the phone. “Hmm. Alright then. I’ll be there in less than an hour.” He assured her, and hung up. He decided not to play his last card, so he prepared to go to the Adams’ house. It had been a while since he visited there, and the treatment he got wasn’t a good one, but he wanted to know what Angela really needed to see him for. Soon, he got to their house, and he was served a glass of juice, and cookies. Jefferson stared at the cookies, and scoffed. “I really don’t know if I should be eating this.” He voiced out, and met with Angela’s gaze. He noticed how beautiful and sexy Angela was, but he reminded himself of how she treated him when things went wrong for him, so he resolved in his heart not to be swayed by his words. “It’s just a harmless welcome gesture.” Angela replied as she sipped her drink. “Just cut to the chase, Angela. I’m not here to drink and eat.” Then Angela cleared her throat, and decided to speak out. “I need your help. We actually need you to help us with about 50 million dollars. Forget about our wrongs, and help out for old times sake.” Angela pleaded, staring into his eyes like she wanted to charm him with her beauty. Jefferson busted out into laughter, and shook his head slowly. “So, you called me for this? Actually, I really do not have much on me. And when you called me, I was about trying my luck out on something.” “Which you can help us out with if you get successful in it.” Angela pressed on, with pleading eyes. “No, Angela. I can’t help you.” Jefferson disagreed blatantly. “Then leave this house.” Mrs. Penny Adam voiced out in anger, from nowhere. She had stayed somewhere near to eavesdrop on their conversation, and was wroth with Jefferson for refusing to help them, despite the fact that they once knew each other. Jefferson was surprised that Mrs. Adam could still speak that way to him just because he refused to help. With that reaction, he was even more determined never to help if he bounced back on his feet. “You know what? Never would I help your filthy family whenever I bounce back on my feet.” Jefferson yelled angrily. He stormed out of their house, and resolved in his heart to make things better for himself. “There is only one way I can look up to now. And that is none other than going to meet Charles.” He resolved in his heart, and drove off.
