Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 141

“I think he’s being too unprofessional, mother. How would he be given a job, and then unserious about it?” Tyson added, sneering at Charles. “I asked a question, Andrews. And you ought to answer without wasting a time.” Sandra said, looking at him in spite. “I apologize for coming in late, and even as I have something, I need to inform you about, this is the wrong manner and time to tell you that, but it is beyond my power to avoid this.” Charles spoke, without budging at how threatening the Lincoln family looked. “And what is it you have to say?” Sandra questioned as she crossed her legs. “I can’t continue to work here. Due to some things which came up, I have to resign.” Charles informed, and then handed over his resignation letter to them which had been written a long time before he got to work at the Lincoln’s company. Sandra and both her sons were shocked as they weren’t expecting such from him, but for it not to seem like they cared, they decided to hide their shock. “That’s much better. You’ve not been satisfying us enough, by the way. So, please leave instantly.” Sandra uttered, and Charles smiled. He was glad that he didn’t have to go through any stress just to get the resignation approved. Although, he could have easily decided not to show up anymore, but he just felt it was best to do it the official way. He knew how crazy the Lincoln family could be. They could decide to search everywhere to hunt him down just because he left without saying a word, and in that process, they could find something fishy. Charles bowed a little, then walked out of their house. Finally, he was free from acting all too humble to them. Now, all the anger and frustration that he had held back while working for them, he was going to lash it out on them in his own way. A few days later, Sandra, Tyson and Carlos were just coming back from different official appointments, and they had decided to book rooms at a luxurious resort. “Whoa, mom. You’ve got the best eye for beautiful places.” Tyson commended his mother while he kept studying how amazing the resort looked. “Of course, I have to always pick the best things.” Sandra chuckled. Then they were ushered into a high-class restaurant where they were served different premium services which they ordered. The meal they had was top notch. Down to the steak they ordered, they had a really good time tasting a lot of intercontinental food. “Mother, they’ve got a beach here. Let’s take a look at the beach as well.” Tyson suggested, and both Carlos and Sandra willingly went to check the beach out. Beach chairs were laid out for them, and they were also served different flavors of juice. “This is the life.” Sandra uttered with relief. “Don’t worry mother, there are still a lot of amazing things you’ll experience.” Carlos assured as he stared and admired the beauty of the beach. “Surely, my son.” Sandra said, then turned to one of the staff who was about to walk past them. “Hey, you! Shouldn’t you know that we should be offered sun screen in a time like this? Do you want my skin to turn ugly like yours!” Sandra lashed out at her. “I’m sorry ma’am. I didn’t know you were without one as I wasn’t the one who brought you in. I apologize on behalf of the staff.” “What the hell! This is why you need to be observant. You have to ensure that your customers are okay, and well cared for. We are paying expensively for this.” “I apologize, ma’am.” The staff apologized. “Probably I’ll speak to your manager to fire you for not being observant enough.” “Please don’t take it to heart, ma’am. I’ll get you the sun screen.” Sandra rolled her eyes as the staff hurriedly left to get some sun screen. “Some companies just employ people who do not fit in the requirement for the job.” Carlos chipped in and resumed sipping his drink. “Exactly. People like these need to be fired.” Sandra spoke, and leaned back on the beach chair. As soon as the staff was back, Sandra snatched the sun screen from her, and applied it gently on her skin. “And why are you still here? You can leave.” Sandra scolded her, but as the staff was about to leave, she called her back. “Uhm… I think you’ll need to bring us some snacks, and more juice.” “Alright, ma’am. Right away.” Mr. Lincoln was still away on the business trip, and the man whom they used as a stand-in for James was doing pretty well in fooling Mr. Lincoln to an extent that he still didn’t suspect that a few things could be off.On the other hand, Sandra and her sons made a mess of the resort facilities, almost damaging them as well. That wasn’t all. They had insulted, and looked down on almost all staffs working there. Most of them who had been insulted by them, had this instant hatred for them, and avoided Sandra and her sons as much as they could. No one wanted customers who specialized in bullying the staffs. After they were done making use of all services, and had to pay, they moved to the reception, and Sandra brought out her card to pay. Her card was swiped, but it made a loud sound, declining her payment. “What’s going on?” She asked, wondering why the machine had declined her card. “Do you perhaps have another card, ma’am?” The receptionist requested, and Sandra nodded. She dipped her hand into her bag, then brought out her purse, and took out her second card. “Here it is.” She handed it over to the man. He did the same process, but her card was declined. “You know what, mother? I’ll try it out.” Carlos offered, and then handed his card over. But to their surprise, it was also declined. It left them exchanging puzzled looks that bore a bit of fear in them. They were not just about to be embarrassed by the people whom they had insulted several times, and looked down on.
