Alpha Nicholas’s Forbidden Little Mate
Alpha Nicholas As if Rosie's story wasn't already crazy enough now there's fucking witches included in the mix. I watched her as she spoke about them and saw nothing but care and gratitude when she mentioned what they had done for her but I couldn't help but feel a little on edge given the fact that they told her to come here and that I also currently have a witched hauled up in my cells. Yes, they told her she would find her mate here and she did but there's still something niggling at the back of my head telling me to find out all I can rather than just dismissing it. I'm not sure what I want to ask or even what kind of information it is that I'm trying to get so I'm going to put it on the back burner for now, but not for long. "You said that you met the witches a few days after you left the safe house, right?" Shane asks making me grateful for a moment to gather my thoughts in regards to the witch's situation. "Yes, that's right." "And if I'm right, the attack happened just over 4 years ago so where have you been all this time?" That's a good question, one that I hadn't thought about and that right there just goes to show why he's my Beta. I watch as her whole body tenses up and her hands begin to shake. Fuck what's going on with her? Tony tightens his hold on her and looks at me with a look of despair and anger and I get it. I wish we didn't have to question her like this in front of so many people but we have to and despite how this is making Tony feel I know he understands. he would do it if it was the other way around. Rosie takes a sip of water before looking at Tony who gives her an encouraging look. "It's ok sweetheart. You safe to talk here." Everyone in the room nods agreeing which seems to help her a little as she turns her head and puts her attention on to me showing me respect as the Alpha and it's appreciated. "So, after I left the witches with a new map that would lead me to here I set off on my travels. This pack was in the opposite direction to where I was going. I would have to walk back past my pack lands to get here. By the time I would have gotten back to my pack lands, I would have been travelling for around six days and would have been back to square one but I didn't mind. Don't get me wrong, I was troubled by the idea that I would be going back on my promise to Connor but I also knew that he would agree with what I was doing. If he knew that I was going to your pack where I would find my mate, he would be the first one to encourage me. Hell, if he had been there with me I know that he would have come with me himself." Tony growls making both Robbie and I laugh while Will and Shane sit there nodding their head fully understanding why he's growling. "Down boy," Rosie says as she pats his chest making us all laugh. It's only two words but it's the most outspoken she's been since she got here and I for one like it. It shows a bit of her true personality and if she going to live here in this so pack, she going to need it and she's going to need to be fit for Tony because he's going to be a possessive bastard and that's before you even add in his wolf zero. "It was zero, not me," He grunts like a child making us laugh even more. Of course, the sad reality is that she hasn't finished telling us her story yet and soon enough the atmosphere gets chilly as Rosie prepares to carry on talking. "After travelling for another 3 days I arrived back at my pack lands and before I could stop myself I was standing outside of the pack house reliving the memories of the last time that I saw my family alive. I'm not sure how long I stood there but as I was about to leave I realised that the grounds outside of the pack house were clean. All of the disarray from the attack was gone. Someone had cleaned it up. Of course, I considered that it could have been done by the elders. The lands were in good shape, the pack house fairly large and it would be the ideal place for another pack to start out but still, I couldn't shake the feelings that it wasn't down to them." "You went inside to check didn't you?" Tony asks looking unimpressed when she nods her head and I get it. She was a 14-year-old girl all alone and without a wolf, goddess only knows who could have been in there but I can understand her side. She was a 14-year-old girl on her own without a wolf and despite being told to come to our pack, no doubt she still held out hope that there were remaining survivors from her pack inside who could maybe help her. "Looking back now, I know that it was a stupid thing to do but I was 14 and on my own and still hoping that someone from my family or pack somehow survived. It happened to me so who's to say that it couldn't have happened to someone else?" She has a point but it still doesn't make it any easier to hear. "So yes, I did go inside and straight away I heard a voice, one that sounded very familiar. One minute I was standing by the front door and the next I'm standing in the kitchen staring at people that I never thought I'd see again." "Who was there?" I ask. I remember several members of the pack that I met at the ball and after the attack, I always hoped that somehow there were survivors out there even if we couldn't find them. "There were four of our Warriors and my Uncle Drake who was also the pack gamma. I couldn't figure out how they had survived but then he reminded me that he wasn't there when the attack happened, he along with the 6 other warriors had gone on pack business, somewhere that took 4 days just to get there. They left the day before the attack. I guess my mind was so destroyed by losing my family that I failed to remember that he hadn't been there when the attack happened." "Wow, that must have been surreal for you to find him alive," Robbie says looking completely stunned at what she's telling us. "It was. The moment he noticed me, he started crying and hugging me until I thought that I would pass out." She has tears in her eyes as she relives the moment but also the biggest smile on her face. "Wait, you said that he went away with 6 warriors but there were only four in the pack house. What happened to the other two?" Robbie asks. "I asked him the same question a few days after I arrived. He told me that they didn't find out about the attack until two days after it had happened but as soon as they heard they headed straight back. The four warriors that were in the pack house had families but no mates or children. However, the other two did. Jason had a mate and three pups and Steven had a mate and two pups. They found out about the attack from the elders but were also informed that there weren't any survivors. Anyway, after they came back neither of the warriors could accept that their families were gone. One of them left determined to find his family while sadly the other warrior took his own life when the grief became too much." "Fuck!" echoes around the room as everyone processes what she just told us. I look at Bonnie on my lap and just the thought of being without her guts me and that's before I even begin to imagine how it would be if we had pups too. No, I can't think of that. "Wouldn't they have felt the mate bond snap when their mates died?" Robbie asks. You can see the compassion he has for the warriors but I also understand that he's already thinking of his next question because unfortunately, he can't fully understand how having a mate feels. Fuck, if I had carried on being an asshole, I would be in the same position. Fuck, am I glad that I changed my mind and that my beautiful mate gave me a chance to show her how much I want her? "If they had been travelling for 2-3 days then they would have been too far away from their mates to feel anything," Shane answers while I'm still a little lost in my thoughts. "Thats so sad," Bonnie says as she shifts herself a little before pressing her body into mine more seeking comfort and it may not be the time for it but inside it makes me giddy. This is another step forward for us. "My uncle and his warriors tried with all they had to stop them both but there wasn't anything they could do." "So what happened with the pack after the attack? You mentioned that the elders had informed them that there were no survivors so what happened once they came back? Did they still belong to that pack or had the elders taken it back?" Robbie asks and I find myself grateful for him. He's on top form with asking questions right now which works well for the rest of us who are still trying to work through our thoughts after hearing about the Warriors. "After my uncle came back, he contacted the elders and after waiting to hear from them for a few days they informed him that he was now the pack Alpha and free to build his pack. Of course, he wouldn't officially be known as an Alpha or have a pack until he had more people there but ultimately that's what he along with he warriors decided to do. After he heard my story and plans he asked me to stay with him where he could look after me. He promised me that on my 18th birthday that he would bring me to your pack so that I could find my mate. I figured it was the best thing to do. I mean I wouldn't actually get to know who my mate was until I turned 18 and in the meantime, I could be with my uncle, the only family I had left and I could help him build his pack.
